  • one thing i learned watching this video. doctors are great people

  • Is the guy at 32:05 doctor?! Lol caused he'd be the chillest doc like ever

  • lololol at 20:50 " is there anything we did particulary, that was way out of line, Yeah shootin me! hahahahaha

  • Where is this from and is there any more?

  • @biggieshot2pac i believe somewhere in Los Angeles. only because when the police come to pick up the cheeseburger guy they tell him they're taking him to the El Segundo PD. (which is in LA)

  • Great video, represents an authentic look into our world of trauma, illness, and death. After being a Paramedic for 15 years you get very much desensitized, it doesn't mean that I or anyone in this video don't care, but you absolutely CAN'T take it personally, otherwise your own mental health will fall apart. Death is an inevitable part of life, but it becomes a tragedy when it happens early in one's life or when suffering precedes it. I wish everyone in this video the best, good work, RIP.

  • oh horseshit..Put yourself in the officer's place. Look, police are trained for weeks..WEEKS..they are trained to handle these situation. I think he got himself shot by maybe some rookie with an itchy trigger. Police are trained...citizens USUALLY are not..Then again..the whole story isn't being presented..but asking a victim to put themselves in the police's shoes is horse shit.

  • I work in a level 1 hospital as a nurse tech in the suburbs and typically we have lots of car accidents and many with alcohol related, I absolutely love my job and in nursing school, this video was on point

  • @BauAshley That's right Ashley..I've been a trauma nurse for 18 years and now I am logging commercial hours as a pilot for LIFE FLIGHT...I absolutely love what I do. I love taking care of people and I love flying helicopters for LIFE FLIGHT..I am a true trauma junkie..and what's even better..is my only daughter (6 boys 1 girl) is following in my footstepts..makes me proud..she's got the bug!

  • I live in a suburban area with

  • I work in a Level 1 hospital as a Nurse Tech

  • OUTSTANDING!!!

  • Wow, I must say I was shocked when the man was dead they didn't show any respect whatsoever. Talking about cow knots etc while wrapping the body. No respect at all for the deceased. People laughing outside like nothing happened. I know their jobs go on, but still, no couth to any of them.

  • @metallicarocks123, the joking is a stress coping mechanism. They could'nt do their job if each death affected them too deeply. If they felt the way you wanted them to feel for every death they would have serious psychological problems, high stress and nightmares.

  • @LogosTheos I guess I never thought of it that way. Thank you. Just seems so cold to a life lost.

  • wow creepy the guy in the fancy clothing.

  • Holy shit, the noise of the leg cracking in,, damn.

  • " did u think he did anything that you feel fell out of line....(yea...he shot me).

  • The guy @ 19:00 onwards would make a great lawyer someday. Givin nothin to those fukkers even tho they are putting words in his mouth.."Umm yea..i looked up and bam"..lol..

  • Poor Bear.

  • "I opened the door and I walked out I looked up, police bang" Lol

  • 2:23 is Arnold from The Magic Schoolbus.

  • did rick Ross got fire from rapping..... that is him at 10:00 right...

  • Thanks so much for uploading this for us, it's a real look into an er, God bless those that work in them, especially at night, wow.

  • A night in the er without cameras is quite different. This is Jackson Memorial, Miami. Everyones a shit talking hero while on camera.

  • OMG WHAT HAPPENED ON 18:05

  • @rob3tola that is the sound of the ball of the hip sucking back into the socket in the pelvis.

  • For one, he recapped the needle. First mistake, secondly the patient is bleeding from the IM site, that's another mistake....

  • 90% was black shit there

  • They use paper clips to mark the wounds. Easier identification of where they are for other people. Just a little courtesy

  • @mrdeetothejay Pretty cool huh? I find it intriguing.

  • @mrdeetothejay for xray.

  • wow

  • did he bark?

  • Asystole is a non-shockable rhythm, however I'm pretty sure he was in vf when they shocked 360 the last time, and he then flat-lined & they called it. They could have tried bicarb, epi, or atropine but chances are w the amt of time he'd been down they had probably already tried using these meds (possibly lido as well dep on the rhythm) & they were ineffective, so the chances of them being effective later when he's in asystole are slim to none

  • @narucraze are you talking about the drive by victim...? I was wondering the same thing. Surely, its not to hold the wound together, like temporary stitches, until they can get a nurse to do the real stitches. Hmmmm?

  • I know see what everyone was talking about a cheesburger for now lol...His story doesn't sound right.

  • Can some one explain to me the use of the Paper clips please???

  • @20:19 McDonalds - proud sponsor of hospitalized criminals everywhere.

"bada ba ba ba... im lovin it"

  • @27brownsboy hHAHhh I agree! LOL. OMG, that man was really enjoying his chesseburger while talking to the polices and got shot! :)) The Doc or Nurse should stop him from eating in the ER. lol

  • @chocofrance right?? He just got shot, the last thing he needs is a damn cheeseburger and coke

  • @27brownsboy bada ba ba ba im robbing it

  • AT 25 MINS THAT MAN HAS A NASTY GREEN RASH ALL OVER HIS BODY . OH SORRY IT'S HIS SUIT.

  • ah man poor guy at 10min

  • The men in the green and tan uniforms that look like cops. Their patch says 'Los Angeles County Safety Police'; what is that?

  • What city is his in???

  • @mizzoufan1078 los angeles

  • why do they shock the asystole?

  • @gtyt38 Systole is when the ventricles contract, therefore asystole means there is no systole. This is by far the worst "arrhythmia". When the heart is not beating death is imminent... Shock Advised.

  • @yuutoober right, but as far as I am concerned, only ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia are the only shockable rhythms, certain types of bradycardia can be "paced" with hospital defibrillators/ECGs, and certain arrhythmias can be cardioverted. However, I believe that asystole is a non-shockable rhythm.

  • The ER gives lab workers a hard time for not hurrying with the patient. Hey we try, we can only go as fast as our instruments allow us

  • @knight72347 For real?

  • notice they're like all black people lol

  • @ryancouture thats inner city for ya

  • " HOW YOU DOING BUDDY......IM ALRIGHT..... OK START COUNTING FROM A HUNDRED BACKWARDS FOR ME....." (41:23) HILARIOUS. THIS IS A GREAT LOOK IN TO THE ER I LOVE IT! IM APPLYING FOR NURSING SCHOOL AND CANT WAIT TO BE THERE GOD WILLING!

  • The police are usually a-holes, Nazi's , however in this case, I think the guy who got shot was very very arrogant, albeit PO'd, but I don't think the guy really understand his part in all this.

  • I like the GSW guy eating the McDonald's. Classic ER behavior!

  • GINGER at 2:30! RUN!!!

  • Now that's Life in the ER in the Hood. LOL.

  • Or** excuse my typos.

  • I'm studying medicine. I plan on a career as a nurse it higher. I've always been fascinated with medical.science and helping people.

  • Bob marley didn't die he became a doctor.

  • I love the GSW guy eating McDonalds reminds me of my ER....

  • this video is very well shot, but only has 6856 views!? Since Februari 2010?! What the hell!? I bet if justin bieber or some idiots from jersey shore were in it, it would sky rocket instantly! Unbelieveble......

  • @periesicsd

This to me is more interesting than any celebrities, celebrities are boring useless creatures.

Doctors and nurses who save lives should be given a celebrity salary every year, due to their hard work and care

  • @periesicsd I know right, a 16 year old picking up other 16 year old if all fine and dandy. But a group of highly trained people saving lives, naa that boring. Sometimes people just don't make any sense to me.

  • @periesicsd Yeah, seeing those fucks in the ER would be awesome! :D

  • @periesicsd well its up to 35k now

  • @periesicsd Yea good video, I agree, but pretty much out dated. Most of the proceedures performed are considered dangerous, or non-effective from an acute medical stand point. The interpersonal documentary on the various patients, now that is priceless.

  • 18:05 i know how that feels like, only, i didn't got the sedation. Believe me, you want the sedation, because it hurts like shit!!!

  • Im a borat and I work in the hospital I tie bodys like cows.....its nice lmao

  • Wish I was smart enough to be a doctor :/

  • @luis3826 it's not about being smart, it's about working hard.

  • At 24:00 what is he talkin about? I mean I saw the part where it said man under influence but what was his deal?

  • 35:00.Imagine,you're that dead guy, not quite brain dead yet, listening to how the dude learnt that knot back in mexico, when tying up cows! What a way to go,getting bagged and cow tyed on camera...

  • @kzam717 I agree. I found it hard to look at that scene, lack of respect, not just the "filming it", but the way they were all talking about him, almost as if he was in fact a dead cow.

  • anybody know when this was filmed...early 90's i assume?

  • There is awful chaos!

    Here very hardly to work.

  • @ 20:18 get shot...eat a cheeseburger

  • @stephenexmachina LOLLLLLLL.

  • They do that more than people would like to think...give people medication against their will that is. They always give Ativan to "calm you down". I'm a nursing student, I think it's wrong, but I believe folks do have the right to refuse a medication if they are in theire "right mind".

  • @rss22 you are very wrong in your beliefs

pts who present intoxicated or druged are not capable of making an informed consent. Medical management and legally it is up to the physicain to provide safe care. He was under a stimulant/ disoriented/ combative/ diaphoretic/sob and tachycardic - giving him ativan is very appropriate and a standard of care.

Since you are a student it is prudent for you to learn about legal ethical and patient intervention skills for pt total safety

  • @silentfades I didn't understand why I was given Ativan like you say. It scarred me, big time. It made me fucking sick.......You are very wrong in your beliefs. Keep your nose out of our heads. You just want sound important. You are not.

  • OMG 18:09

  • The patient refuses medicine. Isn't that against his rights? That's bullspit. That guy should sue.

  • I love clips like this. Shows what its really like out there! keep it up!

    Respect.

  • This is what I eventually want to do for a living. I would love to work in the ER.
