They missed Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. It was the version of Battlefield 2 that came out on PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360, and was also the first Battlefield game to come out on a console.

It may seem like they are the same game, but they aren't as Battlefield 2 runs on the Refractor 2 engine and Battlefield 2: MC runs on the RenderWare engine.

COD 4 sucks in comparison. It has no heft, no flavor and no skill is required to play. Battlefield and Rainbow are the ways to go. As for your question there is no 1994 (unless you mean 1942) so go with BF 2.

The video footage is from Battlefield 2 beta, that's how the game should have been, but they handicapped BF2 so that it could be rushed to get the money more quickly. That's how EA wanted it. It could have been MUCH better game if there wasn't greedy EA.

It's not part of the series at all. The PC versions all follow the same gameplay, while the console version move apart from that with a different style. And none of the console versions have the larger maps, 32 vs 32 player combat, aerial vehicles (including planes), and much more. The console games have nothing against the PC series.

im not saying that bad companys any better, the consoles have to have different gameplay because your using a controller and not a keyboard, they dont have the larger maps because it takes a good bit more work to make a console game that supports lots of players jets again because of the player issue, you forgot about 64 vs 64 and the squad/commander side of things but imo bad company has the most destructable terrain ive ever played with, i think its the best fps on CONSOLE atm, on ps3 anyway

There is no 64 vs 64 player combat, the max is 64 all together, not per team. And the destructible environments are alright, seems a little too scripted, the way you just take out chunks of walls, and that's it. Crysis, for example, actually has simulated buildings, made of boards, which support eachother.
