  • 4:19am stumbled on this. What a pleasant music. Great video too. Great job. I will probably play this every morning I wake up going forward.

  • It's nice when people try to sing mantras in more modern way but they shouldn't change the original melody. Authors of these mantras had deep knowledge about vibrations and frequencies.Well, still better than that lady Giga or what's her name :D

  • This sounds too Western, IMHO, and I am Western. I prefer keeping it the way it is originally.

  • with love to All!

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • i went to an ashram - they chant it with the same pronunciation as this song does - but a different pace

  • @sunlightblessing yes, its chanted at a faster pace generally.

  • What about to first learn how to read and chant this mantra before attempting this kind of musical mish-mash ? How could you think that a mantra can work when you even don t know how to pronounce it ? :)) It is like if you want to sing some English song without knowing English. Very few people would understand you .. Mantra is not just a song. But because nobody knows - this kind of funny renderings overflow the "market"

  • @violinoamore When a mantra is chanted in rhythmic tone with ups and downs, they create a melodious effect in the body . This effect can be defined as the Neuro-linguistic effect. The Neuro- linguistic effect will be possible even if you do not know the meaning of the mantra. Hence knowing the meaning of every mantra is not compulsory.

  • @chandra1085 Mantra is a vibrational pattern, that addresses a certain type of energy ...(as revealed to the sages of the past). Therefore the exact pronunciation is the very base of making the mantra effective. If you don t know how to chant the mantra properly, you are in a position of someone dialling a wrong telephone number. The way how to chant mantras have been prescribed and practised for millenias. Making pop songs out of them (without even knowing how to read them) makes them impotent

  • Prayers to Lord Shiva to establish universal peace and bless the human race to march towards realization and salvation.

  • gr8 1 thnks fr sharing.....

  • this is one of the most powerful mantra of lord shiva.

  • Alguien me puede decir en español a quien le hacen este tema o a quien va dirijido, gracias.

  • why dont people inform themselves and not seek eternal answers from transient things. Amongst others, there is a book called Bhagavad Gita which, Im sure everyone is aware of, includes lots of information for people like us living in Kali Age ( degenerate, degraded and impure times) aka New Dark Ages. This has been given by kind, enlightened, realised souls from previous centuries. Anything that is done with faith then the Lord rewards the devotee in that form. Cant locate the page but might post

  • shit!!! d wrdsin d is song r wrong!!!! - d end - its "mamritat" - bt in dis song dey say (n its also written at 1:33) "maaritat"!! - dat means 'kill me'!!! DO NOT use dis mantra 2 meditate!! it sounds gr8 bt its wrong n will only do u damage!!! - dats y foreigners shud get d pronounciations right!! or u'll end up harming urselves!!! :O

  • @wetfish20

And why are you talking in "D-inglish"??? "dis", "d", "dats". Its annoying

  • @soccerhero1

dnt gt annoyd buddy! inner peace! inner peace! :P

  • @wetfish20 yes annoying and not to mention rediculous...

  • @margabot1

nt as ridiculous as "rediculous' :P

  • @wetfish20

gentlemen, maamritat is a compound word: ma + amrit + (preposition) aat , which roughly means - not (to sever) from immortality

  • My dear friend, this is not religion but it is beyond religion ,boundless living style is called Hindoo ! Only peace ! peace !! peace !!!

  • wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Even though I was born in America, India is still where my soul was born and while reside.

  • すべての祝福!

    治まる。

  • very peaceful and relaxes the mind...beuatiful in everyway i like the images as well

  • To love others is also to love GOD

  • I mean, love and respect for animals should be the cause of being veg. That love will have as effect a spontaneous spiritual uman growth. The cause should be love, not the spiritual goal. We cannot say I'm veg so I will became a saint. This is a mind corruption...doesnt work like that. Just loving animal you automatically grow. In a place like india the problem is already trascended long time: in fact, there, animals have space in land and in deity, too!

  • How many of us Indians understand the true essence of all this? How many of us sees the divine in all humans.Thats called respect for all. We in India respect ppl only for their social position or class. A vegetarian by choice is far commedable than a vegetarian who blindly follows their religion scared by the consequences . Our glorious age old Indian teachings are not for any ignorant anybody, Indian or not. It is for everybody who wants to go little deeper than what is apparent.

  • @Vedantt29 do you think that the cow cares about why you dont kill him? Not at all! The important is that he's still alive...who cares why? We've to look from the amimal side otherwise we're making only mere philosophie. The important thing's that in the sky there're a lot of colored birds singin'their song.

  • @Sadawala65 If you say mere philosophie then I am forced to say mere spiritualism. Thats how deeply intertwined they are. A vegetarian by religion would not eat meat but may still be violent. Cause the basic philosophie may still be missing in them as much as in a meat eater or maybe more. I am talking about this holistic development. I believe( I may be wrong) such words of wisdom aim at that and not just killing birds/animals.

But yes religious vegetarians also has to make sacrifices.

  • @Vedantt29 To be veg is not a sacrifice but a bliss. I'm not speaking about uman growth, I just love allll animals and they have same rigth for life and space..umans are takin all space..we're not the bosses of planet.

  • Does anybody has mp3 of this magnificient Mantra? I would be thankful. Om Namah Shivaya!

  • @LoveSixties I have this mantra. It's one of my favorite mantras.

  • ...Ah, I forgot to say that this chanted mantra is THE BEST I heard in my life!!

  • To me India is number one. Is the only land where no animals are eaten. So the 30% of divine job is done. Indians, please remain always sweet and friendly as you are...dont become stupids like other materialistic places are. People, there, are so poor of spirit and belive me, is not funny at all. We've to pray all together because laught and cry is same in all world.

  • @Sadawala65 I agree, but if you see 'race' meditate more. These mantras meditations laws of reality belong to every one and every thing. We all come from the same source. To realize this is to break the illusion of the material.

  • @WarriorOfTheBlackSun Dear Warrior, good mornin(here are 9am)! I didnt see race, but the habits of race:being vegetarian is one of the most important thing to evolve human path. Until people dont understand this, there will be always karmic problems.People eat meat, cause they find prepared hamburgers in the market, let somebody else do the dirty work (kill the baby cow-cut in pieces etc). With my comment I try to encorage my beloved India to go on givin good example. We're not the "boss"of earth

  • @Sadawala65 Your statement india is number one implies you do ;) As I agree it is more common in India, to say its number one is to form judgment my friend ;) Not saying I disagree or agree.

  • @WarriorOfTheBlackSun I love India,Indians,I love the athmosphere, the nature, food, dresses, the friendless and timid way to be. Sorry, I never be in USA or US so I cannot speak...to say number one is a slang not the Thruth.May you're little jelous...no need...in my blood runs american rock music, too and Jim Morrison is the best!!

  • @Sadawala65 lol far from jealous, finding inner peace can't be to hard when you live in such a wonderfull place all the time. lol. I don't listen to Jim Morrison much ;)

  • OVER one BILLION people with the same shared history, language, culture, GENETICS and DNA,.................from north , south low or high caste..we ARE BROTHERS BY GENETICS.......BY CULTURE.....BY OUR ANCESTORS!!...hindu, sikh, buddist, jains we ARE ALL BROTHERS UNITED..BY OUR ANCESTORS...we all are one.......UNITE TOGETHER AND BRING BACK OUR REAL STRENGHT............dnt sell our sons and daughters dont erase 5000years of our past in one generation..STAND TALL AND CALL URSELF .ppl of DHARMA..

  • Thank you very much for this Divine and touching Mantra. It is THE healing Mantra in Indian philosophy.

  • Aum Sai Ram,

This is a very powerful healing mantra.

It is often used in Fire Ceremonies.

    and Heals All.

    Aum Sai Ram!

  • this chant accompanied with the soothing music is awesome. it is so serene

  • Comment removed

  • Nice - but too new age ... too studio sterile for my taste.

  • I would like to learn the chant but I am having trouble pronouncing the words, can someone more practised split up the words into more expanded syllables for pronuanciation purposes . Thank you ! blessed be mother god and father god.

  • This verse saved my life on at least one occasion. It also raised Lazarus from the dead. You should try it. I stumbled into it for the first time when I was teaching yoga 40 years ago.

  • Fabulous ....thank you greatly for your highly inspiring work .

    -

The Prophet sent Ibn Abi out with a party of 16 men to rob n rape women

One beautiful woman fell to Abu Qatadah. The Prophet asked him about her. He said, She came from the spoils.' The Messenger said, Give her to me.' So he gave her to him. (Tabari VIII:151)

  • I have no race. I belong to the human race. So do we all. One God. A God of love. Nothing else is necessary.

  • Perhaps you could add the Lyrics of the Mantra on the description, please? It'd help a big deal! Thank you for adding!

  • with my christian upbringing I did not notice chanting before but suddenly I wanted to know what the "Tina Turner" chant meant and I began to notice that my life was being positively affected by the chanting. I now chant regularly. It really helps when the mind is going into the negative place to focus on something positive. ti's just really learning to pray in a more primal language. I believe the vibration works with our DNA to produce results. All of this exists within us.

  • @weavemajic I wish all christian/catholic respect others and not judging someone if they're going to be saved. I've seen alot in mormon, jahova witness and scientologist hardcore discipline.

  • peaceful music, wonderful video !

  • fascinating video :)

  • Cannot find this track listed on that album, or others on iTunes. Can anybody help me locate it please? Thanks.

  • I find Pranic healing very interesting - to tell you the truth - i cant believe that this can be true. i have low back pain and my eyes get try in evening and virtually affects my vision - my eyelids try to close and i hve to consiously put efforts to keep my eye open. i consulted many Eye specialist but have not got any Relief. Can someone guide me - i am in Chennai,T nadu, India

    thanks and regards

    s ramji

  • dearone,

    try to be thankfull anyhow

your pain is paying off on your karma

    holck

  • @ramjiorama

Do you have a good chiropractor in Chennai? It sounds to me like a good adjustment of your spine would help the other problem. The problem with pain is that you become very tired when you hurt. It doesn't surprise me that your eyelids close. Your body is allowing you to sleep to compensate for the pain in your back. There is a device sold in the US called Spine Worx - it helps to align your body to relieve the pain in your back. Look it up and see if you can make one like it.

  • I think all illness, whether life threatening or not, is a lesson for your consciousness and soul, and a blessing in disguise.

Whatever your strife, your path to healing is a greatest gift. as for how, i suggest mediation, with very slow deep complete yogic breathing for at least 1hr-2. concentrate on ur breathing and feel the sickness leave you with every breath

The first step to true healing is Knowing that You Can and Will heal yourself.

May you gain much on your path

    Peace Love and light

  • very peaceful mantra.

  • you're right so I gave the form in brackets, depending on the preceding word

    -liberation (from death)

[and yes I should write maamritat]

but it's not important whether I'm right or not.

It's important that we all understand the relevant message of this great (maha) mantra

    aum namah Shi-va-ya

  • i am hindu!

  • मृत्‍युंजय महामन्‍त्र * Mrityunjay Maha mantra

  • Pronunciation:

    Om Trayambakam Yajaamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam.

    Urvaarukamiva Bandhanan Mrytor Muksheeya Mamritat.

    Meaning:

worship the three eyed lord Shiva, who is full of fragrance and who nourishes everybody with health and vitality. May he liberate me from Death and not from immortality; just as the ripe cucumber easily separates itself from the binding stalk !

  • This music is beautiful. Where can I get an english translation and also the lyrics as they are sung here? A prayer is not a prayer unless you know and mean what you are saying.

  • From the book 'Healing Mantras' by Thomas Ashley-Farrand 'Om Trayumbakam Yajamahe Sughandhim Pushti Vardanam Urvar-ukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Muksheeya Mamritat

'Shelter me, O three-eyed Lord Shiva. Bless me with health and immortality and sever me from the clutches of death, even as a cucumber is cut from its creeper.'

Don't get hung up on 100% accuracy - enjoy the mantra and chant as you will. Shiva will appreciate the effort - not punish the mistakes. Hey, it's my belief anyway. Enjoy! Shanti

  • marvelous! beautiful! great language/words/pronunciation! love pep

  • Attention Freinds !!, singer of this mantra is saying it WRONG. The words in end should be "MAMRITAT" while its saying "maritat".

Please be sure to know the correct words and pronunciation before start chanting a MANTRA. Its very important to be 100% accurate.

  • even if that woman isn't correctly spelled

    last sentence

here correct translation of the word

MUKSHEEYA - liberation, the final release of the soul from the chains of birth and death

MAMRITAT - death, corpse, deceased (from death)

  • A plausible alternative translation of mAmritAt (ma'amritAt) is '(me) for the sake of immortality'. Liberate me from death so that I may become immortal.

  • Thank you immensely for the video ,we need attempts like this in this day and age ,when we are short-lived, disoriented and unfortunate. For westeners to embrace Dharma is a miracle ,any effort should be appreciated .

  • what do you do when you don´t like what you c cuz it is not a little asian way of control and put people on to diff ships unitity or no divine true power no matter if you c bvavarian, wishnu, jesus cuz thats not what i beleive they are most of us are allowed to live a life to? but when you fly way what do you have with ya back less weight or heavier? isn´t it in some way caled responsibility? cuz now you know then you are not free you have a responsibility to mother blue.

  • Timely solution for human being !

  • Innocence(Bhola Bhaav) is important for chanting Bholenaath's Mantras not Accent..... This accent is western but the Pronounciation is correct..... and the bhaav(feeling) is pure.... and its 10000 times better than the T Series type of bhajans where the accent is indian though there is no Bhaav......

  • peace full! =)

  • its good .. dont bug everyone ... its the ascent thats causing little variation otherwise this is good ...and its from an album ....respect people....

  • this mantra is really good..the presenaion is really good..it reminds m of my grandma who died a in september and it stills touches me alot....thats why somtimes i like this mantra somthimes i dont..but this mantra is peace full and is really powerfull...keep saying this prayer and it will help alot...:)

    thanx

  • All appreciation for this video but a humble request, please try to do it a little better.

As they say, doing good is not enough, one has to do it well too.

    Thanks!

  • This is a lovely presentation of a very powerful healing mantra. I don't think they were aiming here for flawless Sanskrit pronunciation. If one doesn't like a video clip on You Tube, then move on. There is no need to be over critical. In this age of aggression and violence, we need gentle reminders like this of our true, peaceful nature.

  • PEACE FULL

  • beautiful and peaceful a conection with the i am. one with God

  • To all those, who have listened to this mantra, to this auspicious melody i say god bless you, it was his grace that brought this to your ears... All those that have commented negatively to others of a different culture (i.e. not hindu or indian), i hope that the shiv inside you sees how much you have disgraced him. Shame on u.

  • So many 'Gurus' posting comments...

  • this is pathetic ...such a divine and powerful mantra is supposed to be delivered in a crystal clear and flawless pronunciation...this is incorrectly pronounce...Kindly ban this video..thank you

  • Comment removed

  • ...Besides, when you die you may be reborn into Western culture; how then will you feel? Perhaps something like this will touch you to continue your search for the Divine...and the purity of teaching/lineage you so desire...

  • My next birth will depend on my karma. If I accumulated good or bad karma I would be born into a more enlightened culture or a more ignorant culture. Now it is left upto you to choose which culture is more enlightened or ignorant.

And to answer your question, I dont think about the future or after death. I live and think in the present and this is the best way to live enlightenment.

  • To vedas88: I understand your consternation regarding keeping the purity of the Vedas intact. However, please remember God accepts all offerings of true devotion; do not let ill-will into your heart. Like flowers in the wind, all songs of love bless the hearts they touch.

  • I agree Devotion accompanies all forms of worship, but there is a certain rule of conduct you need to follow.

Due of the westerners laxity, the vedic rituals have been destroyed. Where are the enlightened people, the scholars of the west. Why should I change our rituals because someone is an iconoclast.

Please be able to differentiate between Bhakti yoga and Karma yoga. The person who can amalgamate both paths while maintaining the purity and uniqueness of each path is truly enlightened.

  • Human Life is already Blessed when it was formed in the womb of the woman.

That Life, we humans have to respect. There is NO accident it is the responsibilities of both Man and Woman involved. So in the ancient sanskrit language it is written "Human Beings are Supreme Being"; means the humans are blessed to create the "New Life" (Jivan). So we have to respect this wonderful life.

  • I am not Indian, I do not follow this way of life, but I think that people, culture, and ways of doing things change over time. I found this chant to be very peaceful, so why blame others for being interested in this culture, in this religion? Not everyone is going to interpret everything the same, nor are they going to worship the same. If that is how they find peace- then so be it! We are ALL a part of this world.

  • you have a wonderful soul. We all have a space and you are so so right

  • @minnie10287

My dear friend, this is not religion but it is beyond religion ,boundless living style is called Hindoo ! Only peace ! peace !! peace !!!

  • @minnie10287 Nice thoughts.... Its all about where you find peace of mind.... And all human being are same...

  • vedas,

    1. exploitation of caste system was done by our own indian people.many people have been devoid of knowledge and spirituality.which the so called indian gurus are marketting to western world by yoga and other courses.2. hindu religion has progressive as times passd by,we shed bad things like sati and other things ,due to change in circumstances.we have good ones.3.i have never gone to himalayas ,so ,i cannot comment about

  • The exploitation of the caste system was carried out by the British and which turned the society to an economy based society from a spiritual society.

There is no evidence in the vedas or dharmashastras that support this horrific act.

The hindu religion has actually degraded. Idol worship, people have forgotten their dharma, caste system degradation, is all evidence of the sorry plight of the vedic dharma.

  • Read the kalki and bhavishya purana. This is Kaliyug, dharma will decline, and people will follow dharma according to their own whims.

If our own Indians support singing and dancing to the vedic mantras, only God can help us.

Acts like Sati ,materialistic pursuits, are all evidence of how a once spiritually advanced society has degraded to a dualistic materialist society.

Even Chaitanya mahaprabhu, a famous proponent of bhakti yoga, would have been aghast with the singing in the above clip.

  • vedas88, i think u are one of my fellow indian .i completely agree with others, vedas mantras does not belong to only u . it belongs to each and everyone who follows it.god made it and anybody can follow it

  • vedas88 - you being 'A STUDENT OF GREAT VEDAS', shud have known that there is nothing called foreigners. We all came from the same shell. World is a family - 'vasudaivakutumbakam'. Intolerance is evil. Appreciate the artist's attempt. I can feel the devotion in her voice and that is what is important.!

Good job and I love this song!!

  • If you'll had ever studied under a vedic guru, you'll would know what I mean about vedic chanting

I will not recant what I said about foreigners. You may seem I'm intolerant, but you have not observed how the vedic system has changed. The exploitation of the caste system, polluting of the vedic chanting, debunking our sacred rituals, were all carried out by foreigners.

Go to the himalayas and see how hippies smoke weed and do meditation. This is not what our sages had envisioned.

  • It is hard to understand why foreigners corrupt the great vedic mantras. Being a student of the great vedas, such chanting is an insult. By adding music and echoes and wrong tones, the whole essence of the mantras are lost

Devotion is good, but keep it to that. Chant the name of God but Vedic verses have to be chanted by pure and qualified people, not by some stranger.

  • Comment removed

  • HI Vedas88 that is very rude and it does reflect your origins of vedic decent!

  • Your reply shows your ignorance on the vedic culture.

  • Comment removed

  • Watch my videos or other videos on youtube. Watch the Yagyam Ghana path, thats how you chant. You may think I am rude but I am disgusted how non Indians or even Indians interested in the vedic culture, practice it in their own hippy way. Our sages have preserved this culture for a long long time and I will not let it degrade in front of my eyes.

  • I understand vedas88. This is the equivalent of taking the Christian song "Shall We Gather At The River" and singing "Shill Wee Gyther At Da Roover". If a person 'gets this' they do, and if they don't, they don't. I'm an American by birth and even I know that the Sanskrit alphabet's 50 letters must be spoken exactly because they resonate with certain chakras and nadis. People will be people, that much is for certain.~Trika
