I'm South African and I don't know that I will ever truly 'get' the need for Monarchy. To me, it seems a form of subservience and by design is classist. Yet, my 7 years in England did give me somewhat of a new take on things and whilst I don't think I could never show that kind of reverence for someone born into privilege, I certainly have found some level of respect of her as a person and an individual. Whichever way you want to look at it 60 years of service is impressive and well...noble.
