@bozo47p thats so true man... hes my idol. although hes slowly gaining some steam with the mainstream with chickenfooot and all. but its a good thing I suppose. GO JOE
look guys this man is not a human hahaha i dunno what to sa about him how the hell is he playing all these things and the guitar is giving him it opinios to play the guitar its telling him what to do
guyz he knows every place in the guitar and he's making me cry omfg i love his fuckingg songs
reminds me of a Tribute to Robert Fripp and King Crimson the track "red" and yeah kashmir too ! awsome track ! Im in Amsterdam now !! Wish Satriani was here!
The intro sounds like it was inspired by Jimi Hendrix 1983 A Merman I Should Turn To Be, listen for the train coming through, only Hendrix and Satch can make their guitars evoke so much.
saw sach many times but did t see him on this tour, one of my all time favourit songs of satriani, super great sound, thanks for sharing this, GREAT !
You are all privileged to have Joe in our time. After he is gone, he will still be seen as a revolutionary just as Jimi Hendrix is now. Hail the KING............
looks like this is from a dvd or something...anyone know what its called? Ive seen most G3 live and satriani solo live dvds and ive never seen this before
It is pretty high quality but it is not from an American released DVD for sure otherwise I would have it. Wish I knew where it was from cause it is a great video.
Great track but the track title is completely out of whack... This melody is not oriental but rather South Asian, Middle Eastern and Persian flavor. I know this because I lived in all three regions. Joe, you are awesome, but this is a bit amateurish.
I think you have to look it up and stop advertising your ignorance. Or maybe you need to understand English so you can understand my comment. middle east is nothing like far east, which is consider oriental. I know cuz I lived there 15 years. I suppose you just read about it.
My favorite song from this album "Oriental Melody" , no It's got to be "Mind Storm", then again "Hill Groove", maybe it's "Belly Dancer". I'm so confused how do I pick a favorite song?
@TommittajaFIN How can you say such a thing? The main melody was completely identical! Granted Satriani played it, while Coldplay used it as a vocal melody but it was the same melody over the exact chord progression.
mm... well, i've only listened to coldplays "version" of it once, so... but who really DOES plagiarate? no-one would resort to that... :P (how do i spell plagiarate?)
@TommittajaFIN Their guitarist is a big Satriani fan, so the melody might just got stuck in his head and he might have thought it's his idea. That's what I think happened.
DaBossk, I think that comment proved that the fuckhead is, in fact, you. It seems to me like someone who has trouble grasping english should not request it in such a brash manner. Please leave the internet, we don't want you here.

Exbarman - I don't know where you got these vids from Strange Beautiful Music, but they are AWESOME! Its a pity these songs aren't more popular for his concerts because they are some of the best compositions of all his work. Oriental Melody, Belly Dancer, and especially Mountain Song and Mindstorm blow me away every time. THANKS!!
@JoeDog345 If you see Satriani enough times live you will eventually hear him play just about everything he has ever recorded. I never cease to be amazed at the stuff he busts out at his shows. I have heard him play stuff I never thought he would do live. But then again, he is just that damn great.
