Oh, quin goig de partitura! Té una força immensa, m'encanta l'entrada de les trompetes que anuncien el trist adéu de Mozart. Genial!! Romàntic nocturn
@Bigthingreg This is Mozart's version of the13th century Latin hymn and prayer, Dies Irae (Day of Wrath), i.e. Judgment Day. God is not 'bro' here. Mozart's opera encapsulates all the terror of that fearful day in a very dramatic way, as befitting an opera. The original Gregorian Chant version is more sombre, but equally thought provoking.
@frogginess1 It's a Requiem Mass, not an Opera. If you're going to be all snooty about what is quite clearly a joke, get your facts right and don't argue with a cathedral chorister.
Mozart dei suoi manoscritti non faceva mai copie ne sopratutto correzioni: la sua Musica l'aveva già tutta nella sua testa. GENIO Meravigioso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta love it when 1:00 to 1:15 the men start singing quantus tremores futurus and the altos and sopranos sing dies irae its the best part of the whole song!
Genial e humano. A propósito, Mozart nasceu no planeta Terra e, portanto, simplesmente humano, como os que nascem na Ásia, África, América, Oceânia e até na Europa.
Mozart was born as a German, the same to his entire family, and Salzburg, which once was part of the holy Roman empire of the German nation, is the birthplace of J.W.A von Mozart who considered himself 100% German.
@Lintflas Salzburg, Austria, the 4th biggest city in Austria is the birthplace of Mozart, he was not German, but Austrian. Direct Quote "Salzburg was the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart." Many Austrians consider themselves German though, even Kaiser Franz Joseph proclaimed himself to be Austrian. He also was living in the holy roman empire of the German nation, but not born there. Salzburg is also very close to the border.
Salzburg wasn't part of Austria at the time of his birth, and according to historic facts Mozart and his entire family considered themselves German, simple as that.
@Lintflas You speak excellent English for a German. I have only visited Germany once, the Rhineland, and I loved it especially Trier. Germans have contributed more to high culture than any other people on Earth so you should be proud to be German.
I guess if nation X would annex Salzburg somewhen in the future, you'd expect that Mozart must be considered one of the national heritage X from this day on? Seriously, get your act together. Just because cities change their "ownership" over the centuries, doesn't influence which nationality historical persons had.
@Golwar So you're saying someone born in auschwitz which was part of Nazi Germany in 1944 would be considered German rather than Polish???????????? thought so.
@Golwar You're obviously a little simpleton. Mozart was an Austrian composer! Listen dumb shit, get a primary education before you starting bashing other people's ideas. You clearly don't know anything about history. Go back to where you were, gnawing on your hind foot under your porch.
Ah, insults - the tool of the fools. Well, your precious education failed you as:
1. Mozart's father was from Augsburg, ouright German and not Austrian.
2. Even Wiki can tell you this: "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born to Leopold and Anna Maria Pertl Mozart [...] Salzburg, capital of the sovereign Archbishopric of Salzburg, in what is now Austria but, at the time, was part of the Holy Roman Empire."
So were is Austria in that little story of yours?
@Golwar There is no Holy Roman Empire now is there? Anyone can write bullshit information on Wiki sites. You did not use the word 'German' in any of your sentences which doesn't tell me shit about his nationality. Archbishopric of Salzburg was a state of The Holy Roman Empire, so it would be correct to either refer him as an Austrian or German composer.
Dude, the initial topic was about the question if he is German or Austrian. If I disagree that he is Austrian, which other point could I possibly support, hm? And I'm quite sure that I mentioned Germany too myself. But honestly, who cares? It's not like this "debate" would matter, right?
That is some very serious music considering it was from someone who liked to shake hands by saying "shake my hoof I'm an ass" as he offered his closed fist to you and brayed like a mule then laughed ! Classic Aquarius
@cerushar Alright, thank you, I appreciate it, I was kinda wondering because I've been taking a Latin class and I wanted a guess without using Google...
I'm a heavy metal fan, but most people don't know I'm a huge fan of classical music, especially when it's dark (late Motzart,Wagner, Bach, Behtoven.) Just the emotion, and when you look at Metallica song (one of their early ones) the has so much dynamics and emotion, and complexity, you can see where of metal evolved. But any way long live classical music and all of the eras that went a long with it, they were the true benefactors especially in ACTUAL talent, in western music.
I would actually love to play this song while beating somebody with my metal weapon (It was originally one of those metal things that you have on windows with which you can determine the distance you want in between the window and the sill, and then keep the window there). What a beautiful killing that would be, I have no doubt.
@stevenpaulniles hahahaha if only such a piece could cure my fantasies! Sadly though, Benedictus is unable, I still get the real urge to murder someone when I listen to this, and every time I wield my cane (as I now refer to it) I think of this wonderful music.
