I have done 81 Vids so I can't expect anyone to watch them all. But I am very nervous when singing.. (You always look so relaxed) When I make a bad note singing I go OMG and crumble... If i am playing guitar or piano its ok cause i like mistakes.. Singings a whole different scary deal.
Maybe i will try again.. Haven't sung since then. I'm more proud of the song.
You seem like you've been writing songs forever, not just two (haven't seen the other one yet). I can see how challenging this would be to perform but that isn't the impression I got from your performance. You handled this very well. I have to say I like the jazz form. I have never tried a song like that but it's an intriguing structure. It sounds like you didn't enjoy the performance but I think that's partly because it was a new experience for you. Everything gets easier in time.

Honestly Andy, this is marvelous. I love your voice man, it has a very subtle yet strong quality. You put across what you sing in a very good way. Many of my favorite singers frase softly and don`t have a large range. Such as Shirley Horn. And have you heard Michel Legrand sing, I love it. I`d actually compare you to the vocal qualities of Legrand. Superb song too.

that's good work,andy....if you ever do another version,dont be afraid to put those heavier lines back in..dont be scared of the edginess..your voice is great... its a proper good lyric..and everything looks great and urgent just as it is.

David Lindley was wonderful tonite, (concert), and i did not record a single note, or get a pic of him.......it's OK....it is locked up in my heart and head....

Seems so. I always believed in the song. My first proper one. I went to see a Bob Dylan tribute band yesterday. Brilliant gig. I think I heard songwriting for maybe the first time!! Thanks Laurie.

Heck, Andy! I sound like you when I sing and I thought I was a singer! It was just the right sound for this sad little tale.
I did'nt think your nose was all that cute but the catapiller underneath it was a little sweetie!
I loved the "Can sing in tune but probably won't"comment in your profile! Reminds me of that Eric Morecambe comment to Andre Previn. "I was playing the right notes, Sunshine but not necessarily in the right order!"

Mary hears the greatness too;-), the penguin better lock his coveted suit up tight!! ....you remind me a little of Dr John the Night Tripper in a couple places..really dug your singin at around 2:22....the more you sing, the easier it gets the better it sounds......just another instrument..think youmentioned you are getting over a bug too?....always harder to pull off vocals with any bug about...just back for anotherlisten....:-)it was grand..

that's good work,andy....if you ever do another version,dont be afraid to put those heavier lines back in..dont be scared of the edginess..your voice is great... its a proper good lyric..and everything looks great and urgent just as it is.

It was originally going to be a song about Domestic Violence but I toned it down. Took out the line. He's careful who he chooses, to give bumps and bruises. It's a little dark.. Thanks for watching Scott !!
