This is one of the most bizarre scenes I've even seen in a movie, I was like what part of the US has road signs pulled by a trolley on a railroad track? Then I find out that it's just a humorous gag used for film like the the chain coming out of the bottom of Pee-wee's bike.
All of this is because the original US VHS was presented "open matte" as in: without the same framing mask used in cinemas to cover up the top and bottom of the 1:33 frame, transforming it into a 1:85 frame. The new DVD corrects this showing the movie in an aspect ratio that doesn't let on to the "effects" outside of the frame, but this old VHS and cable broadcast master (my copy was taped off of Cinemax) has all this stuff in it still. And it's cool to see how they did it! So haters, halt!
this is retarded! no shit its fake and has blunders it was the 80s! cmon now!! lets go back and look at all the movies from 1985 and pick out all their faults, shall we? LOL im so sure!!
@GeminiKitten Gosh I don't get the point why you're so pushy...Even the bloopers are some kind of fun and you can enjoy them like the movie. This clip was not posted as accusal about movie mistakes...Calm down! You shouldn't take everything so seriously...Smile :)
We are doing a stop motion animation film called Tim. The movie is a stop motion animation film that is dedicated to Tim Burton and has Sir Christopher Lee as the narrator. Search the directors name Brian Joseph Ochab to find the video.
Some moron didn't get it and edited it out of the newer copies. But it's a joke!
I was a film student back then when the movie first came out. We were all a buzz about it the next week in class because we got it! It's just a joke! There's so much more to this film than a silly story!! I feel bad that anyone misses out.
@MasterMark123 I agree with MasterMark. They ABSOLUTLEY did this on purpose. No doubt. There were a couple of these in this movie. Sort of making a mockery of themselves. Love it.
its a mistake not a blooper bloopers are supposed to be funny

They showed the chain coming through the bottom of bike bag on purpose. It's very obvious. Remember that this film is a comedy.

I don't know what to say. I think we have come full circle to where kids think we didn't do things intentionally. It wasn't a mistake

in the tape version when he's pulling the chain out to lock his bike, you can see the chain coming up through the bottom of his bike basket xD

I'm pretty sure the viewer was intended to see that.

I always just thought it was intentional...the whole movie is pretty campy, so it works.

@GeminiKitten It is supposed to be fake. That was part of his humor. I am old enough to remember his show, and that was his humor.

Sooo not a blooper. That is intentional. It is one of the many subtle marks of the genius at work in this masterpiece.
