never listen to the whiners, never listen to the kids. they will always lead you into the traps. that is what they do. you know it, i know it, they know it, but for whatever reason it is like hearing what cotton candy would sound like if it could talk.
Shame that TFJ was not deemed to be upgraded - digitally etc. It was a very good cult TV series for sure. I remember it as a kid - Funhouse scared the crap out of me! In many ways, the whole concept of TFJ is WELL ripe for a remake.....
roddy mcdowall made a lot of sci fi planet of apes invaders buck rogers martians croniclestwilight zone and famtastic joyurmey hoped he would make a appearance n the next generto star trek but he never did.
There was a certain raw honesty to these types of shows: they knew they weren't fooling anyone. I was but 10 when this was on but I knew it wasn't really an island, just another location shoot in Southern California, flimsy studio sets, and slightly camp dialogue, but the beauty was playing along with it, dreaming a little. People on the present day who mock the cheapness of these shows just don't get the sensibility of the times. Now everything is so overproduced it comes across as calculated.
Great to see the episodes again.Funhouse was the only one I really remembered. Wow I was 10 when this show aired. Remember the 70's show Cliffhanger that was also a cool show. They are remaking "V" find trailer on the net it looks good.
The first few seconds after the credits reminds me of the way every episode of Planet Of The Apes would start...and then Roddy McDowall turns up to make the coincidence truly spooky. Willaway is just Galen without the monkey makeup. Bless him. And, oh, Katie Saylor and her great legs....my first TV crush.
I remember this show very well, and miss it quite a bit. I'm 41 now. Love these old shows! One question though, how did someone get this footage, especially if its possibly not on DVD yet?
Thanks for posting this. I saw this show when I was a kid but couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called and when I tried to describe it to others they had no idea what I was talking about. I loved this show when I was young and it's still pretty cool.
I saw this series when it was first aired back in 1977 but not this episode until it was shown on Bravo since I live in the UK. This and the episode entitled "Riddles" were the two best in my opinion. A very under-rated show and I was sorry to see it cancelled.
I had always heard about the show but never saw it. It's great. I love anything with Roddy McDowall in it. He was a great actor! Thanks for uploading.

Roddy McDowall like Vincent Price have always been my favorite actors. Johnny Depp said he channeled McDowall when he starred in "Sleepy Hallow"

McDowall has a good voice, very deserving of voicing the Mad Hatter on Batman TAS

When Roddy is talking, I just see cornelius from planet of the apes.

And one more thing...thanks to shows like this, my vision of future utopias/dystopias almost always looks like Southern California...
