I have a j custom ibanez, and i would say the best upgrade you could make on a guitar is switching the pickups. Dimarzios sould best with RG bodys and they only cost about 70$

I may not understand what you asking but.....

The only pickup by dimarzio that sounds different if you put it in backwards is the Steve's Special which sounds a little bassier.
