everything on the guitar is stock. It's amazing, after 2 years, just one guitar, a cable, and an amp is all I need. I don't know how much I wasted on pedals, other guitars, etc. If you have an R8 you like, and a Germino amp, that's all you need. Period.
Yea It is a dream guitar really - I like the look of the pickguard, I can't "get under" the strings as well, or something like that. I like the feel with it off. Have you tried that?
no i like the look of the pickguard and idk every les paul i have played has it on so im keeping it on, except for like the standards and slash models ect. i love them man they are so nice
Thanks - 6l6 TAD, KT66's weren't good when I bought the amp. I am using two english greenback reissues. You should go play one if you can, but you will need to turn it up to at least 5 with a les paul, or 8 with a strat. You could go with 20 watt greenbacks, much quieter.
Thanks man. Interesting that you can get that tone w/o KTs. Even tho' they are subs for 6L6s...Would you attribute the tone to the speakers or preamp tubes?
Honestly, I think the amp and guitar are the largest ingredients. I'm running TAD 12ax7 as pre, and I have played the amp through different cabs with the same "footprint" of tone if you will.
Les Paul reissue, and the Germino. I think tubes would color the tone a little, but the main ingredients are there.
Thanks - honestly, the amp and guitar just do it. I have spent my whole life messing with pedals and amps with my strat. Just a les paul and a germino - presto - tone.
The tone and playing are just wonderful!!!! Great job man!!

the amp, the guitar & player all sound good here. i always take the guards off les pauls. to me, they look & play better without them. great stuff.

more than likely it's a combination
-the player
-the guitar
-the amp
-the speakers
-the room
-the mic

My favorite amps are Germinos!!! Nice Clip!

I wanted to put up an example of what this amp can do - in this genre. No effects, just a gibson les paul and the Germino.
Hope you all enjoy - I will try to get a strat clip up there shortly -
