Agree with you about Assemites but there is some good stuff in the Clanbook. I imagine some good campaigns to play with only Assemites, especially with Vizads and Sorceryes involved. Or a problem-solution based game where the players are Assemites who are to kill someone.
@zeptochros Yes, there are few ideas so bad with loads of work & great STing & players you cannot do something with them. However, this clan is a bastion for terrible play.

I agree completely. I can see the players who want to play these a mile away. It will be one session before they are trying to sink the game, and diablerize every other player. The only worse thing WW created are Euthanatos.
@kato1972 I've never had a problem with Euthanatos but I've never played a mage game with bad players. I've played & seen a lot of bad players in Vampire. So I'll take your point, but that's another good point these are the same kind of tools that try to wreck a game. I don't think I even covered that, good point.
i haven't played this game in over 15 years. i took your what vampire test are you in your most recent video and i was an assamite. i remembered that you had a video on this clan so i just watched this video. i still couldn't tell you all the clans or what any particular clan is about. but the test said i was this with trendamere being 2nd. i have no desire to play really though, so no biggie any way to me.
@woodwwad i don't play vampire or any white wolf games actually. my group sticks to pathfinder, shadowrunner, and a warhammer 40k themed game (can't recall its name off the top of my head). we play a couple other offshots ussually with some house rules tossed in. but we don't do much for white wolf games. can't say i am a huge fan of VtM either. i do like your channel though.
I agree with what you said but I believe it would be better if you tone down the ranting a little bit down, it feels way over the top. It's a real pitty because you make really good points. It happened the same with the charging on d&d video.

@insau Yep, that's the gimmick. But most of my videos aren't over the top but they certainly will be if I'm ranting, why I usually try to put rant in the video title or something like that. If you check out some of my other videos you'll notice that a lot of them are right on serious.
Coldharbour indeed. I have to agree on one hand. The Assamites can be awful ninja assassin stereotypes. But a clan is after all just a template and the person with that template does not have to conform to stereotypes.
Of course, the argument to that is that if you don't want to play a vampire like an Assamite play a different clan or even a Caitiff.
@clackclickbang Assamite certainly isn't a clan of freethinkers & would likely not be open to too much stretching. The white wolf fiction put some utterly terrible assamite npcs together.
Caitiff can be interesting to play, I've done that before.
@woodwwad I think there are some interesting Assamite NPCs, although admittedly they fall more into Sorcerer or Vizier castes. The idea of vampire assassin ninjas just fucks me right off. They can only ever be used as NPCs in my opinion, if at all. Hell, wipe them out rather than the Ravnos.
assimite only take contracts from a priogem or prince you have to play it right i hate that some ruins it for the rest of us that do role play correctly

I have seen your recent VTM videos and frankly i am appalled. You are constantly saying people didn't play "this right" or "that right". Not everyone need to portray and percieve the clans/class the same way you do.
This is a hobby. You are having fun = You are doing it right. There is no "right way".
@marvelona Well, first you need to realize my delivery style is intended to entertain with deliberately over the top aggressive style. Secondly, I don't think anyone needs to portray anything in the same way I do, what I do encourage is to actually try, create interesting characters, stay in character and do the best you can with the game. I try role-playing as an art form. It is also about making the game fun for the other people playing & GM, quality play will do that.

Take the initiative penalty of biting without grapple and you got a str+1 aggravated potence/ celerity fiend. OR grapple for first action and celerity bite for the rest. Instead of cutting off limbs with claws you tear out throats. Either way shit gets red real fast.
I like your video's! I was wondering (i'm going to ask for it in my latest video but I'll ask you in this message) could you make a video about vampires that are Harpies? There is a fair chance that my FoS is going to become a harpy and I don't really have a good feel on how harpies work. How they get what they need and still keep there position of power.
@Demolitiondude Why should they? That would be a long discussion but they certainly do & a lot. You have positions within the pack, like alpha. There are also huge politics with spirits that need to be considered.
@woodwwad We've been more focused on more important tasks. Currently is tracking down a Skin Dancer and figuring out what to do with a newly designed Hitmark which is the cloned and heavily modifed dead alpha.
@woodwwad The local Technocrancy Mage been cooking it up for a while. The Werewolf Hitmark shapeshifts into all five forms and has all the memories of our former alpha.
I guess my personal top list of the clans would be: Nosferatu, Gangrel, Brujah, tzimisce, malkavian, ventrue, giovanni, followers of set, tremere, lasombra, toreador, assamite and ravnos.
I'd play an assamite more gladly than a ravnos. Those fools never got me interested in them.

Well Assamites make nice antagonists if your players did something bad enough oder became powerful enough to make someone their enemy who calls for an assamite. I dont think they are actually meant to be a pc clan but can add some fun and teach the players a lesson "What did we do to deserve this?" makes them think who they may have angered. Can lead to a story about who sent that assamite (finding out usually involves a lot of false assuments - creating even more enemies...^^)
I guess I'm lucky then. In the one game I played with my Malk, we never had an Assamite. We had a few Gangrel, a Nosferatu, 1 Malkavian (me), One or two Toreadores as well as Brujahs and Ventrue. For as much of the game we played, it was fun. Too bad we never got to finish it 8(

The first (and worst) game of Vampire I ever ST'ed had an Assmite in it. Mind, this was 1999 so we'd all just seen The Matrix so you just KNOW who this character was. There's one way to make a Billy-Bad-Ass Assmite even more no-selling: base him off Keanu Reeves!
In retrospect though, this horrible experience made me grow and evolve as an ST, if for no other reason than to make sure it never happens again.

A man the character a human apologist who would automatically side with the demi-humans on everything. The players enjoyed him. But I totally get what you are saying about matrix characters, that movie didn't do the hobby any favors for sure.

Anyway the Matrix Man Assmite was made when we were all freshman in high school so things like that are bound to happen. Luckily we all went on to have some very successful forays into Vampire chronicles with interesting characters all around.

Yes, I find them too rigid & a bit limited. The big problem is I don't really find the clan interesting & the sort of character concepts I enjoy would be hard to work into a member of that clan. Just a little too dull.

So he would offer services trying to sell him self out, he jokingly admited he felt like a hooker with a scimatar.Still funny to look back on and that is what it is all about.
I agree with you but of course i did have a friend who played an ASSimite in a LARP game and he was the center of the city. All the main characters that got made when he was created got blown up (not by him) this left a void of power elevating him to a status that his age and stats didn't support. The funny thing was no one knew this some even thought he killed the other leaders of the community. I even ran a game where all the characters who attended were just in a dream of this lowly one.
Love your videos, I'm a hardcore roleplayer too and I'd like to hear some opinions about, not just VTM, but games like Mage: the Ascension or Demon: the Fallen! Nice reviews... BTW You ranted on my fave clan, but it's okay! See ya!
@IncursorVerde Well hopefully you are redeeming them, I tell you I've seen more terrible assamites than I have any other clan, just embarrassing play. If you've only recently started looking at my vids, check out my WOD play list. I have maybe 7-8 vids on mage (I've especially had good comments on my Nephandi video) & there will be more mage coming soon. Always good to have hardcore rpers aboard. For me, this is a beautiful art form.

I agree with you but of course i did have a friend who played an ASSimite in a LARP game and he was the center of the city. All the main characters that got made when he was created got blown up (not by him) this left a void of power elevating him to a status that his age and stats didn't support. The funny thing was no one knew this some even thought he killed the other leaders of the community. I even ran a game where all the characters who attended were just in a dream of this lowly one.

Love your videos, I'm a hardcore roleplayer too and I'd like to hear some opinions about, not just VTM, but games like Mage: the Ascension or Demon: the Fallen! Nice reviews... BTW You ranted on my fave clan, but it's okay! See ya!

@IncursorVerde Well hopefully you are redeeming them, I tell you I've seen more terrible assamites than I have any other clan, just embarrassing play. If you've only recently started looking at my vids, check out my WOD play list. I have maybe 7-8 vids on mage (I've especially had good comments on my Nephandi video) & there will be more mage coming soon. Always good to have hardcore rpers aboard. For me, this is a beautiful art form.
