Though there's been a lot of good SNL material over the years (of course not much over the past decade), as a whole Kids In The Hall was better than any era of SNL as far as I'm concerned. And it's by a lot. SNL's format is pretty sterile, and the amount of really unique or impressive material has always taken a back seat to the stuff that keeps its general appeal stable (parodies, impressions, lame recurring characters). Draws in lots of talent but always underutilizes it.

@rpaxon I tend to agree, but I also think what makes SNL more sterile is the fact that it's done almost completely live- If you can take the camera with you, I think you get better results, which is why their new digital shorts are the funniest part of the show.

Like 'em all but Dave and Bruce are def my favs, I'd say Bruce the most. His sense of humor is hilariously absurd, especially how he uses it to pick apart the absurdity of modern society, making for bits that are a mix of silly, funny, and meaningful. His monologues are so great, hopefully his comedy albums are up to par whenever I get around to checking them out.
