I guess the track spread like a wildfire and became loosely associated with Atheists; as if it were a theme song. Many a debate has taken place while accompanied by this beautiful song.

Atheism is the absence of a belief in a god, not a negative belief in one, check your math, that's 0 not -1.

Most atheists will acknowledge the possibility that one could exist, they simply do not think it is likely enough to consider. Next you'll probly respond with something to the effect of "nuh uh, that's agnosticism!", this is a common mistake, Gnosticism has to do with knowledge, theis has to do with belief.

Based on the dictionary the word "atheism" says the following: One who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being; does not believe in God. No where in the dictionary does it say that an atheist "acknowledges the possibility of a God"

I quit believing in god at age 10 when my brother was killed in a car crash. Best decisiion I ever made. The last 10 years of my life have been much more fulfilling and much less disappointing because of it. That's right, I'm only 20 and I have already been atheist for 10 years! Reason trumps faith!

The reason people are discussing atheism in this song is because they found it from a video called "Atheist". Youtube search "Atheist" and click the Vimeo link in the description. The guy who made it had his account hacked and the audio in his video got changed.

Aside from that relation, I wouldn't conclude that these lyrics are an attempt to portray atheism.

Such as, when Jesus was killed, and even "missing years" from 12 to 30. Have you heard of Nicholas Notovich, he wrote a book about Jesus, and how he was at a Buddhist temple during this time, with much proof, and corroborating evidence? Plus how can you say Jesus is real, and all the other god's arent? It is said Josephus writings were a fraud by the Catholic Church.
