  • I use a haiyan memory. is that good?

  • @mrbob806 Have you ever used a ZhanChi? Fail. Buttery smooth and oh so fast. I think it is the best for any cuber who doesn't already have a solid speedcube and is already under 30 seconds. However, I have also heard very good things about the Ghosthand II

  • he has a finger injury. as a speedcuber, I personally know how much that sucks. I got a papercut on my left ring finger, and it doubled my times for a full week =/

  • @SpeedStackKid how long have you had a cube?

  • 2 mins is not a beginner!!!!!!!!!!

  • Didn't you pwn the world record with a DaYan 5 Zhanchi?

  • @missannacole look at the date this video was uploaded.

  • I wonder why everyone says buying a speed cube if you're a beginner won't make you faster. I used to solve in 1:30 on a store-bought, but when I got my DaYan Guhong Colored, am at like 50 seconds, maybe less.

  • @TheRyanpatton Give a pro the cheapest cube you can get, I bet you a fortune Zemdegs can still solve it under 20...

  • The best cubes are DaYan 3 (LingYun) and DaYan 5 (ZhanChi)

  • i have the original rubik's cube, is that god

  • @cheesetortilla hell NO! if you want to get ANY faster, get ANY other cube than that trash!

    Rubiks, bahumbug.

  • @MrSkatingman44 regular rubik's cubes actually aren't that bad. But everything else like 4x4 and 5x5 suck ass. But rubik's brand is terrible compared to like a dayan zhanchai

  • @TheMrcobain yup :P

  • are u felix. Dont blame me if this question is lame but still i never sai a nything about being felix

  • @iMJT200 fazrulz1 is felix's youtube account

  • What sort of lubricant do you use? Living in Australia I'm not sure if you can get Jig a loo or rubix because of customs

  • @MycroDomin witeden, amazon, lightake, e3cubes, or dealcool

  • where can i buy a guhong?

  • blue type f is good. its better for some reason than other type fs.

  • I'm getting a guhong DOM material and the Alpha V (Hayan memory is basically a modefied Alpha V) I found them on cubedepotusa

  • wow I did not relize there was so much behind a rubicks cube....What why iam i even looking up things about the rubicks cube.

  • @GaMeOvErRules because you have one and are watching this to get faster. or, you have surfed through 50 videos for 5 hours and have posted 60 comments,27 of which were spam. youre welcome.

  • @MrSkatingman44 yeah nice trying to insult me. And btw if someone posted a comment a month ago dont even bother trying to insult them. I did not even remember the comment, I had to go and look it up. Also I could prob solve the rubiks cube twice as fast as you can.

  • @GaMeOvErRules whoa it was a joke. sorry if i insulted you man. i actually didnt even check when you posted that so, sorry again, my highest apologies.

  • I use a store bought cube for about 2 months and my average is 38 and my pb is 33.14 should i get a diy?

  • @adrianchong1 no, buy a Dayan ZhanChi

  • @markthema3 did you read the description? fail

  • i'm not too rough with my cube, but i tend to have alot of trouble with lock ups using my store bought, which cube should i buy?

  • can i use a dayan zhanchi spring set for a cube for you core?

  • lol i had a rubik's store bought cube and it was so shit my times were around 40-50 secs so i decided to get a DIY cube and trust me its worth it if you wanna become a speed solver now my times are around 20 secs for average

  • i avg like a minute 10...

    doing cross/side/edges/cross/top/corner/edge

  • what happened to just buying a fucking rubiks cube?

  • my average is about 45 seconds ..do you recommend buying the zhanchi?

  • i use the cube with stickers and i got 32 seconds. is that good?

  • Where can we buy DIY cubes??

  • @rinegan321 Cube4You.([0m)

    they have a huge variety.

I also got my c4u from Dealextreme.(c)om cause i only got it for $7.48

  • I can't find part 5 of the tutorial

  • @Hallsville3 in case u didn't know he is fully aware of that because this was posted 2 years ago

  • in case you didnt know your the world record holder now lol

  • this video is rly rly old and there are a ton of new cubes now. buy a zhanchi

  • get the zanchi or some other cube like that

  • wich one is the best cube?

  • resistance to pop - lunhui, 'nuff said, that thing NEVER pops. EVER

  • lol whats a doi

  • Which one is the best over all?

  • why the guhong is now illegal in competitions?

  • @hermanoscabra It's not...

  • @hermanoscabra I just used a guhong at a competition on june 4th, they are fine to use

    guhongs are still legal

  • how many friends do you have? :P

  • anyone know where i can get an edison cube here in the US, because im not seeing any

  • and now the main cubes r the DaYan Guhong,Alpha V 5...

  • i have an Alpha V-f...i average around 50 secs...lol...im just now memorizing the rest of my oll algs...

  • hey dude wat abt "cubic's" rubick's cube??

  • Faz, please subtitles, make a text if be possible

  • lol it 2011 were is part 3

  • i can do the cube in 40.04 seconds, should i buy a diy, because i doubt that i will get a better time than that with a standard rubiks cube.

  • @RubiksSubMinute yep. I just got a DIY dayan lingyun and I broke my personal best after only 7 solves! ( previous PB: 38.74(I have a video of it) New PB: 36.23)

  • @RubiksSubMinute You really will, I haven't been cubing too long (3 weeks) but my 1 minute average (That's with a standard rubiks AND beginners method) went down to 46 second average just with a diy kit man. It's imperative that you get one.

  • hi, im sovling storeboard rubik's cube for like 1month, average 1;30 and im not very accurate when try to solve it at high speeds :/ it blocks very often :/

  • i have F xD

  • what is the fastest method you know.. i just learned a couple days ago using pogobats video but my time is 4:57

  • I ordered the Hayan Memory cube, how'd you think that's gunna work out for me? Personal best with crappy storebought Rubik's brand is 36.59 and I average around 55 seconds. Thx in advance

  • i hit around 30 seconds with rubiks brand cube.... its actually not that bad of a cube if you break it in and lube it

  • the fuck is a diy cube?

  • 2 good cubes are dayan guhong and dayan lingyun (dayan II)(dayan III) ;)

  • hey feliks....i use a cube which has a logo "Rubik's Cube" in its white side...is it good??or shd i move to DIY???if yes then which type?? BTW..i average in the lower 20s...around 20-22 secs.

  • i have a haiyan memory cube (modded a5)

  • I can only get about 2.5 min out of my store bought, a major problem is because it locks up on me lol, i was thinking of getting an A-2 but i cant find one anywhere, can someone give me a link please =) (and im open to cube suggestions please)

  • some say you were now using dayan guhong, is that true?

  • from where can I buy the fast cube online?

  • i have a crap store bought ,and i avarage sub 1min, getting diy soon tough would it help alot?

  • Do you know where you can buy fast cubes already assembled? I fail epically when it comes to setting the tension!! :S

  • Hello. My avg time is about 35 seconds with store bought cube. I am quite an accurate turner, and rarely cut corners. I am looking for a cube that very very very rarely locks up, doesn't really pop, but cutting corners isn't that important. Should I get type aII or aIII? Whichever one, could you link me to that specific cube? It's hard to determine which is which on the cube4you website. Thank you!

  • sometime you should update this video, what with all these popbuying things that weren't as accessible before. Now ghosthands, yj's and F-II's are everywhere

  • Type d iz da best, tip a3 sux

  • it's personal preference :)

some people love to do fluid moves, these people will go for type d

some people love to do quick staccato moves, they'll use type a3

some peoples love heavy loaded cube, they'll buy edison or type a1

some people love light weight cube, they'll get type a3

so... if type d great for you, it sucks for me... truly... i have like 10 type d. and i only use them to memorizing algs

and when the muscle memory builds, type a3f / rubik's diy arise :)

    happy cubing

  • please dont ruin it with comments like this, either explain your opinion or link to more info.

  • well the rubiks 3x3 locks up a lot, that is why i ordered a diy because i then can set my own tension. but the rubiks 4x4 is a good cube to use, doesn't lock up as much as the 3x3 in my opinion

  • im sorry but i have to disagree lol, i lubed up my 3x3 and its really not too bad but my rubiks 4x4 pops and locks so much its terrible.

  • wel maybe it's because i have my 4x4 for a really long time now :)

    annyway i like my 4x4 ;)

  • thats good lol, maybe mine just suckssss

  • about the tension, how loose is loose and how tight is tight? what is the best tension for type c?

  • not true i average 30 secs with my diy and if i use a store bought my times rocket up to over a minute because they turn like crap

  • I average 23 secs on a Rubiks cube storebrought and the same on Rubiks diy.

  • @88festivasam When poeple have storeboughts they cant do fingur tricks. So when they get a diy they dont to it either. They have to learn how to. When you learn you get much faster so when you go back to a store bought it is impossible to do fingure tricks which you have gotten used to when you use a diy and thats why your times are slower.

  • @88festivasam then you are a nooby. i have that standard original rubik's cube and it turns shit. but though i get average of 40 seconds. and i'm doin' this for 2 and a half weeks

  • @88festivasam its not that the storebought makes u slower its just that you have developed sloppy turning since DIYs cut corners, you need to get more accurate

  • is type c good? cause thats what im getting

  • Cheers for this video, my rubik's is far too loud to solve in the back of maths class. :D

I'm still deciding which type to buy after this excellent vid, ^^

  • im using a cubeforyou diy core+ storebought cubies

  • when i do that, it pops every 3 turns.

  • You have to set the tension a little tighter than average.

  • try to make a 3x3 illusion cube like the v-cube illusion cube.

i made one and it looks funny.

  • an amazing cube combo is a black joy cube core w/ white edison cubies. it's amazing. VERY quiet cube. almost feels like i put vaseline in it, but i didn't put anything in there. Too bad they don't sell joy cubes anymore....

but anyway, joy cube core + white edison cubies has few pops, cuts corners well, and it's very easy to move.

  • I have puzzle proz white cubies on cube4you springs with PPType A core, its very good

  • I got the core of a storebought which is 5-6 years old, and its better than a DIY but it is kinda...Awesome, fast but not like...smooth :)

  • I've got the one around 5:55. Although the stickers are textured. they're really smooth

  • typ D pops like hell

  • you forgot storeboughts never pop.

  • at first, no. But as they get more worn in and lubed, they pop. I have had 2 of them that got really good, then they started popping. Even at slow solve speeds. Maybe due to over lubing? (CRC) but just my 2cents.

  • i use magic cubes when siliconed and sanded and right tension is really good

  • Just got my 1st edison. Fantastic outta the box. No adjustment or lube (came assembled and lubed) and was near perfect. Smoother than my C4YOU cube but much louder and clickier (is there such a word? LOL) Good vid.

  • what should i use? im rough and not accurate lol

  • yeah me too lol

  • Why type aII jun! Or an edison

  • edisons are locky

  • My new black edison is really good. Not locky for me (1 min 20 sec avg) but is loud and clicky. Love it outta the box. stickers are great but not fantastic. Already peeling and bubbly. But 100% better than rubiks brand stickers. Will replace with my cubesmith stickers or tiles.

  • lol im thinking a store bought for you..... jk

  • aare you sure that edisons and joy cubes are korean?

im pretty sure they are japanese

i know that the site is in japanese and the owner is japanese. (im japanese too)

great video too! cant wait for the other parts!

  • made in korea - yes

  • Just got my Edison from Korea. Really FAST shipping and great quality. Ohyio gozimasta (i know i didnt spell that right..lol )

  • Lol but that's a japanese name.

    Korean names are very different.

Maybe its a japanese guy selling korean cubes

  • ohio gozaimasu

  • @theWestonian LOL NO THEY'RE KOREAN NOOB! :P

  • @theWestonian just the site is japanese

the cubes are made in korea.

  • @theWestonian they are actually korean not japanese

  • Thanks for the video series, I look forward to the rest of the videos as this one was quite thorough and educational. Great job!

  • im waiting for the other parts!

  • I know you are :p Cross tips will be up tonight

  • I dont know if ill ever leave my storebought :) I love it, and I'm not sure if its considered fast but I am sub 20.

Off topic: Can you get a sub 12 average with a storebought?

  • yes ofc =) nakajima had a video bout 2 years ago with a sub12 avg and had a storebought cube. just needs a bit of lubricant and wearing in.

  • Yes i know about the wearing in. Mine is worn in and is my main cube :) I average about 18 with it. Do you think a good DIY will help my times a little?

  • no idea, bout probably. i dont own diy yet. but im not bad with with store bought. i think, ye for sure, u could be like 16s without too much further practice

  • yes, what cubing style are you? Smooth, accurate, rough?

  • Smooth and accurate

  • then.... get a new type aIII, a cube4you cube, or an edison.

  • Ok thanks :)

  • lol and even before that nakajima had a 10.84 average of 12 with a storebought on speedcubing uwr. that's where the 1084 in his username comes from lol

  • wow, I didn't know that! As i mentioned in the video, storeboughts can be good.

  • yeah, and most people thought like he reached the limits of speedcubing at the time he got it xD

  • no, as mine isnt broken in. I won it from lawrence leung and have only done a few solves on it. Storeboughts can be amazing though

  • I think you should recommend Type A old since that is the basic DIY to me.

  • yeah I mentioned it in the video. For more details, see the thread on speedsolving.

  • Very good tutorial! This is well explained, and it's obvious that you know a lot about the subject.

  • Really? Coming from a respected cuber like yourself, that means alot to me. Thankyou.

  • Getting well known on YouTube is easy. Getting 11 second solves is not. If there's any respect to be had, I think you've earned it more than I have.

  • I think it's quite the opposite :)

  • lol lancetheblueknight u pwn
