And it's not like this is a one time thing. There are plenty of times where multiple news anchors and comentators state something false, like "if they don't comply, they'll be thrown in jail!". When they're called on it, they deny ever saying it, or throw out a scare phrase to make it seem like they're being attacked unjustly.

@bantms Your point was RT must be jealous of FOX News or Onion News Network since you hadn't heard of them, mine was that their viewership figures (indeed gleamed from wikipedia, I'm not trawling through archives to support a youtube comment) suggest that they're doing OK in terms of broadcasting to a large number of people. Therefore a lot of people have heard of them, even if you haven't. I didn't make any qualitative statements, or state any one network should be taken more seriously.

I don't see people going out of their way to point out CNN or MSNBC's mistakes. Fox News gets viewers. Even though they're slipping in viewership they're still doing better than anyone else and they get hate for it.

You could argue that I suppose when other networks criticise FOX, although I'd say it was more commercial rivalry than 'jealousy' per se. I'd argue, however, major news providers NEED to be constantly criticised to ensure journalistic quality and unbiased representation. When it comes to FOX I think individuals and non-news groups are particularly justified in criticising it. By British standards FOX news is just plain insane.

And it's not like this is a one time thing. There are plenty of times where multiple news anchors and comentators state something false, like "if they don't comply, they'll be thrown in jail!". When they're called on it, they deny ever saying it, or throw out a scare phrase to make it seem like they're being attacked unjustly.

There are liberal or less conservative stations of course, but that's quite different from being a (insert party) news station. Since I will never be a witness to the actual events that the story was made from, gathering the opposing views and formulating my own is my best option. It's entertaining to watch news from different countries on the same topic to see how it gets 'slanted' to push each countries agenda.
