This issue is fixed in BT5r1.

Install this new version, and then 'msfupdate' to the latest version inside console

Open terminal,

cd /etc/init.d/

./mysql start

armitage

Then click on Start MSF

The mysql daemon must be started before Armitage will work.

open armitage in another console in the window to change the password by entering the above command...

after starting armitage, then trying the lsof -i :55553 command, it doesn't show any processes, also when I try connecting to metasploit from armitage it says using driver postgresql, and then it says there's some error w/ db_connect.

do u need to install backtrack or does it run off the disc?
