  • Do all CSX crews change at Selkirk or do any crews pass right through Selkirk and keep it moving

  • Not quite sure but, many of them do change crews. I know that some intermodal hotshots (highest priority) will keep the crews. That's actually a good question. I'm going tomorrow, if I run into any employees there, I'll ask.

  • I'm really looking forward to see what they might tell you. Good luck out there, peace and chicken grease!!!!!

  • DIdn't see any crews, but I did have an unfortunate encounter with the CSX police. Sorry

  • Wow, that really sucks. You know what I'm really hoping for 1 of these days, that they'll allow a T&E crew to travel across the country one of these days. Like for example they'll have a crew go from NY to Illinois and ever 12 to 16 hours they take an 8 to 10 hour break until they reach their destination and work the same hours and rest coming back home. That would make the job so interesting, but unfornately things aren't like that or at least for now.

  • Well I guess that would be cool but, not practical. Could you imagine going almost 7500 miles on a train? It'd take a month for the one train to cross the country.

  • Well actually, Illinois is 781 miles away from NY, so a around trip would be about 1500 miles and that would take about 11 to 14 days round trip, if they changed the rules like that. A trip from here to florida on a freight would've been 2 weeks or maybe to and a half weeks and that round trip would've lasted about 2 and a half weeks and that would've been about 3,000 miles. Even truck drivers at times spend a month away from home. Who knows, the future might just actually look like that soon.

  • Oh ok, I wasn't thinking straight late at night last night, haha! Just so you know, I did some research on why Ben's Bridge was closed, and I found out that the bridge actually belongs to the county, not the railroad as you said. I'm not trying to be all in your face about it, just thought you might like to know it.

  • Pretty interesting, thank you for your time!!!!!
