  • Learning Karate was ahead of his time. Elvis still rocks. Loving his sport and adapting the Gi to his stage costume was way ahead of his time. He is and always will be an enigma. You had to heave been at least fifteen years old in 1977 to understand.

  • Idc , I still love him(:

  • ha ha with sun glasses..he was a good singer but in karata he was terrible.

  • Elvis really makes himself look so bad here. Poor man, to young to die to fat to live...! My grandmother could of blocked his pathetic kick then kicked his red neck arse..

  • Wanker

  • @grichie87 u mom

  • LOL Elvis, take some midol and get over it.

  • What a peculiar performance. Elvis looks absolutely STONED @ 0:59 And holy cow, did he kick Bill Wallace with shoes on? OMG his technique and form from 0:41-0:51 ...simply terrible.

EP was a great entertainer, singer, and generous man...but his love for MA obviously outweighed his skill.

  • Damn! He went all Ninja Turtle on poor Red

  • Wow...........that is TERRIBLE form. Pisses me off that I had to earn all of my ranks over the last 25 plus years. Plus, that "I'm sooo cool look on his face. Brilliant artist, and he loves MA, but he doesn't have the talent, or needs more practice and hard work. I'm sure the Elvis worshipers will get there panties in a bunch over any negative Elvis comments.

  • @gentlegiant6585 no your right ... i had 20 years brown belt karate.I would have black belt 8 dan in 4 years if my name whas elvis

  • Isn't that Bill "Superfoot" Wallace in the stars and stripes?

  • Elvis moves, remind me Ed Parker's on 60s old films.

  • as always >>>> great ,

    i miss you Elvis ;..)

  • I admit I got / get a little agitated when I hear people critise the king. And I also admit I am far from perfect, and Thank You for pointing out my inadaqicies, I will work on my temperment. But noone Claimed Elvis was a kenpo Master. However Elvis was a Great Ambasador for the Arts, and as far as how "Good" he was is subjective. Please except my appoligies for any offense I have caused anyone!

  • @ ALL the MORONS critisizing ELVIS's techniques, and Certifications. You bunch of Sissies couldnt carry the Kings jock strap. I get frustrated hearing a bunch of Wannabee's talk shit about The King. I'd be more interested in hearing stories your mothers could tell about her "Heyday" as a truck stop lot lizard. None of you looser Bastards should even be looking @ this video, cause your not qualified, go back to a subject in which your more adept! may I suggest the subject of Homosexualism.

  • @mrmasterlee1 Considering the peaceful and spiritual tone of the 'Be like water' quote on your channel page, I'm surprised to hear you spout such venom. Sycophantic, close-minded attitudes like this are why poor examples of Elvis' skill will continue to be worshiped and held out as 'perfect examples' of Kenpo, while truly GOOD footage of Elvis's skill in his earlier years will never be seen. Threatening or berating people doesn't exactly strengthen your position, just saying. Peace.

  • @elvisontour95, Man you've got problems. 1st, if your a black belt like you claim you would know Elvis and Red have to pull thier punches to keep from killing each other. As far as to the quality of Elvis's kick, It would work good enough to take out a Big Mouth PUNK like you. Show some respect BOY. Your very lucky you can hide behind your computer or I would EDUCATE you U.S.Male style! :) TCB

  • amazing! <3

  • When Elvis executed his moves on stage he looked like someone that tries to perform martial arts moves but doesnt really know anything.

  • "Tard" Jitsu

  • black belts winjing about black belts? Elvis was a true karate pioneer trainned by indiginous lineage masters that included Bruce Lee. look at his natural gait, his poise and grace!! his red belt is way higher than a black belt! a true master! ous

  • @muraaak If you do some research, you'll find that Elvis' red belt was part of a 'costume' that was created for him for this part of the film he was working on. It's NOT in fact a legitimate indication of his rank, nor were his 7th & 8th-Dan ranks TESTED for, they were AWARDED. I don't deny that he was devoted to karate, nor that it helped improve his stage performances. He had incredible teachers, but in Kenpo it is simply not possible to earn that level in 3 years' time. Good performer ONLY.

  • Was he doing shiatsu massage on the opponent there before he broke his neck?

  • I'm sorry but he clearly had no idea what he was doing it just looks pathetic to be honest all the exaggerated movements are terribly bad. You can tell it was all just for show. I've been studying Karate for 20 years and this don't look nothing like we train!

  • Elvis could sing but he would of had his ass handed to him as a fighter.

  • Go, Elvis!!!

  • a comedy

  • Wow. Elvis sucked at Karate.

  • Only the king could get awy with this

  • yeah even the dude who 'trained' elvis said priscilla maxed out at green belt and could still kick elvis' ass.

The fat man also bought a high rank in tai kwando by paying the instructor 50 grand lol

  • @Googlystube too right mate!

  • HEY I DON'T MIND ELVIS'S KARATE ANTICS. IT IS OBVIOUS HE GETS A KICK FROM BEING IN DOJOS, MAYBE HE WANTED SOMETHING NEW FOR HIS ACT. FRANKLY AM AMAZED HE WOULD EVEN FIND TIME TO LEARN A SINGLE FORM OR KATA, LET ALONE SPAR.

WHAT I CANNOT STAND ARE THE ASS KISSING MINIONS WITH SUPPOSEDLY

KARATEKA BONA FIDE CREDENTIALS. TAKE THE FOOL WITH THE BLACK JACKET FOR EXAMPLE...SHEESH, GROOPIES WOULD'VE ACTED WITH MORE DIGNITY.

AHHH, BUT THE AURA OF FAME.

  • @wp1953 Those white shoes he wore always preplexed me too, but I read something recently that said he'd had surgery to have an ingrown toenail removed, and he kept his shoes on to protect that toe during filming. The barefoot shot of him was taken during a different seminar; they shot several times for the 'movie' he wanted to do. The white boots are certainly iconic though, aren't they? Yes, his 'day job' as singer will always be the more enduring, I think! ;D

  • Only Elvis would do karate in his white boots! At least there was one shot of him barefoot. I think he was a very talented man, but not in karate! I know nothing about it & I've always been able to tell he really wasn't doing it correctly. Oh well, good thing he kept his day job!!

  • @snkhuong Elvis studied Kenpo karate, but his is very sloppy, not proper form atall; a lot of this footage was staged. If you want to see TRUE, LETHAL KENPO, go look up Ed Parker, Jeff Speakman, or some better examples, and you'll see the real thing. Kenpo: DEADLY...but Elvis? Ehhh, not so much, sorry.

  • @elvisontour95 I guess myself and the other person win this 'argument by default huh? You see it's pathetic people like you that ruin Martial Arts for the rest of us by throwing in opinions on styles you never studied claiming you know something when you shoiuld be humble and admit your ignorance - Elvis studied Ma for 17-18 yrs and made 8th? - you claim you just got yours AFTER 27 years? I believe YOU got yours, but who's fooling who? Elvis sure did'nt....

  • what style is it ? looks so lethal like pure karate

  • Comment removed

  • @snkhuong LETHAL? whats that hand flailing gonna do when there's a foot in his face? you think he can catch a real karateka or trained muay thai fighters kick? what about if a grappler gets a hold of him? thats there specialty and once hes down hes screwed. if your fast enough you can avoid it but most arent, sometimes not even the best. i guess this can work if someones trying to steal your purse, but this is extremely hard technique to actually use effectively. ive done both, its way different

  • @elvisontour95 It's relevant because Elvis is making muck of it! You plonk stocking - if that was BJJ he was messing up would you still stand over that! I am earning my belts dipshit - unlike Elvis here who so obviously BOUGHT them - comparing his and Dave Hebler's kicks - no comparison - Elvis sloppy and the height of disrespect - wearing and kicking with footwear in a dojo - or did you miss that bit? Come on Mr I'm an 8th - dan - must be the 8th dan of Kelloggs cornflakes freebies LOL!

  • @elvisontour95 If it's a snap front kick he's trying to do - well the guy with the black Gi on shows him how it should be done - as he does when he demos a technique - unlike Elvis - with his spinal 'noogie' LOL WTF technique is that? - the one for little pony tailed girls? - is that what YOU teach? - as for his 'kicking' on stage - he looks like he's having some sort of fit - or may be that was 'dancing' sure wasn't Kenpo.

  • @omurchu12 I thought the adults were going to talk. Did you hear something? Sounded like a lot of high-pitched whining to me. Or maybe the muffled sounds of ass-kissing, can't decide.

  • @elvisontour95 I HAVE earned my black belt--and more than ONE of them!! And yet I STILL don't recognise that so-called 'kick' as belonging to any style, unless you include 'SPASTIC HAMSTER' style. While we're at it, explain to me again why it's so impressive that Red there is blatantly PULLING his punches on Elvis' midsection? This is GOOD Martial Arts!? FECK NO! This is a PERFORMANCE. We WORKED bloody HARD for our ranks, didn't get them just handed over for being famous; THAT'S the difference!

  • @bikizuzu fuck dude I just spat my dinner at spastic hamster style

  • @bikizuzu i really love elvis and his songs but i am not sure if he was a good fighter lol. But he liked karate so what does it matter. I am sure he got the belts because he was famous. Maybe

  • @tearsfromheaven1 I'm a huge Elvis fan as well. I still love his music, & watching him on stage & knowing he did Kenpo as well kept me motivated when I was a kid learning Shotokan. I just fervently wish there was some footage of him in his earlier years before all his illness & drugs that showed his true skill. It's a fact that his higher ranks were awarded, but I'd have liked to see him in form from when he earned his FIRST black belt. I bet he was actually pretty awesome when he was younger.

  • @elvisontour95 Again obscuring the issue - no-one is perfect sure, not even you pal - but NO-ONE is that BAD either - not is they are supposed to be an 8th dan - LOL - You Muppet! Christ! If I was in your club and you showed me that muck and said it was good I'd want my money back! Any of this joker's students on here? Tell the muppet you want your money back - he ain't got nothing to teach you - find a real teacher who can tell good from bad - this idiot can't.

  • @elvisontour95 Coming from one who is supposed to a teacher and who apparently runs his own dojo(must be one of those mail order ...ahem...black belt ...'courses') If you can stand over martial arts being done that badly and still call it good - then I'd pack it in if I were you - and if I was a student of yours, I'd have to question your ability to define/teach good martial arts - and yes it is relevant - get your tongue out of Elvis's arse and be objective, you muppet!

  • @elvisontour95 Besides only cowards (who can't even spell correctly or structure a sentence correctly ) have to hide their comments in the darkness of their lies because the cold harsh light of truth makes them look like the fools that they really are - an 8th degree - sure that's not the 8th grade? throwing your toys out of your pram because nobody agrees with you? Here, here's another dan for you - now go in the corner and suck your thumb, the adults want to talk

  • @elvisontour95 Your actions are cowardly. We seem to both be well-trained, highly-skilled Martial Artists; however, 'hits' are NOT what makes one great. I don't have 'hits' online; I take MY hits for REAL in the line of fire every day as a paid protector. I count on the men that work with me to be just as highly-trained & reliable. The issue here is SKILL, NOT reputation. I don't care who YOU or ANYONE is, if you can't take the heat, GTFO the kitchen. Elvis didn't EARN his rank with SKILL.

  • @bikizuzu I would'nt worry about a muppet like this - the fact he can't even see that this is bad Kenpo shows he got his grades from a packet of Kelloggs Corn Flakes - He knows nothing about Kenpo - never studied it in his life and yet he 'knows good Kenpo' Rhee openely admits to giving Elvis his 7th and admits that Elvis was NOT as good as a proper REAL 7th - This muppet hides behind obscuring the facts because that's all he can do.After 20 plus yrs of training I hope I'm never as blind as him

  • @bikizuzu Sir I couldn't agree more I highly doubt any Sensei or any true belt holder would be founded dead in the bathroom, on the toilet.

  • @gogi5585 Sadly, despite Elvis' love of karate, he was still a victim of his addictions--and those came as part of his lifestyle. It's a shame that karate couldn't have helped him rise above all that, as many of us who study martial arts hope and truly strive for the peace, spiritual enlightenment, and/or personal growth that a lifetime of serious MA study can bring. His end was a disappointment for many people, both those who idolised him for his music AND for his love of karate.

  • @elvisontour95 You keep posting comments to me then removing them. You refuse to have a reasonable debate out in the open so I'm calling you on it & you WILL get my response. @bikizuzu perhaps yOU are unworthy. i also am dubious of your credentials. mine are online with millions of "hits". i refuse to give my true last name, Nevertheless, suffice to say that I am quite able to back up all of my claims to be candid. i am here as I enjot the music as well as the martial arts of the king, Elvis.

  • @elvisontour95 They may not be perfect but most are a hell of a lot better than Elvis - that's for sure - just face the facts - on this evidence - HE SUCKED - you know I'm sorry it turned out to be Elvis sucking at it - but bad Kenpo, bad ANYTHING should never be applauded - it's about honesty - and if you are truthful you'd admit that - it don't take anything away from Elvis - some of us are good - and some are'nt some of us EARN our grades and some get them other ways - he DID. Be real man.

  • @elvisontour95 You don't NEED to know who I am. First you tell me I'm "unworthy of a reply" (YOUR words), then you tell me you don't have a problem with me questioning you. Fine: I'm seriously questioning your credentials &/or experience. I've been following your comments since you started making them on here. My problem with THIS VIDEO is that it falsely perpetuates the idea that Elvis was both a skilled Martial Artist OR that he DESERVED his elevated rank. Look at him on here: NOT WORTHY; sad.

  • @elvisontour95 Ha Ha looks like I'm NOT the only one that thinks he sucked eh? I told you - you can teach me nothing as I learn Kenpo - the Traditional system - I could care less about Tatum except he still looks better than Elvis doing Kenpo. John MacSweeney brought Kenpo to Ireland, He taught Jordan,Mahon,Rice and Conway , they taught Brendan Walsh my GM who taught my current GM. Kieran - They were ALL graded by Parker - who the fuck are you to question that? You child-! It's about Kenpo.

  • @elvisontour95 Your anger seems to be getting the better of you. The comment you removed wasn't for me but since you mistakenly addressed it as such, it went to my email & I was still able to see it. You may consider me unworthy to reply to but perhaps that is because you cannot find fault with the way I questioned you OR my experience. Your attitude compared to those advanced ranks that I still study with perplexes me; so much anger, so little self-control. You have not even mastered yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • @elvisontour95 You're Hachidan in BJJ and you say yourself you know "decent Kenpo"...I'm sorry, HOW does this qualify you to judge the Kenpo skills seen here as worthy of a 7th-Dan rank or not?? You're contradicting yourself. Based on what we're shown here, Elvis was either on drugs OR completely incompetent at Kenpo at this filming, neither of which I'd be proud to associate with him. With all due respect, I'm not convinced you're qualifed to judge him OR other Kenpo practitioners.

  • I get really discouraged when these examples of Elvis' so-called Martial-Arts 'prowess' surface. I hope everyone realises that his 7th-Dan ranking was HONOURARY, not one he legitimately earned. Yes he loved his karate, but this demo did NOT depict the control or skill necessary to be REMOTELY worthy of that rank. SLOPPY. I say this from nearly 40 years of combined experience in a variety of MA skills & as a black belt & former instructor. Elvis will always be a legend in MUSIC, not MA, sorry.

  • @elvisontour95 Still taking bollocks mate - are'nt you? Look this is'nt about Elvis you clown - as for your grade well it's not in Kenpo is it? So what are you defending exactly? I could care less that this is Elvis - It's bad Kenpo period. If it was ANYONE doing this - famous or not - I'd still say it was bad. If you with your senior grades think it's good then I have ZERO respect for your opinion - WTF does BJJ or the other style qualify you to pass comment on? stick to what you think you know

  • @elvisontour95 I don't need to go to any Dojo you're in - espectially since you think that's 'good' Kenpo - I go to the oldest Kenpo dojo in Ireland . What does that mean anyway? - nothing - this crap Elvis is so badly performing is still that - crap - if you were half the MA person you claim to be - you'd agree. If that was a bad Elvis imitator badly singing one of his songs would you still call that good? I think not - You and the rest would be screaming - Disrespect!! Grow up!

  • he looks stoned.

  • @elvisontour95 AMEN!

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes And neither will you - you need to take the Elvis glasses off baby and see the world in it's real form.

  • @elvisontour95 Another thing - I do study the art and I have Parker's 5 books he wrote called 'Infinite Insights into KENPO' all he says in book 1 about Elvis - is that he paid for some uniforms for a team Parker had - WOW there's a lot there huh? I ''d imagine if that was all he had to say - Elvis made quite the impression huh? Funny how Ed Parker never endorsed this trash OR that it's only after his death that it comes out - he endorsed and trained Jeff Speakman - go check that out.

  • @elvisontour95 You need to learn how to spell check you idiot, I 'll give you this - yes Karate comes from Kung Fu - everyone knows that - But again you try and deflect the issuem Elvis - great singer - shite at Kenpo - at least in this trash ok? And as you DON'T study Kenpo - you know jack pal, Parker trained Presley HIS way so shove your chinese buddy sideways - got nothing to do with the lousy Kenpo in the clip - shut it and be thought a moron, than open your yap and prove it - muppet!

  • @elvisontour95 Still talking crap? never mind you can't even spell - I can't even read half your garbled nonsense - first off - Elvis trained under Ed Parker - who in fact graded him under his OWN form of Kenpo - As usual ontour95 you can't even get the basics right - as for this 'Rick Serrins' I just checked the list of Black belts on Al Tracy's kenpo site and he ain't listed - another BS fact - but all missing the point - Elvis was crap at Kenpo, You're so pathetic....

  • How could u guys argue about Elvis and karate. The guy put barely an effort in to it and was awarded belts because he is/was the most awesome man who ever lived and it was probably an honor to train with him. When your high you feel you can do anything too, ever watch cops when they have to take down some of those crazy sob's on PCP. Love the king though, 1 of a kind !!!

  • Anybody notice when he takes out Red when he has the gun Red is still holding the gun. So much for disarming him but he gave him a hell of a noogie !!!

  • @elvisontour95 Probably because like me - liking Elvis is neither here nor there - Karate is the point - and that truth is he was bad - on this evidence - at it - mind you I have seen him doing some 'horseplay' outside a tour bus and that looked bad too - Again - what the feck does a Jiu-Jitsu master know about Kenpo - stop obscuring the facts. He should have done the film when he was off the drugs and probably he might have done a better job.

  • @elvisontour95 Good - then with that in mind - stop saying that this travesty is 'good' Kenpo - I'll concede that maybe Elvis had good knowledge - but his execution was pathetic. But hey, I have Ed Parker himself doing an old advert on my channel - see for yourself - or are you really that blind?

  • @elvisontour95 Anybody that has spent ANY time, even at junior level in Kenpo, would demonstrate those techniques better - go look at Jeff Speakman demonstrating on here - I have no idea why Red is pulling his punches or this throat push thing. The only ones who I've personally seen do that are the Shaolin Monks which Elvis ain't - He WAS the King as far as music goes - but as far as Karate goes, I'd be amazed if he made Black belt. I'm certainly not jealous - I just hope I am never that bad!!

  • @elvisontour95 Given - but not earned - amazing what money buys

  • The King do the do baby!!

  • @bestday1080 The King sing - but he muck at Karate baby!lol

  • Just incredible. Thx!

  • too much drugs elvis waaay too much

  • The only thing Elvis did that was worse than his karate was utilize his honorary dea agent status. Oh and his honorary police officer skills. Wish he was still around to go on patrol with officer Shaq and Steven segal lawman. Awesome guy though, you know you got juice when you can carry a gun into the white house undetected and give it to President Nixon as a gift.

  • @irishjohn831 Actually what he is performing looks more like Tae Kwon Do than Karate ;)

  • @Nekoyama69 Whatever it is - it sure ain't Kenpo!

  • @Nekoyama69 Unfortunately - it's a Kenpo 'uniform' he's wearing - so it's supposed to be Kenpo - it's very sad 'cos it's very bad.

  • and this is one of the things that caused the popularity of martial arts in the 1970s

  • as usual >>>>>>>KING

  • - hilarious and so tragic

  • This is Elvis is a great movie.

    I love it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • this video isn't normal....

  • First off, I really liked Elvis' voice and listened to his music since i was a kid. However his moves are severely lacking. I taugh martial arts for many years and he isn't very good. His kicks are sloppy. He hadn't trained his muscles enough to throw proper punches or kicks. He wasn't even mediocre. It's easy to spot a beginner or novice. Many ppl have received black belts or become a ranking dan not by skill but by knowledge. Forms and board breaking unfortunately are enough in some schools.

  • @think4meself that what you said about karate is sport karate....I understand you.....nowdays sports karate is the leader, and traditional karate is dying day by day....OSU!

  • WTF - Elvis a good martial artist - are we watching the same clip. - The guy was rubbish - whats worse - he appears to think he was great...

  • @somersetkravmaga... you don't know what you're saying!

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes apparently he does! I study Kenpo/Hapkido/Filipino Martial Arts. looks like he may do Krav Maga, What's your style? do you even train?

  • @omurchu12 I thought we were done with this! ... it's very clear you should practise more... somebody who is really doing the martial arts is free of ego... seems like the only thing you want to do is ATTACK... you got to work on your yin! enough said

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes Again you and your pathetic buddies just don't get it - do you? It's bad - real bad Kenpo - It makes me ashamed to see it - it's that bad - You know nothing about karate and in particular Kenpo - stick to the music and stop deflecting from the issue - he's shite at it!

  • @omurchu12 you'll never learn and that's SAD!

  • yeah elvis had his belt gave him, bloody hell money talk FACT

  • Always the king.

  • so funny! the king but not the king of Martial art!

  • @siwajo

do you have an 8th dan black belt then... cause Elvis had!

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes Which Elvis bought - Parker and Rhee both confirm this - I think he asked for a 7th because it had special significance for him - the number 7 that is - certainly not his karate - that was bad.

  • @omurchu12 you're just jealous!

  • I think the guy in the beginning getting kicked it the crotch wearing stars and stripes gi top is Bill Superfoot Wallace.

  • Great upload! Loved it! Big Thumbs Up.

  • Suspicious? Video posted April Fool Day. Is it real? ..... LOL

OW ..... Elvis, c'mon guy, lighten up, okay?

Thanks to friend melissapurplebaby1 for share.
