I did spend a good chunk of the interview trying to figure out exactly how she was sitting in relation to the interviewer. Was she in a chair or a sofa elevated above the interviewer? It almost looked tilted forward.
@sandrafaith - we had to angle the camera to make sure we showed Bettie in some way without revealing how she looks. I was sitting close in front of her on a stool... with the camera on the floor tilted up to get my reaction.

we met bettie while in vacation with my grandma, it was obviously her, but my boyfriend at the time ran up to her and asked "are you bettie page?" really loud. she replied "I dont know who that is!" so sweet and she gave me a sly wink.

Rudolph Rossi was an informal member of the New York City Concorde Camera Club in the repressive 1950's. For a ten dollar fee, he photographed Bettie Page and a plethora of interracial models, then later meticulously hand-painted each photograph creating the illusion of color photography. She really looks the same when she was old as when she was modeling. She still has that vibrant smile. Nothing to be ashamed of here. I think she aged gracefully, and people would have liked to have seen her. I guess I understand why she didn't want herself to be shown, though.

... Bettie was not ranting about Adam and Eve. She never ranted about anything. She was nothing but the most genuine and nicest woman I've ever met.
Was her overall view as a young woman "naive"... perhaps.

Good interview & I'm happy you just let her talk. I'd like to hear all the tape you recorded. She was probably the first "dirty" pic I ever saw. I hope she has the rights to her name/pic,etc. But isn't it ironic that she is held in such high regard for taking such "nasty" pictures? Bettys' image was & still occupies nose art on some of our hottest planes. Her face so sweet & innocent, then, on go the stockings. That could confuse a guy, 'ya know? I hope she has & continues to enjoy life.

I saw what she looked like in her later years. She didn't look bad at all. She looked damn fabulous for someone in her 80's. I saw a photo of her with Pam Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith for Playboy's 50th anniversary in 2003.

She really looks the same when she was old as when she was modeling. She still has that vibrant smile. Nothing to be ashamed of here. I think she aged gracefully, and people would have liked to have seen her. I guess I understand why she didn't want herself to be shown, though.

Bettie was not vain... but actually had grown modest and more PRIVATE in her later years. She wanted to maintain her anonymity so Bettie stalkers wouldn't bother her.
