this was before hot fuss was even released. wow.

and somebody told me was released 3 months earlier, and the re-release of mr. brightside had been out for 2 weeks.

however, somebody told me wouldn't be re-released for some 7 months. this, right here, june 4th 2004, was right when mr. brightside began to hit it big in the uk. mr brightside was on the uk top 100 until 2 months ago. almost 6 years. so this was really the beginning of the (uk) mr brightside era.

Ok, that's a fair question. For TV shows like this, they need to mic up the amps and drums so the listeners at home can hear. Sometimes the bands will pre-record the song and then lip sync their own performance so it's a sure-fire thing they won't mess up. So, even though the guitars are electric you still need to mic up the cabinets to hear them clearly. Makes sense, right?

TOTP's promoted bands that didn't even need promoting, thus keeping younger artists from breaking through the "glass ceiling". TOTP's was more bothered about getting in bands that would get the most views, not bringing in bands with the most talent. Therefore, it could be argued it was killing music.
