Harold was AMERICAN,and Harold Lloyd spoke ENGLISH....at least have the class to add english sub-titles.You could have done it,if you'd wanted to.
French=rude, and hate Americans,or anybody else who helped to save their country, and saved their women from whoring for the German officers,The cowardice of the French men,and the slutty french women really shamed that country, and still does today.Thats why they hate "The GREAT USA so much!
The glass character was pretty well developed by now - 2 years into it. One has to remember that Bebe was in her teens when she dated Harold. She was 8 years younger than he. Chaplins only marriage to a teenager was Oona O'Neil (daughter of playwright Eugene O'Neill) although he dated much younger women too.
Nice gags, especially around the revolving door(but think how nauseous the actors must have been). He hadn't quite caught the glass character yet,but he was getting there.Note the typical sexual tease going on.The only exception is Why Worry?,where he gives Jobyna Ralston the only really ferocious kiss of his career.Seems almost too realistic-I've heard he was"involved",along with the 3D Hollywood Nudes.Harold's morals left a bit to be desired. But better than Chaplin, with his 15-year-old brides.
Another great Lloyd clip And perhaps another cameo by Oliver Hardy towards the end? I just watched Over the Fence and thought that Ollie might have been in that one as well. Maybe I just need a good pair of big round glasses. ;)
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my clip of silent movie star tobacco cards. They include: Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, Mary Pickford, Lillian Gish, Tom Mix, Jackie Coogan and many more.
