If its too expensive to fish BC go back to Washington and take their cheaper fish. Fishing in BC should be twice the price it is now for all this province has to offer. Mutt
hey im an avid fisherman the fish dont like me though because i dont catch much and my mom says that a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work thanks for the enthousiasm mom keep on fishing guys too
if you slip your line through the bobber and add a bobber stop and piece of split shot then your bobber will stay upright and you can see smaller bites easier!
dude...ever heard about a thing called net? u can use it to get the fish out of the water if you cant land it by hand. this way the fish doesnt has to jump around on the rocky shore...i hate to see unprofessional handling of fish and other wildlife. i dont say c& r all you catch, but treat the fish right damn it.

Very nice. Good to see some fish caught. ;) Some comments regarding freshwater fishing licencing in this province. While it is slightly more expensive than Washington's, the quality of BC's freshwater fishing, specifically our lake fisheries, is much higher than other parts of the world based on the amount of waters available to the public and quality of our fish. The fund generated by the freshwater licencing goes toward the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, which is contracted by...
the BC's Ministry of Environment to produce rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout and kokanee and stock them in hundreds of lakes across this province. Because of these features, experienced Washington lake and river anglers often spend their holidays up here. Compared to Europe, where I fish on a regular basis, the cost of freshwater fishing in BC is significantly lower due to the fact that most of our waters are not privatized. Cheers. :)
@fishingwithrod I've lived in Merritt, in the late 60's when the site of the spawning salmon in Nicola River was beyond anything you could imagine; 30, 40lb and larger fish. That's all gone today. I used to go fishing in the lakes around Merritt; their Motto, "a lake a day as long as you stay". There was quality fishing back then. That's all gone. As for hatcheries, you want to see hatcheries, go to Washington State. We plan to visit some of them in the near future to show what can be done.
@JCVdude "The good old days" is the same scenario that plays across this planet when it comes to fishing, but there are always hopes. ;) The general perception is that once fishing quality declines, it never rebounds. That's only the case if we do not make changes. The quality of fishing available now is of course incomparable to when the population density was a lot lower. Re: hatchery, Washington is a lot more heavily funded when it comes to tax due to the higher population. Cheers.
