Very well done right there. A reboot of godzilla ever since that god awful 98 film they made will be the best thing that anybody can do. So when this movie comes out lets not bitch around just because they didnt do something right. The real question is how will they approach the plot? The original Japanese film was very dark both in its execution and it's subject matter. I mean, the whole point of Godzilla was to be a metaphor for the dangers and consequences of mankind's invention of the atom bomb. If they really want to do the original justice, they need to find a way to modernize it while at the same time remaining true to the original theme like Peter Jackson did with King Kong.

I think it will have the same style of metaphor in the film, but it wont be like the 1954 film considering Godzilla will have another monster or monster's to fight.

As long as the handle the character well, give us a decent story an solid actors i will be please... I never want to hear the line ''Thats a lot of fish'' ever again... Or anything of such stupidity.

Also they need to know Godzilla is the main character, not ''the worm guy'' an his dumb blonde girlfriend.

@XxComablackxX1937 yeah but having a second monster tends to to take away from that metaphor. I'm still intrigued, but it's tempered with caution. You're right though there's no way it could be any worse than that abomination starring the guy from Friends. I haven't seen Monsters yet so I can't say for sure if they have the right director or not. Off the top of my head, Peter Jackson's the only guy I'd consider to do a Godzilla reboot.

Monster's, if you watch it you must remember it is more of a ''Love Story'' then a Monster movie which is why some people don't appreciate it at all.

Also considering with a budget of 500,000 it looks like a multi-million daller movie an unlike G-98, you actually feel for the character's here.

Like you i am hoping for the best an props to Legendary an Edwards 4 even stepping up the plate for this project, but the Godzilla franchise can't afford another bomb for Western Audiences.

No Godzilla 2012 will be the TOHO Godzilla, but in CGI an Godzilla will be destroying America with another monster or monster's.

Toho is unsure if they will make another G-movie in 2014 depending on the success of the American Godzilla which they are working with Legendary an working on the project themselves to make sure it's a solid real Godzilla an NOTHING like the 1 they did in 1998.

Forget the 98 monster its dead... This will be the REAL Godzilla

@wehttam04040 Wrong. the Legendary CEO Thomas Tull already stated that the 98' Zilla has nothing to do with their film. It was also mentioned that the monster design will not be used either. It's not a sequal of any sort. He was smart enough to know that it had a bad response from fans everywhere. I don't know who you're trying to fool but the majority of the Godzilla fans here are hardcore fans that already knew about the new film since last spring.

@SM96UK It's already been announced that it will not be a sequel to the 98' Zilla film directed by Devlin/Emmerich. Legendary also said they will not use the monster design from 98' either. This is a reboot and it will have zero to do with the TriStar Godzilla film of 98'.

If it is an entirely new movie, I just hope they don't tarnish the image of the real Godzilla by making a mindless, savage, uncontrolable monster just trashing buildings and stomping on humans like little bugs until the armed forces come over to fight him, because the REAL Big G is truly meant to show humanity the errors of its ways and making humans pay dearly for their evilness, with brute force if necessary

Brian Rogers one of the producers on September 18th 2010 said in a long detailed interview Godzilla will fight another monster or MONSTERS in the upcoming film. So there might be more then 1. Also Godzilla will look like the Tradition 1954 Godzilla, in appearance. He also confirmed there trying to meet the 2012 release for Legendary an it will be a big film.

I can't wait my man this one is based on, the fictional story of when Godzilla first attacks in Japan wasn't that the place. I know Godzilla has like two fictional stories coming out of the sea and a different one he came to Earth on a space and the sea version sounds more realistic. Anyway, Joeb 1963, Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures are doing a great job my man they are doing a much, older version of Godzilla. They are also, doing a Clash Of The Titans sequel too.

Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures are also, working on Heman:The Masters Of The Universe, I think they are doing the Voltron:Defender Of The Universe live action movie I saw photos of Voltron and other monsters in the film. ThunderCats will be handled by Warner Brothers I believe and Legendary Pictures might be working with WB on that too. Lets see ohhhhhh Green Lantern will most likely, be handled by Warner Brothers and L. Pictures, Batman 3 yes and Superman:MOS too
