I think you over reacted to my comment as the comment was not made as a criticism of the flight crew. They did a very nice approach and landing sequence. I was commenting on how freaky it would be as a passenger landing there for the first time and not familitar with the conditions. All is well! Cheers
I don't think I would enjoy being a passenger on that airplane and making that landing for the first time. Imagine looking out the window and seeing the side of a mountain level with your eyes and nothing but snow and ice all around. Not a comfortable situation.
Well for your info, this is one of three approaches to this airport, the other two was closed. First one due to low clouds, second one was closed because of high snowbanks on rwy 11.....so this was the only way to land this day, and i can assure that this two pilots did know what they where doing. Flying in Greenland is not an easy task, but pilots at Air iceland have years of experience flying there, and they are not on a sueside mission :)
