I agreee with a similar post about a race of spider people who explain poor Spidey's dilemma. Additionally I want to add that I own the entire 60's collection on DVD and was elated to learn how many people crave this very collection. This particular episode entitled "Home" on the second half is especially rivetting. I am attempting to find the original scores for the 60's cartoon animated by the great Ralph Bakshi, best known for the controversial "Fritz the Cat" animated feature.
I have to say something about this: It would make a great sequel to the Spiderman Movies. A sequel where Peter feels that he doesn't know why he has spider powers and stuff, until he meets a group of spider people who explain his situation. Anyone out there agree with me?

MUCH OF THIS MUSIC HAS REMAINED IN MY HEAD FOR OVER 30 YEARS! ALL CLASSIC. I DISCOVERED THESE IN 1980 AT AGE 10 AND WAS IMMEDIATELY HOOKED. HAVEN'T SEEN THEM FOR YEARS, BUT STILL REMEMBER MANY OF THEM BY NAME. THEY DON'T DO IT LIKE THIS ANYMORE AND THEY NEVER WILL! WHAT DO KIDS HAVE TODAY? GROSSLY DEFORMED ANIMALS THAT BURP, FART AND STUPID OBNOXIOUS CHARACTERS THAT CUSS AT AND HIT EACH OTHER. LIKE THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE COOL OR FUNNY OR SOMETHING. SPIDERMAN ROCKS! YESSSS!
@truthaintpretty You make good points. I like a cartoon that I can watch in mixed company of adults and kids and be entertained. I never tire of the music soundtrack as well.
I'd sure like to find this music on CD or something. I would think by now that someone must have compiled it in some fashion over the years. I recently discovered that the original Hawaii 5-0 music is available (also very classic), so why not this?
Who exactly made these stupid rules? At 1:28 how does the spider appear? 2:45 the city looks strange. 3:36, 4:27 guards just leave. At 5:35 nobody. The rules that prevent strangers from leaving don't apply to strangers? Their leader looks and is senile. Bit of a coincidence the ray and bomb. Spiders have eight eyes. Stealing equipment might influence civilisation. 7:34, later giant warriors inhabitate Mars.
This series NEVER gets old..incredible. In my 40's and I can still watch every minute. Please, somebody let me know the name of the "chase" music at the 0.08 mark. All of the spiderman background music is CLASSIC but THIS song is straight KICKIN. It's also in "Pardo Presents".

This is the best episode, considering the combination of music and "new" animation. Honestly, I would have thought it would have made a great storyline in the comic. But then, they would have had to include a 45 record with it, to get the full effect.
I grew up watching these as a kid and was so entranced by the wild music that while riding my bike (with the banana seat) I would imagine myself swinging like Spidey is. Awesome! Thanks so much for tapping into my childhood.
You got that right, it is the second best track of the entire run. The Gorillia music in Dimond Dust is my favorite, Start searching the KPM music library. You may find that track.
0:17 YES HE'S SWINGING FROM ACTUEL BUILDINGS!!!! 0:24 Never mind... 0:41 Wuh?... 0:55 "I must've swung across half the United States." SWINGING FROM WHAT!!! 1:35 HUH?? 2:19 "I don't believe it." Believe it Peter, your in Jetson land! 3:13-3:37 WHAT DOES ANY OF THIS HAVE TO DO WITH HAVING SPIDER ABLITIES?? 3:55 Wow those are some sturdy support beams 5:38 Well, good thing there was a hole conviniently in that part of the roof.
I love this series so much; from the music to the animation scheme to the campy plots. I didn't grow up with this show but its always been one of my favorite shows ever. The Bakshi episodes did steal stories from teh earlier ones and he re-used animation like crazy but it still was great.
I didn't grow up with the show since I was born in the late 80s but I watched this on VHS when I was younger and after I saw it once I loved the show since then. If only they aired this on TV because this is a true classic.
It's a personal fav of mine too. It had been over 30 years since I watched it too. They didnt play it all that often when they aired the reruns in the 70s.
How cool is this?! I haven't seen this since I was a kid during the 1970's. This is probably the coolest classic spider-man episode, 'cause Carol (and the other "spider-men")has the same powers as Spidey. And the 1960's psychadelic music was cool too! Thanks for the clip!
