Sailor Moon has given me many things clear, never give up and believe in yourself and your friends. Thanks for this message! I cried at many scenes because it is so wonderful. I love Sailor Moon, even though it is the end of the episodes, but it never ends in my heart and soul. Thanks for everything, Sailor Senshi's
In march I will become 26 years old and I still cry like a little baby when I watch Sailor Moon. She will be forever my hero and the hero of so many other people! Naoko Takeuchi created such a wonderful masterpiece, bringing so many people from different countries together. I am happy I can be a part of it. I also learned a lot from Sailor Moon.
Thanks for everything Usagi and of course Naoko! <3
@Eca7 it was a blatant ripoff from Sailor Moon, but Nurse Angel Ririka did it very well. Really interesting likeable characters and a good storyline made it really entertaining even though the idea for a transforming schoolgirl fighter wasn't completely original.
@MissYoshi04 you have the movies, AND the live action series, AND the manga (being re-released with a better English translation starting this week!), and my personal favorite, the many musicals that are available subtitled here on youtube!
(trust me, even if a Sailor Moon musical doesn't sound appealing to you... watch one and you will find out how great they are)
even though you've seen the whole TV series there's still a lot more!
@domizzl the anime ending was simpler but it wrapped everything up in a neat package with no loose ends, which is why I prefer it. the manga leaves too much unexplained and leads me to believe there's a really depressing ending in the future. sure you get to see a couple of cool things like the wedding, but I wish the ending was explained better.
@bobdonda I agree, they managed where many failed: the ending. Funny thing, the manga never managed to hook me as much as the anime... I don't know why... The anime is full of something the manga lacka: peace of mind and fullfilness. I know each version has its fans, but it always been how I perceived it from my stand point which is probably warped!
@sailormatlac I liked the anime series better than the manga too. With so much time to work with, the writers could get you to really know and care about the characters. There were hundreds of scenes (and almost some entire SuperS episodes) where the viewer just gets to enjoy the company of these interesting and likeable characters.
btw it's interesting how the original author's work is the shorter version... usually the author writes a long book that has to be condensed down into a movie
@bobdonda That could be explained by the fact that often the anime script were elaborated before the manga and that ideas not used found their way in the last one.
Usagi Tsukino started off as a 14-year old underachieving, clumsy crybaby who didn't want to become Sailor Moon, Earth and the Moon's last hope. She grew into a 16-year old mature achiever who saved the world as the Neo-Queen of the Moon, the leader of the Sailor Warriors/Soldiers, and the Champion of Justice. In the name of the moon, she punished all evil. This anime started and ended on a great note. Masterpiece.
@3cheers4Ger Well said! Great, classic and flawless... No other show went through almost 200 monster-of-the week episodes without losing it's essence and still moving the crowd to tears. Probably one of the best thing on Earth in the late 20 or so years! ;-)
@3cheers4Ger Whats hilarious is Naoko Takeuchi originally planned for Sailor Moon to end at the first "arc" (The dark arc) and never meant to continue it, but Toei Animation urged her to. Sometimes looking at it its a little weird and over done (for example adding things she had to add later one beause she had no idea she'd be continuing it, for example Nepherenia coming to Bunnys birth ceremony as a child, the scouts "suppressed" those memories)
@3cheers4Ger Also, a few things in the anime were filler parts so Naoko wasn't like... majorly over rushed. (The Allen and giant tree alien thing at the beginning of R and Nephrenias return at the beginning of Stars to name a few)
@wiiplayer9revisited sometimes I think it would have been wonderful if it kept going, but I'm not so sure. how many more enemies could be created? I imagine it would lead to hearing things like "super ultra eternal omega supreme cosmic moon power, make up!"
It could have gone longer maybe, but I wouldn't want it to get stale and boring. Some stories are just the right length, and changing it would make it worse.
A redub would be great news though... an ACCURATE one that is...
@PrincessWendy773 the phrase written and spoken by the voice actresses is "oshimai da yo" which means "the end" (or "it's the end"). I have no idea about that golden heart afterward though!
I've never seen that golden heart at the end of the final episode, does it perhaps only appear on certain VHS or DVD releases of the show I wonder?
I searched "joyo kanji" on wikipedia, and kanji #465 looks like it. the meaning is "to complete, to end (to put a roof on a building to finish it)"
This is the best anime i've had the pleasure to know. Beautiful story, script, ending, everything. Best characters, best bad guys, best sweet scenes. I don't know why they didn't air stars in america, the best season, but it is better in the original japanese version. I'm just happy i could watch all of sailor moon, and see and understand the beauty in it.
I HATE the fact that Chibiusa isn't in the final ending I mean I know everyone says they hate her and she wasn't in most of the stars season but SERIOUSLY she was still a main character!
to all the sailormoon fans I am very pleased to meet you. This anime was my first and very dear to me. It is part of my childhood and hero I had when I was growing up. As nice as the ending is, I prefer the manga ending. Ending with Usagi and Mamoru's wedding, and all the senshi, inner and outer, there as her bridesmaids? That's one thing I definitely enjoyed more about the manga, the inner and outer senshi seemed much closer to each other and more friendly. I didn't like how in the ending here we didn't see both groups together at the end. They could have still ended with Usagi and Mamoru kissing, and still had all the girls together or something.
I saw this for the first time last night. U know when a show or anything has gotten to u when u have the blues the day after. perfect ending to the anime. the manga ending is also perfect but the 2 r different and this suits the anime better. this is the definitive Magical Girl anime not just of the 90s but ever. it has something incompariably and incomprehensibly special about it
@Straw2daberry oh wow, I never thought about that. they must have really loved getting to perform as these characters for all this time... and then for the final moment, they get called in together to voice that "oshimai da yo" line, and then that's it forever. must have been an emotional moment for the group.
luckily it wouldn't be the last ever moment for them to work together, as they've done conventions and interviews etc. together, and some of them have worked together on other shows

@brinpol I know, I would have loved to see how their attacks would have been animated. They had 2 attacks performed as a group, "Pink Ladies Freezing Kiss" with Sailor Chibi-Moon, and "Amazoness Jungle Arrow" performed on their own...
PEGASUS/HELIOS is the very reason why this anime ends already...Because pegasus gave already the Crystal Wands that it must be given in Sailor Stars Arc....Pegasus should give Planet Wands just like the other outer senshis....Also,Mercury Aqua Mirage,Mars Snake Fire, etc, is the true attacks of inner senshis(Super Sailor Mercury,etc)...Mars Flame Sniper is the true power of "Eternal"inner senshis(Eternal Sailor Mars)..T_T
I know I'm gonna get major down rates because of this comment but please don't shed any grief on me! Does it make me a pervert if every time I see Setsuna(Pluto) I get a boner? Is that normal? Please be honest and don't laugh! :(
I'm a bit sad that they didn't make ChibiChibi Sailor Cosmos and the planet sailor scouts didn't get their "Eternal" forms. But it feels very nostalgic to see the ending. ^.^
@brinpol Well I dunno if they screwed it up or if they opted to change it. Its a little difficult to say the explanation was wrong bcos they r just different. I really like both versions
@227060 Well, as much as I enjoyed the anime, I defnitely preferred the manga versions, with the exception of Sailor Moon S, it was as good as the manga. I mean, I would have loved to see animated versions of the Senshi in their Eternal outfits, the rest of the animaids, Sailor Kaakyu (sp?), the human forms of Artemis and Diana, Zero Star, etc. Oh well, to each their own...
@brinpol No don't get me wrong I think the manga is gud altho I find it difficult to follow what the hell is going on in some action scenes (and there r logic/plot holes in it, but the anime has those 2 and it is inspired by the Sentai genre in which plot holes r a must). I think not having eternal forms made Sailor Moon a bit more special. the manga goes by a bit too fast 4 my liking,
@brinpol I've only seen images since I'm in the mid of the second manga arc. From what I've seen tho they r cool and all but Moon is the main character and having her look differ in the Eternal form distinguishes her. but hey I've got the anime for that and if I wanna see them all on a more = pwr lv I can go 2 the manga. the 1st story arc had ovr all a bttr ending than the anime bcos they fought Metalia, altho killing off the senshi (initially) was cool
@227060 Well, the anime had to follow the manga. Which it mostly did, but not always, unfortunately. One interesting fact i read about, the author wanted to end the series, just 1 season, with all the characters being killed. But, the editors told her you can't do that for this type of genre, plus, the series just became such a hit during the first season that she decided to change her plans and make another season...then another...and another...and so on ;)
@brinpol I think at best the anime is 75% accurate, but that pushing it, its atleast 50% tho. thats what I mean that u can enjoy the series btwn the manga and anime, bcos thier deaths in the anime was cool and had a gr8r impact than da manga wudda had simply bcos u knew the characters 4 longer. plus it all wrkd out for the best bcos we go 5 enjoyable seasons/story arcs as opposed to just the one which may have led SM 2 have been simply a fond memory as opposed to the powerhouse it was/is.
@227060 I don't think their deaths had less impact in the manga. You knew them just as long, and you have to give the author credit for doing just as much with the characters with less time. There were many great character beats in the manga that went unexplored in the anime, especially Ami and Rei's relationships with their fathers...but to each their own. I do enjoy both, but I just wish the anime was a little closer to the manga...
@brinpol No dude what I meant was IF they had died at the end of the Dark kingdom Arc as intended then it wudn't have had as much impact u widda known them 4 around chapters as opposed to around 40 episodes. Again I haven't read all of the manga yet, so I dunno how she handles the characters int he grand scheme of things but I suspect that I will know the characters bttr, I just meant for the first story arc.
@227060 Again, I have to disagree with you. She gave them a lot of personality, and it had a HUGE impact in the manga as well. I guess we will just agree to disagree...
@brinpol yes we will, but I was talking strictly about the first 12 (I think) acts of the manga. they did have personalities but u didin't see as much of them in comparison to the first story arc of the anime where there were 40+ eps, therefore thier deaths had a greater impact than if they had died in the manga at that point
@227060 ...but, they did. Sailor Moon kills Tuxedo Mask, then kills herself when they are fighting Beryl and Metallia. The Senshi sacrifice themselves to "awaken" SM. Go back and re-read it...
@brinpol I did, Tux Mask was saved by the stones of the Shitennou which blocked the sword and Sailor Moon was savced by Mamoru's watch which blocked the sword in her. The Senshi were unconcious I don't think they were dead, but theart can get confusing. Also the author expressed dissatisfaction that she was unable to kill off the Senshi in the first arc like the anime, they weren't dead
@227060 The senshi were dead. That was the whole point, they sacrificed their lives to revive SM, giving their lives for their princess. And the author's dissatisfaction was related to another matter. Anyway, stop messaging me on this subject, you have your opinion, I have mine. I like both the anime and the manga, but in most respects, I like the manga more. Nothing you have said has changed my mind, so please drop the subject. Lets just agree to disagree :)
Well you can with a program I use a called: atube catcher. That allows you to download You Tube videos, but not only video and audio, if you wish you can only download in Mp3 format, etc
"ai to senshi yo sailor bishoujo sensi SAILOR MOON" this words always make me cry waaaaaa i love sailor , she is my fav anime i wiil never forget her !!! i miss you USAGI-CHAN!!
Yeah, thats what they say. You know if I ever run a dubbing company someday, I would probably see about redubbing Sailor Moon and dub the final season, but that probably wont ever happen.
I wish sailor moon was on still, but now all they do is pokemon and digimon. Which I think they are the same componie that made sailor moon. Or mabey the same stile I do not know, but I love the real last ending song, but there is more look in the books they give the final ending. And it makes much more sence in the books. I love sailor moon she is a true hero.
Sailor Moon has given me many things clear, never give up and believe in yourself and your friends. Thanks for this message! I cried at many scenes because it is so wonderful.

I'm a bit sad that they didn't make ChibiChibi Sailor Cosmos and the planet sailor scouts didn't get their "Eternal" forms. But it feels very nostalgic to see the ending. ^.^
wingsofhope2 2 years ago 52
@wingsofhope2 Chibi Chibi wasn't just Sailor Cosmos...she is Usagi from the future.
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol Sailor Cosmos doesn't show up fully in the anime though ;A;
wingsofhope2 1 year ago
@wingsofhope2 I know, which was sad. The manga had a much better explanation than what we got here ("She was Galaxia's star seed").
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol well it was a different explanation bcos both r really different to each other, but both manga and anime carry the same fundamental messages
227060 1 year ago
@227060 It was different because the writers of the anime series screwed up the story lol I still prefer the manga explanation.
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol Well I dunno if they screwed it up or if they opted to change it. Its a little difficult to say the explanation was wrong bcos they r just different. I really like both versions
227060 1 year ago
@227060 Well, as much as I enjoyed the anime, I defnitely preferred the manga versions, with the exception of Sailor Moon S, it was as good as the manga. I mean, I would have loved to see animated versions of the Senshi in their Eternal outfits, the rest of the animaids, Sailor Kaakyu (sp?), the human forms of Artemis and Diana, Zero Star, etc. Oh well, to each their own...
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol No don't get me wrong I think the manga is gud altho I find it difficult to follow what the hell is going on in some action scenes (and there r logic/plot holes in it, but the anime has those 2 and it is inspired by the Sentai genre in which plot holes r a must). I think not having eternal forms made Sailor Moon a bit more special. the manga goes by a bit too fast 4 my liking,
227060 1 year ago
@227060 Really? I loved the Eternal forms. Maybe it was the way the artist would draw them, but they all looked so fierce in their poses ;)
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol I've only seen images since I'm in the mid of the second manga arc. From what I've seen tho they r cool and all but Moon is the main character and having her look differ in the Eternal form distinguishes her. but hey I've got the anime for that and if I wanna see them all on a more = pwr lv I can go 2 the manga. the 1st story arc had ovr all a bttr ending than the anime bcos they fought Metalia, altho killing off the senshi (initially) was cool
227060 1 year ago
@227060 Well, the anime had to follow the manga. Which it mostly did, but not always, unfortunately. One interesting fact i read about, the author wanted to end the series, just 1 season, with all the characters being killed. But, the editors told her you can't do that for this type of genre, plus, the series just became such a hit during the first season that she decided to change her plans and make another season...then another...and another...and so on ;)
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol I think at best the anime is 75% accurate, but that pushing it, its atleast 50% tho. thats what I mean that u can enjoy the series btwn the manga and anime, bcos thier deaths in the anime was cool and had a gr8r impact than da manga wudda had simply bcos u knew the characters 4 longer. plus it all wrkd out for the best bcos we go 5 enjoyable seasons/story arcs as opposed to just the one which may have led SM 2 have been simply a fond memory as opposed to the powerhouse it was/is.
227060 1 year ago
@227060 I don't think their deaths had less impact in the manga. You knew them just as long, and you have to give the author credit for doing just as much with the characters with less time. There were many great character beats in the manga that went unexplored in the anime, especially Ami and Rei's relationships with their fathers...but to each their own. I do enjoy both, but I just wish the anime was a little closer to the manga...
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol No dude what I meant was IF they had died at the end of the Dark kingdom Arc as intended then it wudn't have had as much impact u widda known them 4 around chapters as opposed to around 40 episodes. Again I haven't read all of the manga yet, so I dunno how she handles the characters int he grand scheme of things but I suspect that I will know the characters bttr, I just meant for the first story arc.
227060 1 year ago
@227060 Again, I have to disagree with you. She gave them a lot of personality, and it had a HUGE impact in the manga as well. I guess we will just agree to disagree...
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol yes we will, but I was talking strictly about the first 12 (I think) acts of the manga. they did have personalities but u didin't see as much of them in comparison to the first story arc of the anime where there were 40+ eps, therefore thier deaths had a greater impact than if they had died in the manga at that point
227060 1 year ago
@227060 So was I. Their deaths in the first arc moved me as much as it did in the anime. I guess we just disagree...
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol ...but, the Senshi didin't die in the first arc
227060 1 year ago
@227060 ...but, they did. Sailor Moon kills Tuxedo Mask, then kills herself when they are fighting Beryl and Metallia. The Senshi sacrifice themselves to "awaken" SM. Go back and re-read it...
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol I did, Tux Mask was saved by the stones of the Shitennou which blocked the sword and Sailor Moon was savced by Mamoru's watch which blocked the sword in her. The Senshi were unconcious I don't think they were dead, but theart can get confusing. Also the author expressed dissatisfaction that she was unable to kill off the Senshi in the first arc like the anime, they weren't dead
227060 1 year ago
@227060 The senshi were dead. That was the whole point, they sacrificed their lives to revive SM, giving their lives for their princess. And the author's dissatisfaction was related to another matter. Anyway, stop messaging me on this subject, you have your opinion, I have mine. I like both the anime and the manga, but in most respects, I like the manga more. Nothing you have said has changed my mind, so please drop the subject. Lets just agree to disagree :)
brinpol 1 year ago
@brinpol fine fine, I don't know why we were doing this for so long anyways, I mean we r both fans, so what does it matter they're both gud

@joepod The manga of Super S was pretty good, actually. And the anime version of Stars recovered nicely.

usagi and mamoru's love story's so epic unlike any other anime, sailormoon's just classic and it's the best, people from all ages can relate to it.

Sailor Moon is just incomparable to other animes. It is epic and a classic! It can never be imitated nor duplicated!

thats true but i think they've tried its called wedding peach
Sheeta180 2 years ago 2
unless its wedding peach XD the total rip off of sailor moon XD
vivadeisaso101 2 years ago 3
its not animes fault if the director of sailor stars directed it
anyway what makes it a rip off anyway?
the fact the girls clumbsy (any girl can be clumbsy )
same effects and animation (most of animators and editors did sailor moon did wedding peach)
outfits? (not only sailor moon can have short skirts and sailor moon dont have armor they have school uniforms)
characters ? (all different)
plot (compleatly different!)
:/

Well you can with a program I use a called: atube catcher. That allows you to download You Tube videos, but not only video and audio, if you wish you can only download in Mp3 format, etc

i love sailor moon!but i think they totally screwed up the stars and super s season.
the manga was better for the dream arc and stars arc but the first 3 seasons were amazing
swimchic24 4 years ago 3
I wish sailor moon was on still, but now all they do is pokemon and digimon. Which I think they are the same componie that made sailor moon. Or mabey the same stile I do not know, but I love the real last ending song, but there is more look in the books they give the final ending. And it makes much more sence in the books. I love sailor moon she is a true hero.
