  • Hey people,

I send a request to the "vpro", a Dutch TV channel.

A few weeks later (yesterday) I got a response.

They are working hard on it, they are struggling with the copyrights, the staff is trying to arrange a DVD with the whole broadcast on it.

ill let you guys know when I know more :)

  • Funky ass shit.

  • @jdubb242 Have you noticed how that riff from "Don't Touch That Stereo" is in "Sir Psycho Sexy"? Around 3:18, LOL! Much slower and a bit different, but it's the same musical idea... Frusciante the master in rip-offs too, hehehe

  • i would give ANYTHING to have been my age now, back then. when music was music, and the Chilis we're playing what's in there souls, funk.

  • Why does Anthony Kiedis remind me of marky mark here??? Oh and the song is part of the Yurtle trilogy.

  • Comment removed

  • sounds like a funky version of Ghosts in the Grave yard lol

  • This is the medley they play before Yertle The Turtle...don't know name...

  • The intro goes 2nd fret G, 5th fret G, 4th fret G, 2nd fret D. Just noodle around with those notes to get the rhythm. I learnt it by ear.

  • @04callwilk1 Thats awesome you figured that out!!! and it sounds pretty accurate. I have been lookin for this tab all over over and could not find it anywhere. kudos!!

  • @spangsman No problem man it's quite fun to jam along to. Just like all Chilli's riffs!

  • This is awesome, it's part of VPRO interview from february 1990, try searching for Yertle the Turtle / Cosmic Slop, there is 10 minutes long video on youtube including this.

  • John is the most amazing guitarrist ever... I mean, just listen to this!! Fucking awesome!!!!!

  • @funkysad That is JOHN FRUSCIANTE of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in this video. Prick.

  • @funkysad dude, slovak dies in 1988. this is 1989. and also, jack irons left when slovak died and that is clearly chad smith playing drums. get your facts straight

  • @funkysad fucking asshole, Hillel died 25/06/1988. This video, according to the desctiption, is from era 1989. So go learn a bit about RHCP story before posting your shitty arguments here, prick.

  • @funkysad It's John.

  • @funkysad HAHA YOU ARE WRONG, THE GUITAR PLAYER IS JOHN FRUSCIANTE.

  • @funkysad This is so not Hillel that it's funny.

  • The song is "Dont touch that stereo" but anthony is singing "Drop That Bomb". both songs are by Trouble Funk

  • Probably the coolest, rawest and most energetic guitar/bas-line I've ever heard. Geniously performed aswell!

  • the guitar, bass, and drums are from Don't Touch That Stereo by Troublefunk and the vocals are from Drop The Bomb by Troublefunk

  • @No1RHCPfan not the guitar though

  • froosh's hair in this video is almost cooler than his guitar part... =D

  • @Bohemian00Rhapsody that was hillel frusciante lol

  • is there any one who can send me this video, its fuckin awesome johns a total badass, would really appreciate it, if someon could send it to me..

  • @bosnianXHX search for "Yertle turtle - nozems-a-gogo" its a cover of a music (i dont know) cause always when they play that song they make jams and covers at the final part :)

  • trouble funk

  • Nozeems-a-go-go February 1990

  • what effect is john using here?

  • @mimameica I think its the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, or it could just be some flanger.

  • @renzolikescheez it's definatly the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble cuz he didn't have a flanger back then

  • @No1RHCPfan Ok with a name like that I'm not gonna argue lol

  • TABS

  • @rhcprealmadrid use your ear, it's not hard to figure out.

  • JOHN

  • the song name is "Don't touch that stereo" by Trouble Funk

  • gotta love fleas shirt!!!!!!!

  • holy shit...how come its only thirty seconds?!?!?!?!??!

  • pyschedelic sex funk from heaven itself.

  • i wish john frusciante join with the chilis only to play old songs , like mothers milk album , or freaky stiley

  • @carliarce I would kill to hear Good Time Boys live

  • @matiasespina91 menos mal qe se hablar en español :P

  • Why did you give him thumbs down! He's right! He does look like Will Ferrel!! jajaja

  • @manthisprog NO! WIll Ferrel looks like Chad Smith!! dont get it confused! haha

  • The riff John plays is a song called "Don't touch that stereo" by Trouble Funk, you'll find it on spotify

  • the song is "don't touch that stereo" by Trouble funk

  • that sound really wicked ! what's the name of the song

  • frusciante is cool but flea is much cooler cos he didnt leave te chili peppers

  • @Jordo1900 well, flea and anthony will never leave, they are the core of the chili peppers, john made them more melodic in a way.

  • cuz flea didnt have a addiction.

  • @Jordo1900 flea is more awesome but frusciante left for good enough reason. to focus more on his solo career with his exeptional natural talent.

  • the dancing and feel is sick. haha even though its just a cover its sick. fleas hair as he bounces around is hilarious as well as the trumpet player dancing in the background. this is epic and only 30 seconds

  • this is the end of the 10 minute yetle the turtle live not the trilogy

  • what song is that? xD

  • too. short. :O

  • Amazing. The best era EVER!

  • my personal favourite era

  • no, anthony bought johns 1962 strat [most often used on stage] in 1998 right when john re-joined the band, because his house burnt down, and all of his guitars, and guitar gear burnt with it.

  • the guitar off john it's the same guitar that he use this days, he bought it when he get into the band

  • Really? I thought it was something RHCP gave to him when he joined, cause Hillel had one just like it

  • no man... in a interview he say that he bought it

  • oh haha, well nice choice john :]

  • its not the same one he uses today. the one in this video is the early 70s model, he plays like an early 60s today, theyre not the same guitar.

  • great!

  • ... damn it Chad looks like a caveman in the beginning...

  • Tis only a tasty jam :)

  • this not yertle the turtle its"its in the mix" they just played it after yertle the turtle.

  • yertle the turtle is the name of the song

  • nah it's not 'Atomic Dog' it really is 'It's in the mix" by Slim. thank you so much to whoever said that i've been trying to find the original for so long!

  • this is Atomic Dog by George Clinton. The whole jam is from the "Yertle the Turtle" performance at Nozems-A-Gogo, a UK television show.

i suggest you check the whole thing out. they do YTT, Cosmic Slop and Atomic Dog.
