  • Go back to Paris you froggy cunt.

  • quanti zoticoni

  • One of the best songs. The message, tone and voice, make for one of the greatests on our generation.

  • I love this song and this video is awesome... the bad thing is I could never call a place "home"...

  • @RedNileQueen I feel ya!! I am a baby and her voice is my lulliby. Her voice calms me and heals my anger :)

  • i have always enjoyed this song....it never gets old : )

  • i had to look up wiki for this song...LOVE this song.

  • it was filmed in Hemet, California at a fair...she wanted it to look like a fair that would be in her hometwon...i'd say it was a success. her best video!

  • My all-time favorite Sheryl Crow song and video.

  • It's 1996 & I'm a sophomore watching this amazing video at 3 A.M. on VH1.

Now I'm 32 & where has it all gone?

    It's a sweet kind of sadness:/

  • It's sad that this happens in relationships. People expect love to be perfect and enticing forever, but honestly, it has to be more than that. Put too much stock in the novelty of being head over heels in love with someone when a deeper relationship must also be worked on, and this will happen to you as well.

  • @Taketimetoloveme you are so spot on with your comment. My ex broke up with me after four years because he expects a relationship to be like ,( ...and I quote) "a Fairy Tale" . I thought we had a deeper connection but apparently not. I guess he will be searching for that life long "Fairy Tale". But its funny he was from the back woods of Oklahoma...and I relocated from Europe because of him. Nevertheless, it was a life experience...this clip reminds me of Oklahoma... :)

  • Can anyone tell me where this Fair was, I have tried to Google the location and some of the places named in the video (inland valley gilbert auto) but to no avail. Anyone got any information, Thanks

    John

  • @Takao1078 John, after some searching, the only thing I can find is possibly West Virginia. I typed in Gilbert Auto Body and Gilbert, WV came up. Someone on here said that it was filmed in Western Kentucky and it was her people. Not sure. I have wondered this for a very long time. I'm from Eastern Kentucky and a few of these people look familiar to me so maybe it IS Kentucky. If you find anything out on this please contact me via facebook. Just search Tabitha Bond.

  • @scarlettepiphony Don't know where this was shot; but Sheryl grew up in Missourri.

  • Sheryl is maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in this video.

  • This is an amazing and wonderful video. Thank you. It is where I lived in Western Kentucky, and these people are my people. Heart breakingly lovely.

  • @MrElizabeth79 This video was filmed in Kentucky?

  • i love this song...

  • I keep waiting for someone to try to cook and eat her.

  • Reading romance movies? What?

  • @CapnPicard

    Novels, not movies.

  • @RedNileQueen Thank you for what you wrote.

  • It's true: there is prejudice against rural dwellers. But having lived in rural west Texas AND coastal southern California, I can tell you there's equally as much prejudice against "city folks." Someone is not better because of where they live be it in the city or in the country. It's your character that matters and that's on an individual basis.

  • Makes me miss my years in Central Missouri, just a bit. I miss that smell of hot tar and railroad wood. When I walk around on a humid day here, I sometimes smell that and close my eyes and become a kid for a minute again.

  • They filmed this video in my home town in Southern California.

  • Long Way Home

Its a long way home when you're walking

when love doesn't meet your dreams

When life get stretched beyond its means

    M.S. Morrison

  • This song brings back a memory of a beautiful woman from New Jersey who blessed with her presence..........

  • An extremely beautiful song that reminds me of my life, my nomadic way, and "home" to me is an ephemeral concept. I have a lot of relatives who live in a very small town in the midwest...the people in the vid made me miss them.

Many thanks to the person who posted it here; could not be happier or appreiciate it more. xoxox

  • heard it on cold case ;D <3

  • Sheryl I love you and your music because I know you have lived and live your music! that is the kind of music i like.....Thank you Again! ~8)

  • these are my people shown here, though my folks tended to get to university and be local doctors; or farmers - Hi, Sheryl!

  • Echt geiler Song!!!

  • In 1982, 20 year-old Sheryl Suzanne Crow

  • i loved this song since i first herd it. it's still very applicable to my life.

  • I hope the little girl @ 3:50, who must now be around 20 years old, got to have the money from this video to pay for at least a little bit of her college education

  • love this song always have..but this video is ughhh...

  • What says the old man at the final part?

  • @jmmartin096

He says " I don't really have no place to go back to"

I know exactly waht he means and how he feels.

  • @TONY1ALEX2 Really sad... thanks

  • @jmmartin096 "i don't really have any place to go back to."

  • 3 people aren't welcome home.

  • Awesome!

  • Simple people with simple lives.....guess we all forgot what livings all about, I ENVY THEM!

  • She is amazing !! I wish I can sing like her and have that amazing voice , beautiful hair and great look....viva Sheryl Crow POR SIEMPRE :)

  • I've rarely seen the emotions of a song so powerfully put by the people photographed and taped within it. Great video!

  • Great video... I love this song!!!

  • Wonder how much money those people were paid to screw their teeth up.

  • @catman605

I'd think their teeth are screwed up because they haven't enough money to get 'em fixed -

  • @SupernalOne I know. I was just being silly. Still, I'd think there would be some gov't agency or plan to help the lower income folks get some dental care. Maybe not.

  • @catman605

yes, sorry, I should have got that - I don't know, Appalachia has always been known for the simplicity, not to say impoverishment, of the lives of its inhabitants - farmland isn't rich, local industry is coal mining - apparently it's a little harder to find health insurance, or pay for it - let's be thankful for what we've got, I guess: internet access!

  • for a colorful if incomplete history of American Southern dirt-track racing, read Tom Wolfe's The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine Flake Streamline Baby

  • great video - these people shown are my people, descendents of Scots-Irish immigrants, but mostly I don't know them, not in that small-town walk of life - I used to visit relatives down South as a kid, but we've all grown apart - as the man said at the end, no, I don't really have any place to go back to -- I like Sheryl's arc in the vid tho, she chooses to re-enter that world, she gets dirty, back to the mud, the earth, her land -

  • @SupernalOne haa aye no bother pal

  • This is such a great song, her finest I reckon and the video a masterpiece simply showing real people in real situations. Oh and Sheryl looks so hot in it, she looks like she will burst into flames at any given moment!!!

  • And as straightforward and unforgettable songs as country legends, Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn and Allison Krauss on the female side.

  • A trip to Kennett, Missouri (her home) in 1996. Great video artistry and vocals. A true country-crossover hit that transcends any genre of music. A little Chris Isaak influence in the music and lyrics as straightforward and unforgettable as Johnny Cash.

  • There are only two Sheryl Crow songs I really like and, this is one of them.. but BOY is it wonderful. I love everything about it. This video is haunting. I can't decide if it's beautiful or if it pisses me off. Both.. more of the former, less of the latter.

  • OMG...I found it!!!!!! Thank you! I would hear this on the radio and would stop driving just to listen to this.

  • @shinylite54 lol...girl!

  • @shinylite54 lol...girl! That's AWESOME!!!

  • I really liked this haunting sound of Sheryl Crow. It has this Mazzy Starr quality to it. If you know what I'm talking about, it's this cold haunting beautiful sound, but cold in a good way.

  • All in how thick the lens is on those rose colored glasses we all seem to wear at different times. Some folks don't live the big city life, they live a slower paced country life and call it Home. They smile at strangers and say "Hi" as opposed to their city cousins who wouldn't think to make eye contact with a passer by. Some poke fun at the way they look yet, the angel at 1:40 and 1:49 smiles wide with a happiness many folks seem to have lost a long time ago.... Take a deeper look.

  • LIFE SUCKS, MAKE THE BEST OF IT THAT YOU CAN

  • thumb up to sheryl , thumb down to vevo

  • Sheryl is a true American Goddess! Globe sessions is some of her best work.Too make light of that is too become an ignorant, reality show loving, worthless pile of excrement, barely worthy a slug's existence. : )

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ITS ABOUT ME AND MY LIFE

  • Great song and great video.

Those people look like the people I know and admire too.

I kind of feel sorry for them since many city fools don't respect them.

They are the hard working Americans who make our lives better and keep our country running and the ones who mostly fight and die to defend our country.

Give me a choice to live among those people or rich or city people and I will choose good hard working people every time.

Without people like the ones in this video the US would fall apart.

  • @squizzoo I couldn't agree with you more!

  • @squizzoo you are so right you took the words out of my mouth i love your response this video makes me happy /sad ....just a beautiful song and video i watched it over /over one of my many favorites of sheryls....she is awesome.. :)

  • @squizzoo You HAVE just a narrow mind and the city folk you hate so much

There are many hard working city folk that serve are country and work there ass off.

But your hate blinds you, just like hate blinds all people of the world that hate.

  • @squizzoo Here in Argentina is the same thing. The hard working people in rural places makes the country to grow up... but politicians and rich people of the city makes the thing very hard for those.

Thanks and regards from here, friend.

  • @squizzoo Yeah, they're great people until you tell them "I'm studying political science in university". To which they reply "Well, I dunno what's so science about politics but I do know that they're all crooks and scumbags. Always takin' my money. Damn crooks stay outta my pockets!".

Great people. Very supportive until one decides to make a different life choice, god forbid, breaking out of the mold.

I should know, I grew up with these people.

  • @esperago Yep couldn't agree more. 99% of the time they are very close minded people.

  • @squizzoo I suppose not only the US would fall apart. Best regards from Europe! :)

  • Love the song, but the freaky hillbillies scare me.

  • @feelflowz they are not freaky they are just poor don't be scared of human beings.

  • omggg!!! i know that guy touching the pregnant ladys belly!! hes my moms boyfriend! he was like 18 in this video

  • Wherever "home" is, they clearly don't have a dentist working in the town :-)

  • this song saved mt life!!

  • think this is her best song!,fantastic!

  • This song is incredible.....I truly feel at home when I'm in my boyfriends arms...fights or calmness, He is home for me! I love you Tony!

  • love this video and this song.. All these people look like thery' re from my neck of the woods..LOL.. but they probably filmed this in Kentucky or Tennesee.

  • Som pepoel forget where they from nice to see

    that som remember

  • christ what a horrible little shithole

  • I think the director of this video, Samuel Bayer, is an absolute genius! He's definatly my idol director.

  • @MandL100 ye great vid.dont think ive seen any of his others.

  • @yozfavs He did all of Green Days videos from American Idiot, and loads of other vidoes for people like Nirvana, My Chemical Romance and Justin Timberlake. He's directing the film *The Nightmere on Elm Street* this year too :)

  • @MandL100 don't forget about Garbage, the Cranberries and Metallica's Until it Sleeps. I LOVE Sam Bayer's work! :)

  • @TheTvstuff Yeah i love his work too! :)

  • This is the most beautiful song and video... these people are beautiful. love kiki

  • She is from Kennett, Missouri.

  • The outer shell of a person means nothing! its the soul that makes us who we really are...we all need to look behond what our (eyes) see....

  • @bmirish33 Only ugly people says that... or so I heard lol

  • @Capjae10 the only people that say that are the ones who don't take the time to look at a persons heart.

  • @bmirish33 you are wrong ...it's what we see without our eyes that counts...there is no shell, it's obvious...people are what they are we must look with our loving eyes!!!! We are all human.

  • Very touching video and song.

  • Cool video. Nice song.

  • Beautiful song and great video...the music is very good.

  • what a great video

  • fantastic song ,

    great Sheryl

    Thanks from Poland

  • beauty is intangible and subjective.

outward facades lie all the time.

    What may initially look wholesome?

What may outwardly seem rough and uncouth?

  • Lawl @ vissus2 Nextym jus sey - Keep showing off your incredible intelligence.

    <3 This song,, eases burdens.

  • it portrays the typical american society

  • HAHA this was filmed in my town

  • I love this video and song...Sheryl Crow is amazing!!!

  • Sheryl is cool.

  • This video has been on youTube in various forms since I got on line in '04. One of my favorite Sheryl Crow songs & the video, to me, is a mini masterpiece. Very Americana. Touches all of us one way or another.

  • Great, mesmerizing song.

The video really, really fits it.

Although I don't understand why Sheryl Crow is one of the only attractive people in it. That was a bit off to me.

  • Fly-over states types.

  • Sheryl can come to my "Home" anytime!!

  • OMG, these people weren't actually from this town?! lol It really doesn't matter, this looks like every small town I've ever been to: 1000 regular white folks, 1 hot girl and no black people. Oh, great song by the way.

  • Well, someone was using my computer to leave the previous comment, but it is true that the video was shot here in Hemet, California.

Like she said, a lot of the extras were not from around here; the video looked a good bit more like Appalachia where I grew up a half century ago.

  • Who say the truth?? EdWatts or shinyapples?? ¬¬ It is a mystery in internet...

  • this is a beautiful song, but it doesn't fit the video.

  • @shinyapples The video most certainly fits this song. It's showing how "normal" people live....everyday life. The clips with the young couples, older women, all draws to the idea of making such serious choices (marriage) at such a young age, and what the end result is.....sadly, in some cases.....ie, lonliness, solitude. IDK, jus my take on it!

  • This video was made in Hemet, California. Many of the extras weren't even from the town. I know this because it is a small town, and I was there, in the video with my then boyfriend

  • @EdWatts

if this was made in Hemet, this pisses me off, cuz my mom has plenty of friends in Hemet and we go there quite a bit and i've never seen anyone that looks like this!

  • @EdWatts

yikes, i missed the part about the extras not being from Hemet. somehow i also thought that it was a well-known fact that the video was filmed in Hemet, but i guess not. okay, so not so mad anymore since nobody was really from Hemet. :)

    thanks for setting me straight!

  • Hemet? I thought she's from Kennett, MO. A woman I know has a best friend from there.

  • Beautiful Sheryl... I love u from Spain!!

  • How Cool You Would Do This Video.

    You have my admiration Crow.

  • que buen video ,sheryl crowesla mejor

  • This isn't white trash lol. It's just country:) and i love it. however, the vid doesn't match the song at all!!!

  • Well, Sir, obviously of great "knowledge" and "perspective." I beg to differ. I beg to differ on your myopic view as well as any that would take any personna and for convenience put it in a definition. If you do this, decide it best for you, ok. But it is NOT the TRUTH. Too many people of evrery kind are very tired actually of people like you...who need to catorigize, truly. Take folk, one by one, give each time, as you do yourself, I am sure, You will be happier.

  • This is a very country video.. it has tons of white trash but not in the bad way.. i think people that live in this type of towns look like that.... the song totally matches with it...

  • Love the song... what's with the white trash fest video?

  • Sheryl is from a small town in Southeast Missouri. It is a poor community of wonderful people who are NOT white trash - unless you consider her white trash as well.

  • I love this tune...The rhodes piano, slide guitar and (of course) her vocals create this haunting soundscape of Americana...so good.

Plus, I think I have the same double-neck guitar as the guy in the vid...:)

  • Goto jobcentre or homeless daycentre for food and fuck signing on debate dilema. I like this tune.

  • Stay in internet cafe because I have the earphones. No-one else does and pay £1.50 for 1 hour or else hop train to library and use slightly better computers for nothing. Dilema. I'm in centre of town where people walk about listening to phone, gearing up for christmas buying products.
