We need EVERY SINGLE person to not take the plea deal. Take every charge all the way to trial. This includes marijuana possession. This includes traffic tickets.

I am not for legalizing Marijuana, but locking people up for user doses seems to be counter productive. It would make more sense to give people a fine for it. It would cost the state less and it might even have made them some money.
The main reason people are put in jail easier in USA isnt because of pot or similar, I think, but more about the issue of private prisons and it being a important cornerstone employer of some places.
Oh the ones that havent been trouble do get probation and mandatory rehab and thousands of dollars to pay in restitution and fines!but the ones who keep getting in trouble or those who officers may have a dispute with go to prison. Having been a former pot smoker(among other substances), I personally found no real benefit to smoking, and I'm pretty sure Vaporizers wouldn't really help the situation. Also, when one smokes, regardless of the carcinogen level, you still deprive oxygen to the brain, killing brain cells. Considering what we know about tobacco smoking, it makes sense that pot can't be much better.

I am not for legalizing Marijuana, but locking people up for user doses seems to be counter productive. It would make more sense to give people a fine for it. It would cost the state less and it might even have made them some money.
The main reason people are put in jail easier in USA isnt because of pot or similar, I think, but more about the issue of private prisons and it being a important cornerstone employer of some places.

What if the government took away the people's right to bear arms. People would be livid! Imagine if the government started locking people up for gun possession because SOME idiots are irresponsible with them. That would be a HUGE infringement on civil liberty.

The same is true for alcohol. I know one person who brews his own beer. Is that all the beer he consumes? No. Does he sell his beer when it's done? No. Why? Because there is no illegal market for it when you can buy it at the gas station. Yeah people die because of irresponsible drunk drivers, but those idiots would drive drunk whether alcohol was legal or not.
The crime during prohibition was caused by gangsters, not by the people who consumed it. It's exactly like today's drug war.

Drug dealers don't offer tobacco to their patrons. Think that's odd? Of course you don't! You would think a dealer stupid for offering tobacco to people on the illegal market, because it would never sell. The same will be true for cannabis when it is legalized. There will be NO profit in the illegal market.
US consumerism is based on convenience. If you want tobacco, you go to the gas station, easy as that. You don't ask a drug dealer for it, and you definitely don't grow it yourself!

The only difference is that smoking pot with other people present can affect them through second hand smoke, just like tobacco products.

Having been a former pot smoker(among other substances), I personally found no real benefit to smoking, and I'm pretty sure Vaporizers wouldn't really help the situation. Also, when one smokes, regardless of the carcinogen level, you still deprive oxygen to the brain, killing brain cells. Considering what we know about tobacco smoking, it makes sense that pot can't be much better.

In fact, it's reported that the sustained amount to achieve such an effect would be more than 200 times the PSYCHOACTIVE dose. Which would be the equivalent of smoking 2-3 ounces of weed every 4 hours for YEARS. The 'brain damage' claim is actually just a scare tactic. Also, delta-9-tetrohydrocannabinol is what you're thinking, and cannabinoid receptors exist prior to smoking. Unlike Tobacco.

The rest of your statement is adjusted towards pro pot. Personally, legalize it. It'll allow officers to concentrate on people committing crimes and using harder drugs. That being said, you realize that even legalized, you could still recieve charges of impairment if using while driving, and growing your own without proper permits.

@bigjess71 I did take the drugs doctors gave me. It damaged my liver and made me defecate blood. Weed out of a vaporiser at most makes me a little hungry. I just go jogging for a bit and all is good.

@finding0 Ok well now you're damaging your brian by smoking pot.Have fun with that.I'm sure you doctors could figure something out so that none of that would happen because I'd like to think that there are more than just a few different kinds of medication that help control epilepsy.But whatever I don't care I'm tired of talking about this.I'm more against drugs than anyone you'll ever talk to I'm sure.I can't even get on the subject of drugs without getting pissed off so I'm done.

@bigjess71 Brain damage only occurs from excessive chronic use. I smoke 2 puffs once every 5 days. i do not even smoke to get high. I used to be very heavily against weed. I was brainwashed like you. I even beat the hell out of some one back in high school because they gave my ex weed. Damn was I wrong and so are you

Barry Cooper is a very important person. One of the few people to stand up for the recreational smoker through nation-wide media outlets and he has the credentials to make such bold claims and points. Barry was a highly decorated drug enforcement officer who has first hand knowledge and experience on the ubsurd drug laws and punishments in this country as well as the corruption of the police. I think i'd rather take his advice than some FoxNews blonde bimbo.

The truth will always prevail... Took a long time, but the time is near when you can finally live without the fear. Having done alcohol, pot & other recreational drugs, I can state for a fact that pot is the least harmful.. Been smoking it since 1972, and still healthy as a horse.
