this game is going to be released on 2012 as Grand Slam Tennis 2 for the Xbox and PS3 which is awesome! Great graphics, and you have the option to just play it with your regular controller rather than this one and HeartOfSonic is right it is not synchronized with your body movement, so I am glad I have a PS3 to be able to play this game in HD and in a REGULAR CONTROLLER!

@leisurelydinner If you are not using the Nunchuk, then you have to press up on the D-Pad to run towards the net. That feels a bit awkward indeed, hence I'd rather have the Nunchuk attached. With the Nunchuk's analog stick you have total control of your player, though it does take some getting used to. Probably that's why EA Sports call it "advanced" play. But truth is, after playing with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combo, there's pretty much no way to go back. The game feels much better!

If I had the choice between a real game of tennis and any tennis video game for the Wii I would choose real tennis. Any time I play video game tennis I get so disappointed because the console doesn't know how to interpret my movements, which are exactly the same as when I'm on a real court. @SHuffleHardDieTryinG because he moves the wii control first, but if you move the control and your body is better "is in your mind, the synchronization, your body and your hand-wiicontrol", you can move the control only, but is boring and your synchronization would fail.
i have the game, and is perfect, if i move my body and hand-control together and i can do a "drive shot" or "backhand shot", the person in the game moves like me. is a great game.
PD: the moves are perfect if you have the certified nintendo control motion and num, because i have another generic control and this is not perfect, but the other is awesome.

why is it when you play online against some opponents the ball seems to freeze on your opponents side which makes it easier for them to get to the ball it is so annoying, i feel i have hit a winner, the ball stops on their side they get to the ball and hit it back.

I'll admit, most games have gimmicky and inaccurate controls, but how can controls be "kiddy"? If you've tried wii sports resort, you can see that the controls are very accurate if programmed for correctly, and even without the motionplus, the games can have good control (Avatar: the Game, despite being a bad game overall, serves as an example).

The reality is very different. The game is far from being as precise as shown on this video. This game is frustratingly difficult to play. The reality of playing this game (with or without motion plus) is far far from the way it is demonstrated here. The motion plus is not accurate at all. Your player sometimes doesn't even swing when you do and when not using the nun chuck the game very often puts your player in the wrong position therefore making your shot very often wrong. All in all this game sucks hard!! A true one to one experience my a**!!!

Yes...but you can turn that off and use the nunchuk for running.
Overall i found the motion tracking not so precise as for example in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (wich is unbeatable with Motion Plus) or some Sports Resort Games. But nevertheless it's fun!
It seems that the developers need some experience with Motion Plus programming but the potential is there!

Amazing game! It's amazing how you can control the wiimote just like a tennis racket.
Two things: 1- you'll need though, first to know how to hold the wiimote, just like that guy in the video. 2- if you don't know how to play tennis in real life, you'll have a hard time with some shots.
Other than that, it's great game much better than the others in my opinion.
It sucks!!! The character is crazy with the motion plus!!! I can only play backhand but when i want to turn it into a forehand the character is going to turn a backhand and he'll run around on the court,... Does someone have a conclusion about this -.-
when online, sometimes i lose the point even when I return the ball (it looks very obvious to me that i returned the ball and not a 2 bounce etc). I'm not sure what my opponent sees but it gets really irritating when i lose the match because of points like those

No you do not need motion plus for this game. In fact its MUCH less glitchy without it and more fun too.
Motionplus is great for Sports Resort, Red Steel 2 and Tiger Woods Golf, but not for this game though others WILL tell you different.
Just read the complaints for this game and motion plus and you'll see I kid you not.

Yeah i would invite you to come to my house and perform that baldy.if that video wasnt staged then i dont know what was..Basically no matter what you do in your livingroom the player on screen has a mind of his own...you can stand in practice mode waiting for a simple forehand yet the player will do his upmost to set himself for a backhand thus missing the ball completely or performing a lame block.most of the time you find yourself fighting the player to play the most obvious shot.

This game is frustratingly difficult to play. The reality of playing this game (with or without motion plus) is far far from the way it is demonstrated here. The motion plus is not accurate at all. Your player sometimes doesn't even swing when you do and when not using the nun chuck the game very often puts your player in the wrong position therefore making your shot very often wrong. All in all this game sucks hard!! A true one to one experience my a**!!!

@mephisto359 sometimes games comes with the WM+ but the companies don't use the real accurate WM+ is made for.
take wii sports resort for an example, if u try it you will know that its 1:1.

did you try recalibrating it or sending it back to nintendo, it may be defective hardware. According to Gamespot and IGN the motion plus is very accurate, although the former states that this makes the game too hard (like real tennis)

Yes...but you can turn that off and use the nunchuk for running.
Overall i found the motion tracking not so precise as for example in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (wich is unbeatable with Motion Plus) or some Sports Resort Games. But nevertheless it's fun!
It seems that the developers need some experience with Motion Plus programming but the potential is there!

the wii motion plus isnt that good at all. When i try to hit a backhand it automatically hits a forehand!!
And it randomly runs around my backhand and forehand!
Not even CLOSE to 1:1 movement!!

is it calibrated or defective? IGN and gamespot both say that it is very accurate although the latter says that this makes the game frustratingly difficult. If you have wii sports resort or better yet, virtua tennis 5, test it out and see if it's defective.

I won the Australian Open twice, the French Open twice and Wimbledon and the U.S. Open each once and I only have Wii Grand Slam Tennis for one week, this is the greatest thing since they invented sliced bread. The motionplus is incredible!!!

Amazing game! It's amazing how you can control the wiimote just like a tennis racket.
Two things: 1- you'll need though, first to know how to hold the wiimote, just like that guy in the video. 2- if you don't know how to play tennis in real life, you'll have a hard time with some shots.
Other than that, it's great game much better than the others in my opinion.

It sucks!!! The character is crazy with the motion plus!!! I can only play backhand but when i want to turn it into a forehand the character is going to turn a backhand and he'll run around on the court,... Does someone have a conclusion about this -.-

I had a similar problem. Try using the nunchuk to steer for yourself, then it works perfectly.
Also, if you do nice smooth movements, it also works a lot better.

It is not true one to one experience, I had a go yesterday. That new PS3 controller is one to one but the Wii is not. It is a very good game though.

when online, sometimes i lose the point even when I return the ball (it looks very obvious to me that i returned the ball and not a 2 bounce etc). I'm not sure what my opponent sees but it gets really irritating when i lose the match because of points like those
