I don't think so because Sandra would've joined the heroes cause she wanted Russell out that badly. I know Rupert is stupid for starting the whole "women's alliance" crap, but to his credit he was the first one who noticed Russell was bad and no hero listened to him.. bah.
Here's why I don't consider this a fail: The Heroes did NOT have the numbers going into the merge. Had JT used the idol on himself, he would have simply been delaying the inevitable for 1-2 weeks tops. It was basically take the risk and have a 20% chance of turning the numbers in his favor, OR keep the idol for himself and stay in the game for 1 more week tops
@Cirvantes123 In addition, Parvati is well known for her all female alliance. JT took a smart risk that just happened to be, despite a lot of evidence, wrong.
They didn't really know Russel because he was fresh off season 19 and it hadn't aired yet while HvV was being filmed. With that said shouldn't they have figured he was on the villains tribe for a reason? Poor heroes. They got pooped on that season. They did not live up to the 'Hero' title. The villains on the other hand.....
@whateverthefckjhjg well to be fair not all the villains were villains in the sense of being backstabbers. Sandra, Jerry, Coach, and Parvati for example were all pretty loyal and honest for the most part. Many were villains simply because they were cocky/arrogant. So JT might have thought Russel was one of those types of villains instead of a backstabbing villain.
@SecretAgent079 if russell was on the outs or had just went with it this would have been huge and would have gotten russell the million i think if he went with JT and Rupert
where did he get a pen and paper?

Also, would this not have been the greatest move of all time if it actually worked?

This is one of my favorite moments, especially when Parvati reads the letter.
