  • What?... Where?

  • Wow the pizza looked way better than the one we had the other night..

  • back when their pizzas were actually worth buying...

  • Welcome Back Kotter.... and john travolta

  • Man and damn, look at our year now, we don't have fancy, punk kids like the ones in the video goin to a restaurant to eat anymore.

We have gangsters and people who listen to rap and hip-hop, what the **** has this world turned into?

  • I wish i was born in the 80's

  • was pizza hut pizza super salter back in the 80's?(asking cause i was born in 94)

  • you no what serious thats the good old days of pizza hut when it was real pizza not todays pizza you get nothing on it and you pay more in price .

  • Damn that pizza had my name all over it! Looked very tasty !

  • Those pizzas were as good as the commercials that showed em,back then in the 80s.But those restaurants all gone now..well in melbourne they are, we got too many good independant pizza shops here.

  • Ah I remember growing up in the 90's when pizza hut was still a dine-in place. Since it was a real restaurant you didn't buy it every day and get obese. It was better because it was a special occasion. Now they're just like Dominoes.

  • I love that everybody is white in the commercial.Hope your country doesn't get over taken by illegal immigrants like England and the U.S.A.

  • @dmtdmt1969 yea...cause europeans took over the US legally...wait a minute, they raped and massacred the natives living there I must be crazy right?

  • @dmtdmt1969 soon you'll be the minority. boo hoo for you.

  • beer at Pizza Hut? You Aussies were lucky

  • @logyscott Umm, Pizza Huts in the US used to serve beer also. I think they stopped in the late 80s, early 90s.

  • @logyscott What are you talking about? I went to Florida in October 2010. There were customers in there drinking beer.

  • back in the 80s you had fresh dough mixed instore and alot of the ingredients came in fresh not frozen like today...blame pizza wars for shit pizzas..as the price goes down, so does the quality..

  • Australia is officially gay

  • @rugmaster58 and fabulous!

  • typical "everything else sucks ass except our shit' commercial..

  • For the curious there is still an "dine in" restaurant on George st in the city and one at St Andrews... I can't say I overly recommend either. But there are a crap stack of Pizza places in any city, I like the combined kebab/pizza stores, especially when they make a kebab pizza.

  • better than the john sebastian version i just heard on the radio

  • I remember I got a puppet "Petrie" for the Land Before Time movie from our local Pizza Hut restaurant. . . I kept it for years!

  • @monkeytypist I remember those, I had one too.. Thanks for the childhood memory mate

  • God that pizza looks AMAZING!!! It tastes like crap these days.

  • In south east Queensland there there are still 2 dine -ns left. One at Browns Plains and one on the Gold Coast.

  • 0:11... The salad bar has no sneeze guard..no wonder it tasted strange!

  • they still hve dine-in in germany and dang it tastes good :) :)

  • are they like dancing in there at the end???

  • ill have my dick coated in some nap sauce please bitch lol

  • wow, we had horrible style back then. But, I guess we'll be saying that again 20 years from now.

  • Damn! They don't make pizza's like them anymore.

  • Also is it just me or did their pizza taste better when you could dine in there?

  • @IanGorton That's cos it was fresh!

  • @IanGorton you should dine in there because the pizzas always come in sizzling!

you can atleast make a 50cm cheese rope with the pizza

    oh and its super fresh

  • @reallink2000 are there still any left?

  • @IanGorton Yeah a couple I know of one in Sydney and one in Townsville still going...

  • @IanGorton @southwestblues - Of course the pizzas were better then - they took their time and made them properly. Now they try to get them out the door faster than Domino's.

  • "we just wanna please ya"

  • i got one word

    Gastroenteritis

  • Yeah the restaurants with all you could eat made their shitty pizzas bearable. Now I just get takeaway from an independent shop way nicer.

  • I want a Pizza hut in germany ; ( *cry*

  • @lufhansa

wtf we have Pizza Hut in Germany o_O

Hahah wow this commercial is so cheesy that it almost hurts..

  • Hell yea, I know it already :-D

    I saw one in Dusseldorf...lol

    I've to eat there soon.

  • PANORMOUS BITCH!

  • how wrong does that sound, we just want to please you..... wow.

  • Hey, if their building isn't a hut, why call it "Pizza hut"? They should call it "Pizza house" if it is a building.

  • I can't remember the last time I saw a sit down Pizza Hut. They were great, bring them back please!

  • haha luckily there are still lots of pizza huts in the south :D

  • the reason pizza hut shut down is in the mid 90's everyone switched from wanting to sit in pizza huts to just getting take out or delivery. So they invented Pizza hut to go, which was just a counter and not a resturant. Another problem is that the gangbangers used to go to pizza hut and mess up everyones experience.

  • g e n i u s

  • we went to a restaurant pizza hut in Ballarat in Jan this year. There's one left at Marion in Adelaide. One great movie scene is in Puberty Blues, the family go to a 1981ish PH with the check table cloths and little red candle holders on the tables.

  • There are practically no pizza hut's left in my neck of the woods. All closed down.

Whatever, their pizza was never amazing.

  • I swear the pizza was better at the dine in restaurants

  • Comment removed

  • wrong bro the one in mandurah shut down like 6 years ago.. there pizzas were shit anyway i remember seeing this fat acne cunt sneeze on a pizza then serve it was fucking gross

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, it's only been 9 years, I remember they (well, at least the ones in Woodvale, Innaloo, Warwick and Morley) all closed down in 2001.

  • Yup I remember that! Especially Morley...But it used to be a special occasion in the 80s! like going "out" for Pizza!

  • @SenhorBundy

do u mean warwick in qeensland

if so where in warwick was it !

  • @jeffrey2184au

No, I meant Warwick in Perth, WA.

  • I wonder if the complete lack of pizza hut restaurants today is a due to this commercial.

  • ... I want pizza now.

  • The song is from the Welcome Back Kotter show. John Travolta as Vinnie Barbarino.. we always sucked american ass.

  • nice to see a good combover in an ad! never see those anymore!

  • Oh my goodness...

    eat in pizza huts <3

There's only like 2 left in Sydney :\

  • mmm their pizza's look better back then..

  • I used to love pizza hut when i was a kid, not the only ones you see are sad excuses for pizza restaurants.

One thing that hasnt changed though is you will always see some little shit with is dirty fingers in the jelly and moose.

  • Comment removed

  • You do know that Pizza Hut is american too.

  • You Idiot!

  • Notice the high proportion of blonde girls in these adds........not too many burkas or afro-americans in this lot!! Anyone watching would think this was Hitlers Aryian blonde factory!!

  • Beer at PIzzaHut?

I never realised they did beer.

  • Yeah when it was a restaurant rather than just Take Away outlets

  • Yeah when they wer licenced restaurants

  • Yes...its a shame...they were good! (the restaurants that is)You could actually get salad there...and good garlic bread...and desert. And they cared. Compared to the stogy muck they trowel out of their delivery joints these days...last time I got food poisioning! Apparently it was the pokie joints that put them out of buisiness..schnitzel and chips for 9.95 and play the pokies afterwards (and waste another $100 bucks!) Another tragedy. So if you can find a joint that cares these days..go there!!

  • I totally agree. They replaced our Pizza Hut restaurant with a Centrelink. What happened to the good times?

  • At least we still have sit in Pizza Hut's in America.. :)

  • No you dont

  • Yes we do. I don't know why you think we don't.

  • yes we do

but around my area no one ever eats at one

i have been eating pizza hut pizza since i was like 2 and i had no idea they had an eat in until a few months ago

  • Ah, for the good old days when Pizza Hut was actually good! Thems were the days. Last time I ordered from Pizza Hut it was awful! Wasn't worth the box it came in! So sad. And why did they have to axe the restaurants?! They were the bomb! Nowadays if you want Pizza Hut (not that I do now after my last dredaful outing (or inning) with them) you have to visit a charmless shopfront and be served by some acne'd string bean with less brains than the pizza base! :(

  • wow @ the perm

  • So different from the ads today. Now you see asians, lebanese, italians, greeks, indians. Back in the early 80's everyone was blonde!

  • So many memories!!

I loved dining out at the Pizza Hut restaurants when i was a young 'un.

I only see take away outlets now though :(

  • Aw wth i dont every remember pizza hut having ice cream. At least where i live stateside

  • It's sad that there aren't that many Pizza Hut restaurants around in Australia anymore

  • i still think pizza is the best value takeaway were else can still pay 5 bucks for large pizza thats 2 meals

  • we want to please you...

  • pahahahahahhaahahhahaha *dies laughing* oh god that brings back memories to when these ads were "cool" haha such bad hair

  • I* love old pizza hut commercials man its like i remember when going to pizza hut was like a fkng event now its just like whatever..ahh but we still remember great commercial.

  • Yeah I hear ya' and when they were still Restaurant rather than the Take Away outlets they all seem to be now.

  • Beer featured in a pizza ad, lol. Not any more.

Most chain pizza joints realized that pizza is a home-based/family type of meal. Parents worked late, too tired to cook, order up a pie and sit around the tv watching...Welcome Back Kotter reruns, I guess.

  • In San Diego where I live, there's still a proper sit-down Pizza Hut on Mira Mesa Blvd. Sadly that's at least 20 miles from my house, so at today's gas prices it costs almost as much to drive there and back as it does to eat there.

  • No. Gourmet like wood-fired, thin-crust,traditional european style pizza. Not that extra-cheesy rubbish with piles of cheap topping.

  • Thank God times have changed..Now we have real gourmet pizza..sure you have to pay more for it, but I would never go back to the mass-produced slop P.H.throws together

  • gourmet like domino's

  • Today has not been kind to Pizza Hut. The 80s and 90s was where it was at!

  • .. how ugly is everyone lol

  • OMg thats sooo wierd lol, Pizza hut now is like a take out and deliver place, back then it was a fancy Pizza place! I wonder how that happened!?!

  • still is here :)

  • Here in Pizza Hut Angeles City Philippines, they put lizard shits on the Pizza. I puked when I ate the damn thing...

  • they have an all you can eat near my house in Guildford Sydney.. but it's not as good as it used to be. I miss the good old days..

  • Who would think that an Australian TV commercial would make think of Brooklyn.

  • Probably because even back in the 1970's, Australia quite regularly was in the business of re-dubbing and re-musicing American ads. It's even worse now (fmr advertising industry audio professional till about six months ago here).

  • I know what you're talking about but I'm talking about the theme song they're using for this commercial, it's the theme song from WELCOME BACK KOTTER which is set in Brooklyn so that's what made me think of Brooklyn.

  • Ah.. My bad.. yeah I was thinking that too.. :) That's another thing Australia does really well - play on American sitcoms/shows in advertising. probably cause we show s'many damn American TV shows. :) Seriously though if you watch closely you'll see that this ad is most likely overdubbed. It has that real NTSC glow to it too... (we use PAL)

  • Should've had Gabe Kaplan in this ad.

  • Are you too good for the Hut?

  • This from the days YOU COULD SMELL THE TOMATO SAUCE as you walked in the door.

And bought a Ginger Bread Man as you walked out.

  • ur on the money whophd :)

  • This was back in the days before all you can eat, when they served pasta eg canneloni etc, the tablecloths were red, and there were candles on all of the tables.

  • Wow. They changed a lot.

  • Australia accually seems to have better cameras than a lot of other countries the quelity of this is great!

  • All hail the mighty PAL!!! ;)

  • It doesn't look like it came from the 80's.

  • Are you kidding mate, check out the hairstyles, plus Pizza Hut aren't sit down restaurants any more, it's all just rush in, rush out.

  • Oh. Well, I don't live in Austrailia, so I wouldn't know. ;D

  • No sadly they've decided to go the whole Take Away direction. The Pizza Hut Restarant near my place recently closed down and opened up a take away outlet :(. Can't have "The Works" now :(

  • good old mt druitt sydney still runs an all you can eat

  • lol i think we might be the only one maybe

  • our pizza hut closed down , they sell lawn mowers there to many take aways in this town

  • there is a sit-down pizza hut in hobart that still advertises its 'fully licensed'

  • looks ahead of its time

  • Yeah there's still a couple in the Lower Hunter. Jesmodn and East Maitland

  • Remember the one at Mayfield that was the bomb!

  • IT'S OK THERE MR KOTTER!! I GOT A PIZZA! Epstein

  • Pizza hutt used to be killer! with the best tasting garlic bread in the little basket with the red and white striped paper. It`s a feel good add!

  • There is a Pizza Hut Restaurant in Marion South Australia I am often at.The Manager is a good friend of mine and always looks after me.

  • There was a Pizza Hut restaurant in kingsford which I always went to. Good service and a true smile!

At the takeaway now, a surly employee said to another employee, "Look at that fuckwit (me) using his phone" What shit they pull now.

  • Ah memories. Pizza Hut used to be a chain of sit-down restaurants. But they found the Aussie market was just too crowded. So they relaunched themselves as takeaway only, after the Dial-A-Dino's chain, which they had just bought out.

  • there are plenty sit down pizza hut resteraunts here in .. canada.
