  • @guitarbridgecleaner but I don't have a website

  • even if it came with the kit i would have choose not to use it.It cheapens its whole look itd be better just as black or with a huge poster pasted on etc.

Still the cab seems cool though

  • @wowdave85 Sideart was an important part of the cabinet back then and it was my intention to make this cabinet genuine to the original kits I saw back in the day. Admittedly this is the cheeziest, cheapest way to do sideart... a vinyl sticker? Please. In my day it was a 2 color stencil with tons of overspray that didn't even come close to looking like the original game! :-P

I have seen some good cabinets with plain black sides. Laminate is the way to go if you want that clean look though.

  • Pretty cool man, I'm working on a SF II Cab myself, where did you get the side art?

  • Thanks for posting the vid. Applying my sideart today.

  • thanks for the help man :) installing my stuff right now and this was superhelpful. appreciated

  • Many thanks for the tips. I am planning some for a pinball cabinet.

  • nice! i've been wanting to do a mame street fighter II cab

  • Muy bonita ( Very good XD)

  • if you took your arcade cabinet to the moon and then applied this sticker there, would you still get air bubbles?

    ...just sayin'

  • I'm gonna go with no.. might catch some moon dust under their though.. hehe :)

  • the sideart i remember seeing back in 1991 was just ryu standing and no sf2 logo or graphics

  • What I did to keep from getting any bubbles at all was to place a piece of pipe wrap (the pipe shaped insulation) on the side art and as I pulled down like you did, you roll the pipe wrap as you go. No bubbles.

  • I took my cab to NASA's vacuum chamber :)

  • continue... does anyone have any tips for the beginner

  • i want to make bartop arcade cabinets of my favorite arcade games plus 2 bartop arcade cabinets of custume made arcade games that i want to create my self now im going perchase the bar top arcade cabinet pieces all ready to put together but that's the easy part now the part that's going to be hard for me is the monitor since i don't have the know how in electrical wireing and computer repair now i emailed every web site that i found that had the know how and they won't email me back

  • I'm getting ready to start a mame cab and haven't decided on a design yet, did you order your plans or make your own? got any pictures of your control panel, or is it all made to mimic SF2?

  • nevermind, i just saw your other videos.. nice job it tho

  • I think it looks fantastic. That may be because I spent many hours in front of the game, but still.

    Good job.

  • man, that's ugly! What a nice cab! But with that side art you just made it look like a fake.

It looks like you just took an old poster and glued it onto your cab.

I think it's realy a pitty, cause the rest of your cab looks more than awesome!!!

  • Funny, because the Street Fighter 2 install kit from Capcom came with that same exact "poster" with instructions on installing it on the sides. You're so right, I wonder why Capcom chose to include that fake old poster in their conversion kits? I'll immediately grab a putty knife and will begin stripping the old gluey poster off the side of my machine. Thank you.

In all seriousness, I wanted my cab to be authentic. It would look like crap with anything else on the sides.

  • Well, that was my opinion...

I'm not saying this isn't the authentic look of the cab, I wouldn't know...

But to be honest, if it was my cab I would give it a sideart that would cover most of the side, just because I feel that looks cool.

Anyways, much credit for your cab!

  • Yeah I know what you mean. The sideart is cheap that came with SF2. Nicer artwork will be something when I build my next one.

  • @gamehulk Nah, you did a great job.

  • @gamehulk
