Saw them open for Decemberists - I was pretty much anticipating having to sit through some mediocre opening band - boy was I wrong. Can't wait to see them live again (in a week!) Damned glad to live in the Great Pacific Northwest. Home of great beer and even better music.
Discovering a band by clicking through suggested videos is the modern day equivolent of buying a record based only on the cover. Its always sweeter when you find a band you like this way.
Anyone know the chords for this? having trouble cracking it on the old guitar. Beautiful song, heard it first on the Remembering Sion Milosky video. Wait till Radio 1 get their hands on this, it will be overplayed within the first half hour. A lot of love you this song/album/band.
@neil057davis Hello! Ive been playing in a simple way by placing the capo on the third fret. Then start by playing G, then Em, C, G, D. Then during parts where the lyrics are like "in a senseless moment, everything you're working towards or I am no god fearing man...." play Am, G, D--then back to G to start it all over again. Hope this helps!
I remember when my friends and I used to come watch you guys practice after school in the house on the hill behind West Salem High School.
Anyone who comes from Salem Oregon and can make an honest living in the Arts is considered amazing in my book. So lame is a pretty un-motivating experience. But I'm from there and so is Typhoon... so basically we Rock!
Sheer brilliance in the art of music like a masterful painting with not more than one or less stroke necessary in the emotion it evokes. Incredible work by this band of ten.
This song, as unknown as it is to the world, contains more emotions than any other song I've ever heard in my life. It was the song my ex showed me, and it will be the only thing I have to remember her. She's gone, but this song is like a window into my memories with her.. it's hard to listen to this song, and even harder to write it, but this song is just.. beautiful.
@CuriousDrums the "vintage" stuff is from a member of the band's family from the early 60's. we went to the same beach, with the same super 8 camera with the band and filmed them there.

@grandartsdesign You mean Sion Milosky? The big wave rider has a name, and it deserves to be spoken.
I admit, I too, found this song this way. Listened to it like 20 times a day since.

@chrissrecinos I wouldn't be surprised if the lead singer has listened to a ton of Counting Crows, if you get a chance to see them. Do. =)
