  • Listening to this reminds me of how incredible her 2nd album was.

  • @DilectusTerelle In my opinion, her 2nd album is the best out of the three. It's so powerful, and so amazing.

  • Is it just me or has she got like flawless skin?

  • when i first listened to her a couple of years ago my friend put her albums onto my phone for me whilst i was on a boat trip. I had never heard of her before, knew nothing about her not even the album covers for hints. For those few weeks i was convinced she must be at least 40. she had such wisdom and insightfulness.. my god i was shocked when i got back to realise she was 19!!!

  • She has a surprisingly deep voice.

  • Can someone tell me which brand is her guitar?

  • she actually kills me!!! just so damn good,

  • I type because i can!!! This is unbelievably brilliant!!! Laura Forever!!

  • Chills.

  • This is one of the best performances of this song I have found from her. So emotional, so good!

  • Marcus Mumford: you're an idiot. That is all.

  • does anyone else think she grew up really quickly. She was so young and when she sang she was so expressionless when she first started and all of a sudden she became full of wisdom and confidence! Shes so insperational.

  • Sounds like Alanis Morissette and Radiohead wrote a tune together in places :)

  • 1:55 - 2:05 never been more in love

  • Never punched my laptop so hard for freezing

  • so full of emotions...every time at 1:08 I feel like I´m gonna cry

  • so unbeliveably beautiful!

  • I always put a Laura Marling video on to listen to whilst I do something else and yet I find myself still staring at her singing an hour later.

  • @mufc0607 haha i know exactly what you are talking about. typical morning for me.

  • @mufc0607 so true.

  • Shes beautiful and she has soo much talent

  • Screw you. This is fucking magical. And I'm a girl. And I'll say whatever I damn well please.

  • @quietriots Nobody wanted to stop you from saying that, actually xD

  • i do not like this new accent

  • @kurtissll i think she does it automatically when she's nervous or something. she seems quite nervous here, and i've seen several videos where she seems nervous and make this accent

  • @kurtissll It's a singing style more than it is an accent, me thinks.

  • That was such an amazing performance.

  • would u people top ith these corny redundant comments like 'i'd marry her in a moment' or 'thy must know theyre watching something magical'. n yy way i just want to post that she has a dark edge to her that other indie/folk musicians dont have.

  • i'd marry her in a moment!

  • They must know they are watching something magical.

  • her eyes arent looking at me.....but they are looking thru me....into my soul

  • 2 dislikes = jealous losers on the night!

  • Applause isn't good enough for a performance like this.

  • i love her! she's so lovely

  • Makes me want to ride my bike down to the sea... or kick something in glorious rage

  • This video is pure love. I cannot get over how amazing she is live. I've not seen her unfortunately, but man oh man, is this one of the best performances!

  • she looks like shes going to break into tears at points in this performance! Brilliant yemotional

  • this is real good music, she is so genuine :)

  • Does she smoke? I've heard she does. :( But she does have a lovely voice and I love her music.

  • @safarichick101 Smoke? That's your reaction to this performance? Lordy, lordy Miss Scarlet smell the coffee. Bloody stunning

  • @safarichick101 She does. Well, I know she has, I don't know if she still does.

  • Her skin is like.... unreal or something

  • I love this performance too much. It's actually better than the recorded version. Must....stop....watching....this...

  • Yes, I do love her.

  • I demand a Laura Marling/Tom McRae collaboration!

  • Wow..

  • shivers

  • @ladyali100 Agreed Ladyali :)

  • 3:08 oh god stop looking directly into the camera YOU ARE LITERALLY DESTROYING MY SOUL

  • no words can describe, totally mesmerizing. shes so gorgeous, but past the looks is a truly accomplished artist who deserved a lot more praise than she currently receives. yes, a brit award is a big thing and its nice that laura got some recognition on a bigger scale, but she deserves more than that... truly amazing.

  • @ImTheJake she's young, give it a little more time, her music is destined to be heard 10, 20, 30 years from now, and hopefully she'll still be singing then too

  • I love how natural she is. She doesn't glam herself up for shows...she is simply herself.

  • we let her get a way with a lot because she's pretty, young, extremely talented, a great songwriter with a knack for convincing storytelling, and she has a sound and presence that are so classic and nostalgic that it's probably lost on most of my generation, but thank god someone from her generation was able to create this familiar yet new sound and make it popular!!

  • @fatthad completely agree with you she brings an old-style class in every pore. and yes it is such a shame, but im 17 and love this kind of music so al hope is not lost!

  • @mormor39 She looks about 12 to me. An incredible angelic face!

  • she's the most beautiful person i've ever seen why would anyone dislike it

  • this owns the recorded version so bad

  • she should have won, for this performance alone, if nothing else...

  • It's lovely - but - I do wonder why she sings with an Irish twang. She couldn't be more English when she talks. Similar to Mumford and Sons. I feel slightly cheated by their Irish singing accents - it's like they put it on to sound more 'folk'.

Don't get me wrong - I like them - but it takes away some of the honesty for me.

  • @RampanT77 Hi, I'm Irish and I've never noticed this. Can you provide some phrases as an example where you think she does it? I have described her as the most English singer/song writer around- A rose. Folk has a strong and deep history in England. It's not just an Irish thing.

  • @martin29976 I'd say almost the whole song sounds like it's sung with an Irish twang. From the first couple of lines, to lines like 'I speak because I can, to anyone I trust enough to listen' - at 0.48.

If I had to guess her country of origin without having known - I would definitely say Irish. Same with Mumford and Sons.

Her accent sounds more towards someone like Lisa Hannigan I'd say - than English female vocalists - like Adele or such like. I still love her voice though. Just saying. :)

  • @RampanT77 Perhaps you're right. After-all they are your ears! I can hear where you are coming from now I think. But to me M&S sound like they are from your west country. I think Adele sounds american! aaaaaghhhh! Check out Adele singing daydreamer on Jools Holland on here. Amazing. Glad she is doing well now thanks to x-factor. Every cloud eh?

  • @martin29976 Yeah, Adele does sometimes sound a little American true enough. And yeah - the Daydreamer performance on Jools was pretty special. I can remember seeing it on the TV and it left an impression on me.

Maybe it's just this song where Laura Marling sounds a bit Irish. I just listened to this - 'Laura Marling on Later with Jools Holland -New Romantic' - and it's definitely more English sounding. Regardless, she is a talent for sure.

  • its such a sad song :(

  • i don't know why she makes her voice so intentionally squeaky in some performances, it's so beautiful when it's natural

  • such fragility in her appearance but such power in her words and voice...she is just amazing, especially for someone of her modest years

  • 'Never rode my bike down to the sea' I can't think of a better line describing the pain of regret. Gets me every time. Thank you Laura.

  • gives me chills everytime i see this

    simply amazing

  • 1:36 face

  • Beautiful

  • was hoping to see her here in Cork last night but she is ill.

    get well soon girl!

  • @martin29976 was ment to see her tonight in Dublin..also canselled..so i just substituted it by looking up youtube..not the same but sure its something haha!

  • this should have at least 10 million views

  • Absolutely mesmerising! I almost feel the emotion of this song hypnotising me.

  • such a beautiful performance, thanks for posting.

  • thank you for uploading this! i was really looking for this, this version is so good! really moving and much better than the album version. thank you!
