He is also just trying to be funny and charming in his second language. Not easy. Just to be fair. I think they are great interviewees because they dont bother to pretend its not awkward being asked the same questions over and over again. They are not pop stars... I think its great they treat it like a sideline, promotion is not their main job.

How did this guy get an interview? The band rarely does them, and hardly ever does Regine include herself. This guys awkward questionings and argumentative attitude nearly ruined an uncommon oppurtunity to hear their opinions. Luckily Regine was too super awesome/beautiful/funny to be deterred, and Will was also spot on as well. " Pleasure to be here... A pleasure to be here." But seriously Regine is so awesome that viewing her even from a computer has to shorten your lifespan from cuteness.

Oh honey, it's just that we the fans get so excited just seeing them, that we want to know so much and so little is asked and allowed to be sayed. How's about you break your fears of having your own opinion and don't ask anybody... For example, I think they are very heterogeneous and of course like with anyone it depends on their mood, and that's how the interviews will be. And of course, the interviewers do play a big part on that role ;)

As it is, like a lot of their stuff, they give you the props to let your own imagination do the rest of the work.

Like they say in the second half of the interview, it's not their job to explain the songs; they just make them. Arcade Fire put a lot of work into creating a bit of mystique about their music, and I think they're always conscious of how it's presented.

Besides which, I think it's safe to say they probably got that question about a thousand times that tour.
