  • Also Hareton's hot.

  • This Movie makes me want to shower over and over and over and over and .........

  • I am glad Ralph did not age how fuckable!

  • god this is a long fricken movie. East of Eden must be longer fuck.

  • Why is part 8 flagged?

    Thanks for uploading

  • Hareton is quite the hunk. :)

  • this is one of my favourite versoions of the book, i love Ralph as Heathcliff i think he was perfect for the part!

  • hareton is hot...he ressembles a bit heathcliff

  • wow Linton's a massive whiny douche

  • I will never understand what on earth they were thinking when they made Juliette Binoche play Catherine when she was 12, when she was an adult and even her daughter, it's probably the worst thing in the movie...

  • The narrator is so terrible

  • @bonanw it's Sinéad O'Connor

  • The people who aged this lot were the same as the ones who aged Harry Potter et al in Part ii of the deathly hallows! Using the same girl is rubbish for both parts. And all with ever increasing French dialect? Sigh. The Yorkshire Moors via Versailles.

  • @sunrayvista Yeah Heathcliff''s Yorkshire accent went south in part 4. The Director must have been pissed.

  • I love the look on nellys facewhen catherine goes off its like oh sh*t :-P

  • In the book, she was 13 when she met Hareton and Heathcliff for the first time.

  • haha for a moment i thought heathcliff was hitting on catherine jr :D

  • omg hareton is hot <3

  • must be the clean fresh spring water! lol

  • I'm confused...

  • I love this movie, but I still think it's stupid Juliette Binoche played both characters. Adding to the fact, Heathcliff should have at LEAST a few streaks of gray in his hair. He'd be hot anyway...

  • @twiwonder : Yeah, well-said. Their stylist should have been wiser.

  • 8:29 he looks exactly like Bradley Cooper in this shot.

  • CATHY PLAYS CATHY!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Is catherine Mr. Schuh ex-wife in glee...?

  • Awts, they have omitted the part that Isabel died and Edgar sent for Linton

  • Wow, Hareton does look like Fabio freaky

  • 0:01 And if you wanna sing out, sing out! And if you wanna be free be free! Cause there's a million things to be. You know that there are!

And if you wanna say yes, say yes! And if you wanna say no, say no! 'Cause there's a million ways to go. You know that there are!

You can do what you want! The opportunity's on! And if you find a new way, you can do it today! You can make it all true! Or you can make it undo, you see! Ah, it's easy... err...

Do you go to many funerals, Harold?

  • What happened to Heathcliffs wife?

  • @bocatsmom After the death of Cathy, she found out that she was pregnant and left Heathcliffe. Isabella spent the rest of her life hiding in London with some contact from Edgar. She dies in hiding hoping that Heathcliffe does not find Linton

  • @ChildOfTheFlower Wow! Don't know how I missed all that. That is really sad. Heathcliff is such a nasty jerk. Thanks for the reply.

  • @bocatsmom she died in childbirth

  • @Noveltybauble Don't know how I missed that. Thanks for the reply.

  • Linton "ha,ha,ha *cough* *cough* :D

  • hareton looks like he should be heathcliff's son!

  • @xXxXInspireMeXxXx True. That sexy nose and wild hair.

  • damn hareton looks like he stepped of a romance book front cover lol!this is a timeless story althogh it is very dark it shows they were soulmates its kinda scary how much love can u and those around you...

  • The book is so much better...Indeed a masterpiece.

This movie is actually a waste of resources with nothing to show. Could not even portray the intensity of Cathy and Heathcliff.

  • Linton is such a bitch.

  • in the book linton marries cathy on heathcliffs orders in order for him to possess trushcrass grove, linton is a sickly boy and dies, shortly after heathcliff slowly becomes manic and doesnt eat, he dies, in the end cathy and hereton marry on christmas eve, and heathcliff is buried next to catherine.

  • I always thought Edgar, althogh a bit whimpish, was the real victim out of all the first generation of characters...

  • Having Juliette Binoche play both Catherines was a mistake - especially considering that she's not convincing as a Yorkshire lass - she's a good actress but I think she was miscast. Still, this is an interesting version - I always like Hareton in every version I see.

  • dayum hareton is hot... and linton.... MEH

  • They left out the part about Isabella running away and Linton and Cathrine meeting when they were still kids

  • mm hello hareton! :) ahaa

  • Young Linton ain't like in the book. Here I only want to strangle him. In the book I wanted to torture that annoying little bastard slowly to death >_>

  • @foxyrou poor minds like you would see it that way...it's a rare and beautiful love that is really hard to find! ...albert einstein and darwin found it

  • Comment removed

  • @foxyrou It's how it was back then, people married inside the family to keep the family fortune inside the family. Further back people married their brothers and sisters, not just their cousins. :P It's like how slavery was, we see stuff wrong today that was viewed as okay in the past. BUTYEAH, my point is it's kind of mean to call someone a freak based on who they like. Just like with homosmeksuality. ANYWAY BACK TO CRAP ENGLISH WORK.

  • @hoodge95 At least...I think I know what you mean.

  • @hoodge95 I see what you mean exactly so you're saying he'll see her as her mother more

  • Woahhh,,, I'm confused! I thought Cathy was dead?

  • @Musicluvit7 it's cathy's daughter- her and edgar's.

they named her catherine too. sooo catherine jr. basically. confusing, i know.

i had to read the first quarter of the book twice just to understand the characters.

  • The deal is, every character in Wuthering Heights is never able to rise above their own selfishness. Even Nelly (Ellen Dean), our narrator is flawed and speaking from a skewed perspective. Throughout the book, all of them show different forms of love at different points, but none of them have the empathy necessary to be more than their inherent selfishness and revengeful natures. The only silver lining is from Hareton and Cathy the younger who are able to overcome their obstacles and find peace.

  • hareton is pretty hot lol

  • @cbloom1991 haha yea totally

  • @cbloom1991 haha yeah totally

  • why would they make catherine, the mother and catherine, her daughter the same person?!!?!?

  • @sn7snowx3333 Cathy (mother) & Cathy (daughter) are meant to be like replicas of eachother in the book - so in the film they used the same person -but, they might just like confusing us too :)

  • @katherinewalker12 in the book cathy is not so similar to her mother,at all!they are only the same eyes,so i can't understand why here they used the same person

  • @Steffifanny30 you have to put in your mind when you turn a story into a movie, you have to make some changes, certainly according to how did you understood that story. I think the director of the movie wanted to focus on Cathy's influence upon Heathcliff, so he used the same actress to act as the Catherine the mother, and Catherine the daughter.

  • @zola1313hk I totally agree,in fact i'm only saying that what katherinewalker12 had said wasn't true, because in the book tehy are not similar

  • @hoodge95 Really? She looks like 30 something to me. If I'm not mistaken Juliette was 28 years old when she acted in this movie.

  • @hoodge95 I understand, but those reasons you mentioned did happen, in the book but not with Cathy, with Hareton, Heathcliff saw Catherine in his eyes, but maybe in the movie it was easier to understand if it was the daughter who looked so much like Cathy. Still, Juliette Binoche does not look like a teenager. As Cathy should. Does that make sense?

  • aww, I love hareton!

  • 18 yrs have passed... and heathcliff looks the same lol

  • @mxrty78 That's what it was like in the 19th Century baby!

  • @mxrty78

    16 years..

  • ok this same actress thing is annoying me

  • @throughthefishtank Yeah me too. especially when Cathy Linton is not suppoused to look THAT MUCH like her mother. I think in the book says, she looked more like her father with her blonde hair, except for her eyes and her nose, those were her mother's. Hareton on the other hand, it is suppoused to like a bit like Catherine.

  • the only reason this part of the movie didnt confuse me, is because i read the book. that being said, the whole same name/actress would only add to the confusion.

and is it just me or isnt it awkward how cathy just hops on heathcliff's horse when she just met him???

  • Fiennes looks like a more handsome Christopher Eccleston, don't you think? :P

  • mamuzo1: Catherine is dead, the blonde girl that looks like Catherine is her daughter Cathy.

  • sorry,I didn't read a book,but is Linton Katherine's and Heathcliff's son?

  • @Loreana0 No Linton is the son of Isabella and Heathcliff. Catherine Linton (the blonde one) is the daughter of Cathy (brunette the elder) and Edgar.

  • @Loreana0 No Linton is the son of Isabella and Heathcliff. Catherine Linton (the blonde one) is the daughter of Cathy (brunette the elder) and Edgar.

  • @melz4ever10

    Thank you :)

  • im so confused. i thought catherine was dead? if she is then why is heathcliff writing a letter to catherine? its so confusing..i understood everything until the part when catherine died. someone please explain. thanks

  • @mamuzo1 She is dead. Heathcliff is dictating a letter to Linton so he can send it to the younger Catherine (the daughter) as if it was Linton who wrote it as bait to get her to return to Wuthering Heights. But as he speaks it aloud he somewhat means it as if it was meant for Cathy (the mom).

  • reading the comments it seems that, if you haven't read the book, this particular film adaption with confuse the pants off me and if you have, like me, find this it rather sub par to other versions and indeed the original novel.

  • omg they used the same actress for both cathys, they were so different according to the book..this sucks,

  • thats a bit of a rip off. They just dyed juliettes hair blonde and passed her off as cathy's daughter. =P

  • incest gets 'em every time.

  • lotsa hawwt guysss in this lol

  • i like the second half of the film better than the first

  • why did heathcliff name his son linton?

  • Oh how I hate Linton. -.- Okay so he's the result of Heathcliff's treatment but I still... argh! x)

  • 4:57 - 5:00

"...you do you do" lol ;P

  • My goodness, the fact Juliette Binoche is also the second Cathy is funest, these actors are all so terrific but I don't like the movie at all.

  • i don't think ralph phinnes is evil enough for heathcliff. nor is juliette binoche wild enough for cathy. there are better versions of the book.

  • WHY IS HEATHCLIFF HUGGING THE DEAD?!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! catherine will haunt you!!!! SCARY!!

  • J. Binoche is a terrific actress (just watch her in "Blue"), but Cathy she is not. It ruined it for me, actually...

  • who is the girl with blond hair that nelly called her CATHERINE???

  • it's the daughter of the first Catherine (Earnshaw) and Edgar Linton. Nelly took care of her when Cathy was still at Grange

  • Emily Bronte would really have made it easier on all her future readers if there were more diverse names in the book ;)

though i think that normally you call Catherine Earnshaw Catherine, and her daughter - Cathy

  • heathcliff looks like he has a fake tan

  • HAHHAHAHA!

    So true!

  • hindley dead? good! good for me in the book, but i see just 1 beating up between hindley and heathcliff. hindley seems a good boy here in the movie

  • Movies never match the books....

  • Hareton's body is like jajajajajjajnwasjjasnjzm.

  • at least, poor edgar had catherine to love him and comfort him..something good came out from his marriage to cathy

  • The story was cut up!!!!?!

Hareton is well-done!! and Linton sucks as in the book! He's so boring in the novel... and Nelly doesn't like him at all. And I agree with you Kitty : t embody Catherine Linon, Binoche is not avery good choice...

  • Oh my god. I can't believe that juliette binoche is also playing the young catherine linton. She was terrible enough in the role of the first catherine. It is a little bit exaggarated to let her play to characters. That's very strange oO

  • OH MY GOD! WHY DID THEY USE THE FIRST CATHERINE INTO THE SECOND CATHERINE????? THE FIRST ONE IS ENOUGH BECAUSE SHE'S TERRIBLE IN THE FIRST ONE. AND THEY MUST USE A DIFFERENT ACTRESS TO BE THE CATHERINE NUMBER 2. AND WHY DOES SECOND CATHERINE HAS THE SAME NAME AS HER MOTHER? NO GOOD! they must make the name christine instead of the same name...

  • Juliette binoche is a terrible actress, she is so mellow . and Cathy was wild and a bich. they failed miserably having binoche for the role. she ruined the film for me.

  • Heathcliff and Hareton are HOT!

  • Cathy is supposed to be much more mean to Hareton...

  • i thought heathcliff knocked isabella up

  • he did... ¬.¬

  • edgar called the daughter cathy and the mother catherine (because heathcliff called the mother cathy)

especially in the beggining when heathcliff calls out to the ghost of catherine after lockwood claimed he saw it, he says cathy.

  • same actress is slightly strange - but fitting, don't they say the Catherines are very alike?

  • did I say blue eyes? that was stupid. She's described to have the exact same brown eyes as Cathy isn't she? yeah ignore the blue eyes thing

  • I always imagined cathy being like her mother exactly, only with blue eyes and blonde hair and maybe softer features..so I think using the same actress wasn't all that bad, kinda emphasises how difficult it must be for Heathcliff to have her around

  • No. Young Catherine id discibed not to look like her mother

  • quite the opposite. where cathy is described as a bit of a devil, catherine, younger, is described as an angelic looking girl who looks nothing of her mother.

  • I always thought the same thing. It would be agonizing for him, wouldn't it?

  • Edgar always called her Cathy not Catherine and Healthcliff called her Catherine not Cathy. I think she should have been played by a different actiress

  • I thought it was the other way round in the book. Or I think Edgar always called her cathy but Heathcliffe called her by both...

  • That poor girl!

  • how stupid that little cathy is the same actress!!! wtf!

  • You think so? When I read the book I imagined Cathy and her daughter being very alike : same face and same character.

  • he didnt quite use the son tbh i prefer another version of this film its wya better.. x

  • i want to see the little Linton :'(

  • lol..that bitter jerk Healthcliff. The way he flings his coat and pushes little Hareton at 1:01-1:02. You know he is up to no good.

  • Poor Edgar... :'(

  • It's not like in the book!!! Book is so better!!! Kathy should be more passionate ,and Heath.more brutal!

  • I'd agree but I also...don't. hehe. I agree this movie may not be perfect but I still think it's a pretty close call. ;)

  • @missleayvonne87 Heathcliffe is so evil.

  • @missleayvonne87 The movie is NEVER like the book

  • Wow, they skipped alot! It certainly moved things along but it might have explained more if the Linton and Cathy had previously met like in the book.

I am pretty impressed at how closely they stuck to the book.

They're making another version of this that will come out in 2010. Hopefully it will stick closely as well.

  • I'm pretty impressed with its loyalty to the book too! And I'm so engaged by the performance of the actors..!

Sadly, I have LOTS of doubts about the 2010 version. They casted that guy from Gossip Girl as Heathcliff and frankly, I'm not happy with that. :(

  • Oh, I didn't know there was a new one coming out!

  • Isn't Cathy suppose to llok more like her father than her mother?

  • yep she ment to be blonde with blue eyes like her dad and her cousin Hindleys son is ment to look like Catherine

  • Oh good,Hareton is hot

  • stupid sick asshole (heathcliff son)....

  • this is the most twisted love movie iv ever seen

  • those who think the movie is twisted have NO idea how dark, revolting and yet utterly fascinating the book is.

  • is it like a rule in this story that all the mothers have to die?

  • No but the mother of the Bronte children died when the children (six of them) were very young so it's kind of a recurring theme in the girls' writings.

  • it was quite common in the victorian times

  • Wow. I wish they would have showed more of her childhood, relationship with her father/nelly, and her good heart

  • hareton is rather hot :) so is heathcliff :D gooooo children of storn :D!!! people who studied this book should know

  • what do you mean by "children of storm?" I'm interested! :)

  • aww the children from the Heights originally are Cathy (older), HEathcliff, Hindley and the children of calm are Isabella and Edgar.

calm and storm were used to describe them because of the pathetic fallacy and the way they are connected with nature. storm because of their untamed characters (espec. Heathcliff) and the intense passion they project unto others, wheras children of calm are the civilised ones. see the difference? lol i just quickly summarised for you :)

  • Wow...it's really obvious that YOU didn't read the book since you got everything wrong...

Linton is Heathcliff and Isabella's son.

    Hareton is Hindley's son.

  • Linton is actually Isabella and Heathcliff's son. Hareton was Hindley's son, who's mother, Frances, died soon after Hareton was born.

  • Exactly, CaramelChan!!!

Glad to see someone who actually knows what their talking about!!! :)

  • Edgar as an old man is good.

  • they sure skipped a lot of important parts in the book.... linton's supposed to have lived with cathy for at least one day

  • ohhh.. hareton's kinda cute...

  • Heathcliff is scary in the ending, by what he says at least.

  • wait a minute, who is the other cousin, not hareton? who are his parents?

  • That is Linton...Heathcliff and Isabella's son.

  • thanks for clarifying. i didn't know they had a son, they kind of skipped that part. I'm only halfway through the book.

  • Knjiga i film nidje veze...

  • omg hareton is really hotttt <3<3

  • I know right XD

  • Hareton is not that hot! His nose looks funny. And Cathy looks more reddish than blonde.

  • Take it off, Hareton!!!!! Take it ALL off!!!!

    :D YEAH, BABY, YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • Hareton is gorgeous!! Sigh...

  • Ralph Fiennes did an excellent job. as always.

  • the movie is very hard to follow unless you've read the book; they left so much out. the book is absolutely amazing though. and yes, hareton is HOT. lol

  • i hate how they had the same person play catherine earnshaw and cathy linton because their not even supposed to look alike exacpt for there eyes

  • no they are supposed to look exactly alike.

  • Actually that's not true. I just read the book and it says that she looked nothing like Catherine except for their eyes, while it's Hareton that is supposed to look a lot like Cathy.

  • dang..hareton's kinda hot

  • Hareton IS hot! Wow.

  • I think they should've cast another actress to play the second Cathy instead of the same one. I can understand that they were trying to convey how they looked alike but still i think it would've made it less confusing.

  • fer sher dude

  • DAAAAAAAAMN Hareton is hottt!

  • wait so who's the blonde??

  • Catherine Linton, Cathy + Edgar's daughter. Cathy died while giving birth.

  • Hareton Is Bloody Hot!
