we loved our visit with the manatees. we saw 2 that wanted to play. they came up to us and rolled over to be rubbed on the belly. i could not believe that a wild manatee would accept me like that. they were so inclusive and social. our guide was very strict about waiting for the manatees to come to you, and never chase one that is ready to leave.
It's beautiful. Wish all the tours could limit themselves to a few people so the poor things don't get surrounded and annoyed, and untrained people couldn't just rent boats to go out, hit them, and destroy their feeding grounds.

I remember oyur only allowed to touch them with one hand or you get a fine, memories
