  • Everything's making sense now! I always wondered where they got those suffixes from!

  • this is really difficult lesson. How to learn theses suffixies as they are very difficult to understand.

Is there a difference in pronunciation -lar and -ler or it's the same?

  • @dandon4ever23 I suggest that you move on with the lessons. In order to understand vowel harmony, you need to firstly understand what it is used for. :) If you still have problems, contact me by PM, and I'll explain it further :)

  • Selam! I understood how to use the suffies, but can u please explain to me,when do you use ''e type suffixes'' and when ''i type suffixes'' i really want to learn it,and this lesson are great :D

  • @Darijaaaaaaaaaa There is no such a rule. Some suffixes have the vowel -e, thus they are -e type; the other have -i, thus -i type.

The plural suffix is -ler. It has an -e in it, so I call it -e type. So whenever you want to make a noun plural, you'll need this -ler, which is an -e type. From now you will know that since it is an -e type, you can change it to -lar.

The objective case f.ex. is -i. It's an -i type. So you know that it can also be -ı/-u or -ü

  • I lost my concentration in this lesson,

    i'll watch it later inchaalah

thank you soo much my teacher :)

  • WOW I have finally found out why and how it is that Turkish always sounds so beautiful = D It is because of the intricate and thoughtful vowel harmony ; ) Complicated, but well worth the effort = D

  • I thinked that i understood, but in the examples part, i didn't why you say televizyon + um :) or maybe you can give me complete sentences..

    please help me

  • @uriela88 Televizyon + im.

"im" has 4 forms: im ım um üm

    So you have 4 options:

    Televizyonim

    Televizyonım

    Televizyonum

    Televizyonüm

How to decide? You look at the final vowel of the word. If it is "o" or "u", you use "u" in the suffix. TelevizyOn's last vowel is 'o', therefore the suffix will have 'u'. Televizyonum.
