Andrew Bird, I am forever thankful I found two years ago. As for the debate. When I listen Andrew Bird I hear what God gave this man. Talent to write, to play music that hits at the soul just right. I love that he has such a strong Scientific view as well in his works. But god isn't in this song. Its a catchy song you can listen to and sing along. Sorry that you are blinded by the church that you worship not God. Now go back to listening to Underoath or some other "christian band" no one cares.

A lot of the lyrics make me think that it's about how humans came into existence ("You're what happens when two substances collide") along with an insinuation of a car accident that seems to have involved drinking. Lots of Bird's songs are about the nature of mortality and the biology of life, especially on his album "Noble Beast."
