does tom tom use any kind of internet service while on the road being used or gps signal has nothing to do with internet or data network?mine says poor gps signal on my 3gs while in car which i also dont have net svc in it

Great Review....Has there been any new information about the new update? If GMAP adds text-to-speech and landscape view(which I've never understood it don't have) I really think it will be the best GPS app currently(Price+Features)

hello, I saw your video about navigon, could you tell me if this g map has the same future the one that when you type a street address you don't have to finish typing and the street name appear .Thank you in advance .Very good reviews by the way.

Yeah, they're similar. I just double checked, and noticed that NAVIGON put in POI in the street name search. Not sure if that was there before.

One of the nice things about the standalone GPS's is that it's fairly easy to import your own lists of POIs. Do you know if any of the gps apps you've reviewed include such functionality?

Yeah, I don't think so. I haven't really addressed directly comparing stand-alone units just to keep things from completely going off the rails. It's hard enough between just apps. I think though in the $100 range+ accessories, stand-alone solutions really come into play. Thx
