I'll give you only one question- Is this socket good when i'm using - Intel® Core™ i7 860 (2.8Ghz, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, Turbo, 8MB Cache, 45nm(Quad-core processor))???? Thanx for answer xD
@UTubeLightBulb first off, its 1156 not 1136, and core i7's run on both 1366 (core i7 920, 930, 940, 950, 960, 975k, 980x) aswell as socket 1156 (only core i7 860 and a couple more). the 1156 nes have a lower TDP of 90w vs 130w of the more expensive (and better) 1366 socket.
With 775 if you wanted cheaper you could just dump in a crappy Celeron and you were good to go and then upgrade to something better later. Now you have to buy the whole mobo too with the pleasure of knowing if you want to upgrade, all you can salvage is your RAM and daughter boards. Also, i5 is capable of something like 4 or 6 (can't remember) threads, i7 (1156) 8 threads and the REAL i7 (1366) is 12 threads I believe. However, tests aren't showing much gain with triple channel memory.
So what exactly is the point of the new socket? Normally with each socket revision you are seeing improvements, but this is a few steps backward. Seems very pointless, unless the new items are cheaper than existing tech?
Ohh just shut up all of you >:c
Buy an AMD AM3 based PC and that's all.
Waaaaay better compatibility, and relatively futureproof

LGA1156 i5 = 4 cores, 4 threads, dual channel
LGA1156 i7 = 4 cores, 8 threads, dual channel
LGA1366 i7 = 4 cores, 8 threads, triple channel

@LinusTechTips I Only didnt get an i7 920 because I was advised to get a 860(LGA1156) because of the better clock speeds

Cheaper, runs a little cooler with less voltage, and in some cases that I have seen out performes the i7.
