Deciding on a favourite game soundtrack is probably the hardest thing I have ever done. I mean, come on, some games have better soundtracks than a lot of mainstream music.
Sorry to be a pain, but could you send me a link by PM or something? I've searched all over for it and simply can't find it. I'm talking about the one that plays during the main menu when you first start the game. I might be weird, but I like that the most out of all the soundtracks in this game because it is just so intelligent, majestic, and intriguing all at the same time. The audio team at EgoSoft did one hell of a good job with the music for this game didn't they?
My favorite music in X3, it takes over from the Kingdom's End theme. I can't believe they put it in such an out of the way sector like Kuiper Belt, but I suppose the tune is a bit heavy to be listening to in a sector you spend lots of time in.
This music actually plays when one is in the Kuiper Belt sector. The real main theme is labelled 'Terran Theme' in this series of videos. Still, this is an awesome piece of music. In the soundtrack folder it's labelled 'Theme 1'. My bet is that it was an original concept for the theme until they replaced it with the current one.
Actually, not. The rest of the work was shared, while Daniel made soundtracks like the HUB, Alexei was doing his own styled musics such as the Terran Theme I uploaded aswell. It is unknown for me which dan and alexei made himself, but I guess, the most time the work was shared, since they were partners, not competitiors.
omg this is such a tune. some of the best music that iv heard comes from games. This is no exception.

@jlwelch if you have the game you can find the whole soundtrack in the games main folder lol. in the folder called soundtrack :)

Alexei Zakharov is making great music for X series. Without him there wouldn't be the same climate...
The music from X3 TC and X3 Reunion is great. I've got it on my mp3 player and I always listen to it before I'll go sleep.

I thought Daniel Finney was brought on board only for Terran Conflict. It was all Alexei Zahkarov's show right up until X3: The Reunion.

I'm not sure you understand me. I meant that for X2: The Threat and X3: The Reunion, Alexei Zakharov was the only composer for the X-series of games.
I'm sure they only started using Daniel Finney's work in X3: Terran Conflict.
