In the last Chan movies Birmingham was the star. He acted rings around Chan. And he added so much to the Monogram Chan's. Mantan Moreland was a joy to watch.

Keye Luke was number one son, Grasshopper. Benso Fong, like many Chinese actors during the 40's a later, played several insidious Japanese.

Roland Winters took some getting used to as the "New: charlie Chan. In my opinion Sidney Toler was the Best of the Charlie Chans. Victor Sen Yung always played "Jimmy Chan" when with Sidney Toler. The two of them were always the best "father Son combo. Believable. Had good comedic chemistry. Tommy was a different actor. Best movies: Castle in the Desert, Treasure Island, and Dead Men Tell" were my favorite Charlie Chan movies.
