  • isnt this whooole line nocturnel??

  • What you mean????

  • Like ONLY at night?

  • Oh okay I understand what you mean..so there most runs on night. Between 10:00pm to 10:00am or 11:00am because of Amtrak Restricts around in morning to night that's why they runs on night to morning that's it...if you want know about those schedules so I will give you the link if you interests...

  • but doesnt NS own the line? I think its stupid that amtrak controls it, they should run trains out of enola and have them wait for entrance onto the NEC

  • NS Port Road Branch? Yeah that NS own the line does that...Yeah that right that where they trains out from Enola to Perryville. Yeah that right they should wait for plan to entrance onto the NEC as which if NS train allows to another NS train pass them from Baltimore or Delaware if clear then they plan onto the NEC head to Baltimore or Delaware

  • It seems like a cool line to railfan, i might try sometime

  • Yeah, that's right so better I suggest you should go to Perryville, MD around at 10:00pm or 10:30pm to 9:00am or 10:00am so you will catch alot trains in late night to mid morning after that late morning there are dead train mean no trains around in evening to late evening...

  • is there a good amount of conrail action, maybe I could go up by Enola when I go see the yard

  • Yeah, of course there mixing with CR and NS do thing. And, hope you can go up to Enola.

  • so is there ever NS trains sitting at perryville in the afternoon?

  • Eh, most sometime NS trains sits at Perryville around in early morning or morning because sometime there NS sits wait for let to NS pass from Baltimore (northbound and westbound)

  • thats cause amtrak restricts them to running after 10pm on fri, sat, and sun. its my fav spot to railfan, check out my vids

  • Yeah, that's right cause Amtrak restricts lol..I surprised that you films NS and CSX in Perryville area its was so awesome!

  • Hi David,

Another excellent photo collection! I was lucky enough to be able to go camping along the Port Road branch with friends from Lancaster back in the early 1980s. It was still electrified back then, and I was fascinated to see a couple of trains hauled by Conrail E44 electric locomotives. Wish that's what was still running there.

    Great job!

    Dave

When, 12G is begin travel on NS Port Road Branch about 1 1/2 or 2 hour then until arrives Perryville, MD so then take wye left heads to East and, entrance on NEC Amtrak then keeps travel heads to north east around about 1 hour and, arrives to Delaware!
