I'm new to this band. In fact I discovered them on Tuesday at Uncaged Monkeys. And I'm in love. Listening to this, its just amazing. I don't know how to explain it. It makes this feeling that starts off as a slight fluttering in my belly, and then it rises, up through my spine as rippling chills, like an electric current. And the butterflies rise with it, up into my chest cavity and it feels like my heart is pumping with the rhythm of the music. I want to cry and I want to sing. It's beautiful.
... where did 65DOS go.... They just.... went away, and put their good ideas in a safe, I hope.... This is not a good album for them, in my opinion.... They are my favorite band, but this just makes me feel empty... nothing at all .... "THESE THINGS WE CAN'T UNLEARN"
@NikPnchl7 did you ever see them live? every member plays like 3 instruments simultaneously, it's not a problem at all to have an automatically produced beat playing when you can deliver that energy with such an amazing improvisation session. and the drummer still plays most of the beats, often times together with 0-3 other members that switch to toms if they're not busy playing keyboards, effect pedals, guitars, bassguitars, percussion instruments etc
@Faxe555 I guess music appeal comes into one of those highly subjective matters of choice and appeals differently to different people. True the people playing this music must be putting in all of the effort you describe but while the end product might sound good to you to me it just sounds like a bunch of noise. I'm out of the school of rock where music can be simple and yet be powerful and punchy. Dont mean to disrespect your choice of music, just saying what it sounds like to me.
@NikPnchl7 yep, of course you're right! I just thought that you might have had a reason to listen to this bands songs and because I appreciate their music so much, I won't people to be able to experience the same. They go through a lot of different musical styles, so there might be a song that you like better. I started really listening to music when I got into metal but what really still gets to me are more experimental types of music that go beyond genre borders without being unemotional.
this is composition. this is technique. this is what we are not used to hearing. no words to muddle the music or direct the listener's thoughts...organic and electric. this is a humanistic rhythm and sound. the new blend between man and machine. 65dos knows this as well as we know this and it is way beyond a good thing. keep it up!
The best bands in the world never stick to the same style for too long, creativity is not a bad thing and these guys have my respects for having the courage to experiment instead of sticking with the safe epic-like sound again. :) I like it ^_^
They played this song two and a half weeks ago in Amsterdam. Damn, it was SO amazing. Took me far away, for ten minutes, then I awoke. Masterpiece. <3
@MrGazzlan You need to listen to it in the right atmosphere, I was a bit "meh" at first, but now I like it, put it on your MP3 player or whatever it is you use and take it places, it will click eventually!
This is quite a leap from their previous stuff, but it still kicks ass! I can just imagine the intense energy they get playing this live, can't wait to see them again!
@legendari8031 You've no idea. I've seen them live four times now and each time they've blown me away for different reasons. I traveled over 100 miles to see them twice in the space of 24 hours. I managed to see them tour this album before I'd heard the album itself and, honestly. I've never seen anything like it. The album was a little disappointing, and considering its a contemporary classic, it just goes to show just how good they are live, especially these days.
beautiful end to a glorious album!

This song would be infinitely better if they cut out the first 6 or so minutes of shitty rave music

Why should they stay post-rock, when post-rock bands just shoot out of the ground these days? Besides, they still play their old songs on stage.
