laxboi where what ever makes you feel comfortable, There is goalie compression shorts with pads- you can wear them under sweats. You need to be comfortable in goal and have absolutely nothing interferring with your concentration. Matt Plumb a former all american goalie with Syracuse use to wear football pants with all the pads in them.

if i were you, id start goalie now if your interested because you can always go back. but its hard to catch up in goalie. Height doesn't matter if your quick. one of the best goalies i know is 5'6" in college. i'm 5'9" and a sophomore goalie and i love it. Goalie is amazing because you either make or break the game. watch out for getting a big ego. most goalies get big egos because once you have a few good games people start talking about how good you are and what not.
