Hilah, when I was a kid my mom used to make tempura batter and one of the tricks she used to make good expansion was to put the batter in the fridge to make it as cool as possible. That way when you would dip the veggies, shrimp etc in the batter it would be much thicker and the temp different between the batter and the hot oil helps puff the batter much more then room temp tempura batter.
"it looks a little thin, but lets give it a shot...." Do you know how long I've been waiting to hear a woman say that? I so love your vids.. Keep it up:)
Yum, these look good. I love to cook, too. .........Wondering why you have a tattoo of the Number 1 on your right arm. (or maybe it's an anchor) Was it a dare one night when you were doing tequila shooters with friends?
At the tea parties, some people rock the old school U.S. flag with the Yellow background, the Green snake and the "Don't Tread On Me" ad copy on the bottom.
@hilahcooking Jamica's flag is yellow and green, but black aswell :) So put some pepper in there for the black, and ther you how hush puppies for the Jamacians haha
@hilahcooking Brazil's flag has a majority green with a yellow diamond along with a cool purple planet looking thing in the middle. As a nod to Brazil you could call your creations...Perro's Silencios....pretty sure I said Quiet Dogs....or maybe I ordered extra sour cream on my taco.
Isn't the batter for hush puppies usually chilled before deep frying so it can be rolled into a ball?

the batter needs to be thick so thick you have to dip a spoon in water to keep it from sticking to the spoon

But seriously, can anyone tell me what country's flag is yellow and green?
hilahcooking 2 years ago
@hilahcooking The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is the first that comes to mind. Bolivia would also kind of work, but it has red.
