hey if i chance my windows vista to a linux delete it so all the programs on my computer i ask becose i dont have the instalision disk of my grthic card so plz ansvare i hate vista ther is so manny problems
Looks like you spend more time showing off Compiz than you do Mac OS X and Windows running through virtualization onUbuntu. Also I would like to know how you put OS X in virtualization legally? It does say you are not allowed to do that and you can't just buy OS X.
@criptovicto well why not just download the iso at ubuntu.com and give it a try! you can also make a dual boot, which means your windows installation stays on the computer, and on startup you chose if you want to run windows or ubuntu!
not a linux fan but that look pretty cool, currently using vista with 3gb of ram (on my old machine) so i dont have to worry about memory loss, but that look not too bad, it not insane or anything, but hey is free and it have no error like vista and it have firefox, i love that browser it kick ass, well not safari ass but let just say the other browser ass
Any of you fellows had any joy mounting OSX in Virtualbox? I've been having trouble getting it to work. i heard that the software scans the computer to ensure it's Apple which might have something to do with it but I see from this video that there's a workaround. unless of course the maker of this video has a virtual console running Ubuntu in a mac and mac OSX and XP running inside virtual consoles on that if that's even possible.
Yes, the great thing about ubuntu (and all other linux OS's) is that there FULLY custimizable say you just want the basic terminal (which could run on aslow as 32 mb of ram) you can or if you want a basic gui and no specal effects or even make ubuntu look like your fav OS with Gnome themes.
@hobbs312 Yes, it is a full operating system like Windows and Mac. You might want to try out Xubuntu instead. It is a lighter version of Ubuntu designed to run on old/aging PCs. Same things as Ubuntu just that the graphical user interface and other stuff under the hood are lighter.
Linux is so cool. I am definetely putting Ubuntu Linux in at least one of my computers just to see how awesome it probably is. I start from one computer and might upgrade to another one.
How he did it: he used sun xVM VirtualBox to make a "virtual pc" within ubuntu.
How can you do this: even if you don't use ubuntu you can still do this on windows or mac, just install virtualbox (google it) and download any OS cd and then install the operating system(there are many tutorials on this web page)
Do you honestly have any clue what you are talking about? He just partition his hard drive and installed different OSes in each - it's not that hard, lots of people do it.
I've known about linux for a bit, but never did any reseach. What go my interest is it loks cool and simple. Do u know about using ubuntu somehow to make your screen a touch screen? And Can I run Fl Studio or Cakewalk (music software) on linux, Or I need the windows on bottom and run xp on top? Thansk for the vid.
that is very very koooool man, I have actually done that as well. But os x does not run well in a virtual machine trust me I have tried. Windows xp works fine in a virtual machine
thats sweet, i gotta start usin linux as well actually. is that version for free as well? but, wow tell me if i'm wrong, but that looks like it eats up a lot of ressources e.g. memory, just like vista does... or doesn't it? would it work on a AMD 3000+ with 1Gig of ram? i hope so :)
I thought that aswell. But now that I have multiple desktops I regularly use all 4. Just today I was dragging photos from a memory card to my hard drive just by dragging them from one desktop to another. I'm not saying its better than using a taskbar its just a different way of doing things

Thanks for helping a relative noob see the light. Ubuntu can easily beat the pants off Mac and Windows!
The point of the video was just to show Ubuntu to my friends, not really to explain how I got OSX and XP running in VMWare Player. I just wanted to show that it could be done.
hey man can you tell me how to do that? i need to run windows and mac and linux i got ubuntu but im having a SHIT of a time with Virtual Box when i go to install it it keeps telling me that i have another software installer running but i know i don't but if you could tell me how you did that and i can do the rest from there
A video showing things that I can already do more easily in Mac OS X, followed by the typical useless Beryl effects and ended with a Mac OS X desktop picture and an Aqua-style Tux... Yeah... At list it's not Windows. Keep up the good videos!

The point of the video was just to show Ubuntu to my friends, not really to explain how I got OSX and XP running in VMWare Player. I just wanted to show that it could be done.

A video showing things that I can already do more easily in Mac OS X, followed by the typical useless Beryl effects and ended with a Mac OS X desktop picture and an Aqua-style Tux... Yeah... At list it's not Windows. Keep up the good videos!

i found nothing interesting. it's basically a beryl video. i would love to see more mac-related video than this.
